I liked chrome a lot more before they pulled h.264 support. I still use it as my dedicated Flash player, but i've changed all my searches over to bing out of spite.

i didn't like chrome at first cause it was defs a different feel from other browsers when it came out as Beta. I switched back to firefox but a couple weeks later my buddies were raving about it so i gave it another go and I haven't looked back since! Its the first thing i install on any computer and I promote it to all my friends now. (and as far as uninstalling firefox and hiding internet explorer on my parents' computer)

sure there's the odd thing it doesn't like once in a while from certain websites, but those websites are ancient or have a really bad build anyways so its more the website's fault than google's...

Overall I love it, no hate here!

i love chrome,. but for some strange reason MR seems to crash, and often
i have tried to remove the app and re-install but i do notice that there are noticeable glitches... so back to firefox for me for MR-threads

imo firefox>chrome>safari>>>>>>>>>IE ;)
Odd, MR works great on my end.

Plus, I haven't seen anyone complaining about data collection from Windows users of Chrome.

Possibly this is the result of Android. Since Apple users are more likely to defend iOS from its biggest competitor, Android which is also a Google product. Thus, creating this mindset that Google is evil.

Plus H.264 is still supported as of Chrome 10 and is present in Chrome 11.

I use Firefox because of the Firesheep extension
I use chrome because it's the most awesome browser in the world
Safari, u suck.
Internet Explorer? nope.avi

The only hate is that Mac users didn't get it first before or at the same time as Windows users. After the Mac version came out and it was stable then the hate went away.

Ah yes I remember that. When Chrome first came out it was advertised largely on MacRumors of all places, even though 90%+ of people here use Macs, and therefore they can't GET Chrome for months

I still use Opera, Firefox, Safari, for light work.

Yet my absolute favorite for my Macs and PC's is Chrome. Nothing else comes remotely close for what I use it to do.

It remains the fastest of them all in my experience.

With frequent improvements pushed out and a rapidly growing selection of extensions, I'm very happy with Chrome.

I love the feel chrome but its unusable for me.

First it does not allow me to print shipping labels from amazon, ebay, and/or paypal. This is a known issue and last time I checked no solution existed, I'm not sure if theirs an unofficial workaround.

Second it uses considerably more cpu resources when playing flash video compared to safari or firefox.

Third I actively use google voice services and when using chrome, gmail chat and the google voice plugin constantly have issues rendering it unusable. No current solutions seem to work.

I've tried to make chrome work by using other browsers for the above mentioned use cases but its too much of a pain. Since I have never once experienced any of these issues when using safari or firefox I just removed chrome altogether an use safari as my primary browser. Yes it feels clunkier but I'm not bothered by annoying nuances.

I prefer Safari as my default browser, but I like Chrome and have it installed. I only use it for those rare sites that still use Flash (so I don't have to install it for Safari). Usually this comes down to two use-cases: pizza or porn.

Best thing about chrome is the unified address/search bar.

I always laugh when I look at screenshots of the other browsers that still have a search bar.

It's also the worst thing.

I mean, it's great for you or I. Mom and pop? It trains them to not understand what a URL looks like. They can just type whatever they want in the field and it comes up.

True.

Experienced Apple users know that software is generally developed for Windows first and Mac second, it's been that way for years and never bothered me. After all PC's have a huge market share in the corporate sector especially, it's no big deal really.

I use Firefox because I am use to it and Chrome (as far as I know) can't do the 1 thing that FF can. When I am on the bottom of a page, I can take 3 fingers on my track pad and swipe up and I'm at the top of the page instantly. Sorry if I didn't explain this right.

Oh is it a privacy thing that makes some people hate Chrome... Well I don't do any "top secret" stuff on my computer, so I don't really give a crap if Google can see what I do on my browser.

This thread has inspired me to go back to Safari. I'm remembering that the primary reason I moved to Chrome was because I removed Flash from my computer, and Chrome was able to do it in-browser.

I also uninstalled many of the extensions I had for Safari (leaving only ad-block), and it's been doing as well as Chrome for me (flash issue aside).

Safari has always worked extremely well for my needs. About the only plugin I really care about is 1password. Also, when I hit a flash site I want to view I have assigned a keyboard shortcut to an Automator service that opens the current URL in Chrome. Quick and painless.

Really? Care to share that service and how you put it together?

As an aside, the problem with uninstalling flash from the system is that I can't use the Hulu desktop app or any other 3rd party apps (like RSS readers) that rely on Flash for content. I could keep flash installed, but then I'd need to have Click2Flash installed on Safari, and I'm not sure the extensions weren't the culprit for my problems with Safari.
