I'm not a big fan of the gold - but my wife is getting a gold 6. The one thing I actually do like about the gold is the white bands. I wish the silver had the same color combo. I opted for the space gray

I am just not a gold fan in general and neither is my wife. The only jewelry I own that is gold is my high school ring and that never sees the light of day, let alone my finger.

I personally just don't enjoy it.

The rendered stock photo on the Apple site doesn't do it justice. I don't doubt that gold will look much better in person.

Gold is a very polarizing color and everyone knows apple for being simplistic in terms of design. Simple white and black has always been their thing since Jobs revitalized the company. Sure there's the old iMacs, Nanos, and the 5C, but those have never been super well-received or popular anyway. But what cha like.

As others have said, the gold 5s looked really good with the glass panels above and below it on the back. However since I'm not a fan of those antenna bands, the fact that the gold iPhone 6 shows them the most obviously I'm thinking I'll choose a different colour. But who knows? Once I see all three in person I might change my mind.

It looks nice, but I will be perfectly honest the silver looks 10x better. I prefer a black face so I went with SG, but I was seriously considering the silver.

This is the tacky Gold Phone that we worried Apple would make

But this is the classy and desirable iPhone 5s that Apple surprised us with

I'm not on the side saying it's horrible and if I ended up with one then I'd be fine. But it just doesnt seem as elegant as anyone would expect. (Well, that and the fact that 2014's lineup is far more about internals than design so who really cares what color you have.)

I've noticed that it seems no one on the forum likes the gold iPhone 6/6+ and I just wondered why, when it was so popular last year. I've actually bought the gold 6+ and all the hate is making me doubt my decision :D I understand that black is very nice but gold doesn't look ugly to me!

I'm getting the gold 6+. I don't like the lines on the back, but after having black / slate for so many years, I wanted to try something different.

The reason it was so popular last year is because it was new and in short supply. I'm not sure if Apple underestimated demand, kept them in short supply on purpose to create hype, or if they had production issues.

The gold looks better in person just like the 5s. You have to see it in person to believe it.

I love the gold. I went from a black iP4 to a silver iP5 and now a gold iP6. I normally hate gold. All my jewelry is platinum or white gold. But, I rather like Apple's gold. Like many have said it's not a warm toned yellow gold. It's a cool toned champagne gold almost bordering on rose gold depending on the lighting.

I went with the gold 6 64 gig. I've had the black and the silver and just wanted something different this time. You throw a case on it and it really doesn't matter what color the back is. Of course YMMV.

I ordered the gold. I have the gold 5s now, but I had silver before the gold

I didn't like the silvers' bands before, but now, idk, I like silver though

so, who might have color buyers remorse?
lol

:/ I like the golds white bands better though !
agh! hehe ;)

Interesting. I opted for the gold 6 Plus. My impression was that it's quite popular. For me, the silver looks too plain, while I have misgivings about the space gray since the black slate/space gray scratched very easily on the 5/5S. Otherwise, the black and space gray combination on the 6 looks very good in marketing materials.

exactly the 5S looked cheesy as hell in pictures. Then I saw it in person. Wouldnt buy gold either way but it's still very nice. I'm sure opinions will change once it's seen in person. Antenna bands are ugly on all of them. Any way you put it.

Where do you get that idea? I had a space grey 5s for 11 and a half months and often carried it case-less. Other than 1 small mark on the chamfered edge of around 1mm, my 5s looked like new when I sold it.

It never scratched at all, not even with pocket carry.

I'm not saying it happened to all users, but take a look at these articles. There's no denying that it was a serious enough problem for some that it made the news. At the very least, it's more apparent on the black/gray iPhone than on the white/silver and white/gold.
