I love Chrome, Google on the other hand is getting creepy.

But Chrome the browser for me is by leaps and bounds the most stable for me.

Never been a big fan of the whole usage-tracking policy with Chrome, not too mention the RAM usage. Putting every extension and tab in a separate process causes the total amount of RAM to balloon quite considerably, more so than Firefox or Safari, under similar circumstances.

There are political reasons not to like Chrome (the famous story of how Google backstabbed Apple and built Chrome based on Apple's WebKit open source project instead of supporting the development of Safari, the privacy/tracking issue, the bundling of Flash issue, etc).

However, about the only user reason not to like Chrome is it's not very Mac-like (in terms of UI -- browser-based preferences instead of native app preferences, wasted space above tabs, doesn't support keychain, doesn't support many OS X core frameworks, etc).

I've been using Chrome for maybe a month now. I got a new PC at work, and immediately wanted to replace IE8. At the time, the latest version of Firefox was not available for XP, so Chrome was my next choice. I ended up digging the new experience so much that I tried it out at home on my 2010 Macbook, and haven't used Safari since.

It is definitely not Apple-like, but I think in this case, that's a positive.

I like Chrome a lot but it still feels an unfinished product. I prefer Safari on Mac because it feels more complete and integrates great with the OS. Chrome has issues with scrolling and I hate that. I like the interface, but. I wish they make the browser more integrated to Mac. The download manager is also not very good.

Some posters above have issues with Google as a company. That is not a hatred for Chrome, per se. My issue is with Chrome fans who claim that Chrome is vastly superior than Safari when, in fact, Chrome and Safari are largely the same under the skin. Google would not have chosen WebKit if Safari were a deficient browser.

Of course, then there are the users where Safari slows down to the point of beach-balls and crashing, so those users jump to google chrome because it works. On my 15" MBPu, Safari got to the point where I needed to switch to chrome, it was too slow. I don't think it ever really slowed down on my iMac, but I switched to chrome because I was used to it on my MBP.

A lot of people have privacy concerns with Google. Me, I couldn't care less what information they're supposedly taking and giving to third parties. If they want to know what naughty things I look at on the computer then they can have at it. Whatever they may or may not share has never affected me directly and until it does it won't bother me.

I'm confident in saying that Apple "spies" on us much more than Google :).

I really like Chrome, especially in Ubuntu.

I do understand why some people prefer not to use Google products but Chrome is a game changer.

I love Chrome.. have been using it since its first beta.

The only issue I have with it is the fact that it activates the Discrete graphics on my MBP vs the integrated... wastes battery power, so I need to manually set it in gfxcardstatus.

I dislike chrome because it can't play flash for more than 5 minutes without causing my 2007 C2D MacBook to kernel panic. Same goes for Firefox 4. :( Maybe my computer is just too old...?

note: I have the latest version of flash installed on my Mac.

I love Chrome. Love the minimalistic, sleek UI and fast speed. I have used since the beta, and switched completely after the Firefox 3.6 release I think. It has been very stable for me, in fact the most stable browser. It rarely crashes compared to Firefox, and even if it does it restores seamlessly. I even have a Chrome sticker for MacBooks from their Facebook page :D I installed Opera 11, and it's faster than Chrome at some instances. But it got painfully slow after I installed the Fanboy's Adblock list. The only thing I like about Safari is the font smoothing(since I'm on Windows), which I use for screenshots.

Chrome is fantastic, I use it on all my machines, Mac and PC. The Sync works flawlessly and it is great!

Considering Safari is the first browser to drop like a sack of potatoes at Pwn2Own every year, I'm far more confident in a browser like Chrome that is constantly being updated and the updates auto-pushed to my machines. That's not to say Chrome doesn't have security holes, all browsers do. But I think they are far more 'on the game' than Apple with their infrequent Safari patches.

In fact, I'd love to see Chrome on iOS. Especially iPad. Probably a dream but I'm dreaming big :)

I use FF because it's faster than Chrome for the sites which I visit most.
I often visit a German news site (www.bild.de) and the loading time is much better with FF.
By the way Safari is the slowest browser out of the 3.

I like Chrome primarily for a few reasons:

  1. minimizes wasted screen space (ie no bar on bottom)
  2. super easy to use imo
  3. when I create a new tab, it is blank yet has images for links I regularly use - this makes it easy to click on since it is bigger and I do not have to if I do not want to
  4. tab to search google in search bar (I realize this is not chrome speciifc)
  5. command # to switch to tabs

Plus it loads faster or something, idk, doesn't seem to make much difference to me.

The biggest drawback is loading a lot of tabs and having Chrome create new processes for each tab.

I've been using Chrome as my primary browser at work (Windows) and at home (MBP)

Yeah, same here. School's blocked downloads on their computers so I downloaded Google Chrome onto my flash drive at home to use at school. :p

I kind of prefer the way Chrome updates, sometime it's beneficial as some users are reluctant when it comes to updates.

Auto update is nice. Considering "Software Update" takes forever!

I really want to use Chrome. There is only 1 reason why I don't. There is no way to disable the bookmark icons on the bookmark bar. I want only text.

...Seriously? I'm sure you could find some extension that could change that...

I love Chrome and everything it has to offer. My wife on the other hand loathes it and will only use Safari. Dunno why.

Weird.

Best thing about chrome is the unified address/search bar.

I always laugh when I look at screenshots of the other browsers that still have a search bar.

I know that is awesome. At first I wasn't sure I'd like that, but it really makes things easier.

I don't know man, the first program I installed on my Mac was Chrome and synced the account with my other computers.

I love the speed and stability of the browser alogn with the minimalistic look.

Same here.

Chrome was the first thing I downloaded on my Mac.

See above.

I use Chrome on both macs and pc's. For me it's the most stable browser I've used. It's also fast as hell.

Yeah it is. Only had Chrome crash on me once, and that was on some old Windows's laptop.

Yeah, Google's sandbox mode to try to keep crashes in one tab instead of all them are great. And I really want Chrome on iOS too! :p

Sent from my CR-48, a chromebook.

I'm still using Safari, the only thing I really like about Chrome is the web address bar can be used as a search bar as well.

I can install Google Chrome at school, and it bypassed Windows 7 UAC on a hotel computer too. I want a CR-48 too but couldn't get into the trial since I live in Canada :(
