If you or the OP are not insecure.. then why was this thread created in the first place? When the Storm came out... no such topic of this nature was created... When Dell put out their "mini netbook," again... nothing.
So why now?

NO this thread was started because a week or so before the pre was released we were getting bombarded on here(iphone forum) about how the pre is SOO much better than the iphone ... How it does this and this better and multi-tasking and battery life and everything else about how the pre is better.. but then the pre is released and it doesnt work as nice as everyone said it would and its laggy and slow and has lots of problems.. this to me is VERY funny cause all thoes people are wrong and i was giving example of how "not nice it was"

Actually there was similar threads created for the Storm after people shoved it down our throats on this forum just like they are doing with the Pre and the Storm ended up having high return rates and till this day has a reputation for being an unstable phone. We have have every right to hit back after having this phone shoved down our throats for the past 6 months.
Couldn't have put it better, when they were shoving it down our throats telling us the many reasons why it is so much better than the iphone, they didn't stop for a minute to think that it could develop problems.
But... I thought this was an Apple fan site?
Who cares about the problems of someone else? And also (I JUST noticed that the topic header has changed), why call it the OFFICIAL thread? Give me a break.
Time to step away, and just realize that it's JUST A PHONE.

I actually went and picked up the Pre yesterday morning and I have to say, I'm much impressed. I'm not so impressed with the hardware (I have a few dead pixels, some dust under the screen, light leak, screen bleeding, the sliding mechanism feels cheap, etc.), however, WebOS is a beauty. I'm still going to be taking the phone back/cancelling Sprint within 30 days, but when a European (read:gsm) version comes out, I'll probably pick one up for a second phone.
It isn't enough to take away from iPhone customers much I wouldn't think. I do think that it'll take a lot of customers away from Blackberry addicts though. Until RIM completely builds a new OS that isn't 10+ years old, each phone is going to be more and more buggy. Anywho, that's my 2 cents.

Because they compete with something Apple makes? I don't think it's bad to hear about the competitor.

Right, and the iPhone was just 100% perfect upon it's release. There were no software bugs and no important features were missing. That's why there hasn't been 16 new updates to the iPhone OS since the first iPhone came out, because the iPhone has always been perfect in every single possible way. Oh...wait
Huh? I honestly haven't seen too many posts that say the iPhone fails in comparison to the Pre.
There's not a damned thing wrong with pointing out the Pre's shortcomings, but it's REALLY stupid to point out the exact same flaws that the iPhone had at launch.
There's a difference between liking and preferring a product and being a fanboy. I like and prefer the iPhone, however, I really doubt anyone will be calling me an iPhone fanboy.

Because you can't. Look, I think everyone here agrees the iPhone is number one. They would just like to see more competition to improve the product and service for the customer.
What good is it if a feature "should have been there in the first place" if it's poorly implemented like the Pre's C&P?
iPhone 3.0's C&P is miles better, mostly because Apple just didn't slap it on. They put a lot of thought and a lot of work to get it working just right and to provide a good API for developers to use as well.
You know what is totally sad about all this, if apple made the pre and lets say they called it the ipre, all these apple fanboys would be saying how great of a phone it is and nothing could touch it... They all think just because it's apple it's the best...

These threads made me think over the last couple of days about some things.... What if all of a sudden apple did away with the iphone? I think most of the people in this forum would contemplate suicide...
Like it has been said in many other threads.. It's just a phone.. They all have problems.. None will be perfect... I have an iphone and a MBP, if I ever find anything that suits my needs better than what I have now, I will surely check it out and it fits my budget then I might just purchase it..
There is one thing that apple is REALLY good at.. Brain washing people to think that their phone is better than anything that has ever been produced and anything that ever will get produced....
It a good multi- media device but it does suck as a phone.... Friends of mine have AT&T and they all have different phones. I'm the only one in the group with the iphone, they don't have the problem's with dropping calls like I do on a weekly basis..
It is good, but could be better....
