so many variables, but for testing i disabled icloud sync and it may have improved battery life. background app refresh enabled with private + corporate email. My battery life seems to be getting slightly worse. I thought on the average, I'd be around ~8hr usage time with 12-16hr standby--much like most of you. But this week, I noticed about 50% battery life at 2 hr usage, 8 hr standby. Currently, I am at 42% at 2.5 hr usage and 11 hr standby.
thats... just decent? were you using it hardcore?Usage 6 hours. Standby 13 hours. 5% remaining.
Yeah, I shot lots of slow-mo videos, emailing and SMS and games, streaming music and used Siri a ton. Wanted to know how long it would last under moderate to high usage.thats... just decent? were you using it hardcore?
I must say that I had high expectations for the SE's battery life, but so far it's been only marginally better than my 6. Which is good but not great.
The past two nights the battery has dropped around 10% overnight, although I suspect there's some lurking app that's to blame. Yesterday it was at 30% by 4pm. And I didn't use my SE from 4 to 9, but the battery still dropped by 10%.
I don't have Background App Refresh on and Location Services is set to "While Using". "Home & Lock Screen" is only taking up 8% of my battery usage.

That's still only 2% drain per hour. Considering it's on cellular network and perhaps wifi I would say that's pretty good. At least compared to all my previous phones.
facebook is notorious for battery drainage. also, temporarily disable icloud (log out) and see if drainage continuesYeah but my iPhone 6 was better in this regard. It usually only lost 3-4% overnight. I'm almost certain it's an app to blame, but I can't figure out which one...
Not too shabby. Feels likes it gets better and better when I let it drain all the way and charge it back up 100%
What evidence do you have to support this?ideally you shouldnt be draining it to say 1%. that kills battery cells
ideally you shouldnt be draining it to say 1%. that kills battery cells
Absolutely none. What evidence do you have to support this?
I am not sure, but it is possible. Got my phone on launch day and the battery life does seem to be getting better all the time. This is like the "your battery life sucks because iOS is indexing for few days after an update".
Am I the only one who think this is BS?
What evidence do you have to support this?

"For the best battery lifespan, try to keep your battery charged above 50% as much as possible."

"So a good range to aim for when charging a Li-ion battery is from about 40% to 80% in one go. Try not to let the battery drop below 20%."

"One of the worst things you can do to a Li-ion battery is to run it out completely all the time. Full discharges put a lot of strain on the battery, and it's much better practice to do shallow discharges to no lower than 20 percent."
The biggest crime though is if your phone is running warm almost all the time. If thats the case then it will most definitely shorten the capacity of the battery.
Is that enough?
Whether right or wrong stupid guidelines that only apply if we lived Ina vacuum.
