Why does the iPhone SE have better battery life than the 6S?

I agree with you that the 6+/6s+ probably have a better battery life overall, but your cellular signal seems to be really poor in your screenshot, and it doesn't help the battery life at all.

the poor signal occurs only after 6pm when i get back from work. im on wifi during those times but aware signal will be present still. battery life is getting better after disabling icloud for now. been on lte most of the day listening to music and some youtube and struggling to get it to 10%

usage is over 10 hours now

My dad got 6.5 hours of usage and 75 hours of standby out of the first charge, mind you this charge involved downloading 9.3.1 and installing it in addition to the typical indexing e.g. of a new setup. Regardless, he said that it has far outlasted his 5's battery life which is the main point :)

updated stats complete with what i did on the phone. overall content with the battery life.

I think someone mentioned earlier too though but the se should charge pretty fast as its a smaller battery but it accepts the higher amperage charging.

So it is safe to assume that SE has better battery life than 6S?

I was tempted to try S7 and gave my 6S to my mother. After using S7 for a week, I sold it because I prefer iOS to Android. The hardware is amazing though. Now I'm using my old 5S and like the size. I was thinking of buying another 6S, but now I'm planning to get SE and wait for 7.

Waayyy better. It falls between the 6S and the 6S+

Will post my 3rd battery results later tonight but I'm currently on 2 days I'm at 22% usage 6hr 1 min standby 32hr 33 min. All LTE.

is that sufficient for your needs?

have you tried doing heavy usage for an entire day and see where you land up? from where i see 8 hrs usage seems to be my max when using it heavily (meaning the screen is on a lot of the times). to me it seems as though LTE radio consumes a lot of battery.

Well my LTE coverage in my work building ranges from 1 to 3 bars sporadically so yeah these results are good for me. I think apples figures for LTE are from a perfect world where LTE would 5 bars 24/7 but that's not realistic measures.

Anyone who works in retail will know, looping demo content reels will annihilate phone batteries. Well these images below are from our demo SE, which periodically loops a demo reel.

It hasn't been plugged in since Friday, except for when I plugged it in before taking this screenshot. It wasn't until about 20 seconds after I plugged it in that I checked the battery stats.

I'm currently at 1% so here are my battery stats from my 3rd charge:
Usage: 7hr 44 min
Standby: 37hr 11 min

Not as good on usage as last charge but I was watching a bit more video from the xfinity cable tv app.
I'm impressed this lasted 2 full days from morning to night on my normal everyday usage.

I'm not going to keep checking my battery but I will revisit it again in a couple weeks by then the battery will have settled into place. I'm happy 2 full days and my SE is only 4 days old.

I may be expecting too much from this little phone, as I am coming from a 6 Plus. Fully charged, I have used it for 1hr12min, and I'm down to 90%. I wonder how it will compare to the 6 Plus and the old 5. If I can get the stated 10hrs, I'll be happy.

Battery meter isn't linear. 10% drop in 1 hr doesn't mean 100% drop in 10 hours. It'll be sooner.

Just curious, anyone come from a Note 4 to the SE that can compare the battery life between the two? I switch between a Note 4 and 6s+ and I only get about 4.5 hours screen on time on the Note 4. I want a small phone again and it seems the SE will give me much more battery life than the Note 4 at least which is my reason for considering the SE.

Thanks.

From what I've read, Android doesn't have the best battery performance, but even with that, I'm surprised your Note 4 will have worse battery performance then the SE. I thought it would have a larger battery (being a much larger phone).

Battery screenshots have kind of lost their effectiveness now due to low power mode. I left my 6s Plus on low power mode all day before and it still had 45% left by the evening with 6.5 hours of usage and 20 hours standby. There's no way to tell from a screenshot if a user turned on low power mode during his usage which will skew the results.

At first I wasn't impressed with the SE's battery life judging from people's reviews and screenshots because I could pretty easily get 10+ hours of usage on my 6S.

However it seems after an update (9.3.1?) 7-8 hours is my new norm. And once again I find myself turning off features trying to make it through the entire (work)day.

If a diag on the battery comes back ok I may try restoring as new.

Well, you can try to trust people. I don't think anyone here have any interest about telling lies about the battery life of their SE. Unless they secretly work for Apple and are trying to convince people to buy one...

i dont use low power mode when doing battery life tests.
