As an iPhone 6 user, I am very jealous:D I get 8-9 hours of usage WITH a Smart Battery Case.

I ended at around 10.5hours use at 10% at which point I plugged the phone to charge.

My battery life seems to be getting slightly worse. I thought on the average, I'd be around ~8hr usage time with 12-16hr standby--much like most of you. But this week, I noticed about 50% battery life at 2 hr usage, 8 hr standby. Currently, I am at 42% at 2.5 hr usage and 11 hr standby.

so many variables, but for testing i disabled icloud sync and it may have improved battery life. background app refresh enabled with private + corporate email.

watching video content does not drain as much as the 6s.

options disabled to keep good battery life.

Well I haven't had any of the "6" shaped phones, but Ive had every iPhone before it, and coming from 5S I have to say Apple hit it out of the park with this one. The battery life is insanely good. I love this phone! Better battery has been my number one request and Apple has finally come through. Bigtime!

Noticing a big improvement on my 5S, unsurprisingly.

Picked it up at about 8am yesterday, was using with Bluetooth as a hotspot for a couple of hours on a train, not so much during the late morning, early afternoon. Hotspot again on the way home, and moderate use walking, listening to music.

Moderate use in the evening, and the battery lasted until about 11pm.

Today it's on 83% after 1 hr, 41 usage and 4 hrs 58 standby.

So very happy, as better battery life was probably buy biggest single factor in upgrading.

I must say that I had high expectations for the SE's battery life, but so far it's been only marginally better than my 6. Which is good but not great.

The past two nights the battery has dropped around 10% overnight, although I suspect there's some lurking app that's to blame. Yesterday it was at 30% by 4pm. And I didn't use my SE from 4 to 9, but the battery still dropped by 10%.

I don't have Background App Refresh on and Location Services is set to "While Using". "Home & Lock Screen" is only taking up 8% of my battery usage.

That's still only 2% drain per hour. Considering it's on cellular network and perhaps wifi I would say that's pretty good. At least compared to all my previous phones.

It's a smaller battery, so shouldn't come as a surprise. Haven't timed it yet, but it seems battery recharge time is quicker (which makes sense), so there's that benefit.

Hopefully the battery performance gets better on mine. Seems to be just below par, just going off of results from this thread. Otherwise, it's a fantastic phone. I don't miss the 6 one bit.

Yeah but my iPhone 6 was better in this regard. It usually only lost 3-4% overnight. I'm almost certain it's an app to blame, but I can't figure out which one...

facebook is notorious for battery drainage. also, temporarily disable icloud (log out) and see if drainage continues

SE has been really great for me. Been using it for 7 days now so have a pretty good idea of how the battery lasts in different scenarios for me. I never use low power mode - as I need my emails fetched as often as possible.

My use is very simple though - I just need a communication/music device - zero social media stuff etc.

I'm extremely diligent with all my settings for the program, and every app installed - and everything I do not need, or will never use are all disabled.

Average daily use for me is about 15 mins phone, 20 texts, 15 emails and 3 hours music (AAC files).

Over 24 hours I lose about 12% battery average.

(in the last 12 hours I'm down to 98% right now - half of that sleeping)

0-1% overnight.
2% every 2.5hours music (256 AAC)
1-2% for a 15 minute call (cell reception is poor and usually 1 or 2 dots on reception bar)

The rest is just emails and texts. So, not a lot of screen time :)

I do connect my SE to my Garmin sometimes for activity up to 4 hours. This connection is Bluetooth to my Garmin, and live streams my location and data online via phone cellular for others to see realtime. 2%/hour.

One night I did have 2.5 hours to kill - so I downloaded and played the game Limbo for 2.5 hours straight and lost an extra 18%.

I'm OCD about numbers - blessing and curse :)

So, phone is perfect for me - couldn't be happier. With my usage - maybe I could get more from a 6+ etc, but the small form is what brought me back to Apple after using BB, Samsung, and Lumia since my iPhone 1 :)

Not too shabby. Feels likes it gets better and better when I let it drain all the way and charge it back up 100%

ideally you shouldnt be draining it to say 1%. that kills battery cells

What evidence do you have to support this?
Absolutely none.

This is like the "your battery life sucks because iOS is indexing for few days after an update".

Am I the only one who think this is BS?
I am not sure, but it is possible. Got my phone on launch day and the battery life does seem to be getting better all the time.

The biggest crime though is if your phone is running warm almost all the time. If thats the case then it will most definitely shorten the capacity of the battery.

Is that enough?

Whether right or wrong stupid guidelines that only apply if we lived Ina vacuum.

They're just recommendations. You don't have to take it. Use your phone how you like. Interesting that even Apple has the threshold for low power mode set at 20%.
