10:10 is the unofficial, official advertising for analog watches. Look at every Rolex, Tag, or Movado advertisement and you will see that the hands are pointed at 10:10. 10:10 doesn't really look all that great on digital display so my guess is they picked numbers that are more visibly appealing. In typical Apple fashion, I'm sure they researched the effects of numbers on people that's why they chose 9:41 as their marketing time. For all we know there's some kind of subliminal thing going on with the number that's been solely responsible for Apple's success.![]()
EXACTLY. It's marketing. The reason prices always end in a 7 or a 9 (sometimes including a 4, $10.49) is because marketing research shows a person is mire likely to buy something that fits that pattern, and it subliminally makes whatever they are buying actually feel cheaper (the 9s being worthless pennies but still a bigger number than the dollar amount, etc.). I'm not making this up, it's true. Apple has probably done the exact same thing with the clock, admit it, yesterday you though your calendar was broken because it was January 1, didn't you?
