I don't understand why people are so "annoyed" by this thread. I just want to know peoles psychological reasoning behind, getting the gold...

Especially since the majority are men,,,seems metro.

Gold is my color, champagne my fav drink. And yeah I had the black 5 and want a change. Finally arriving Tuesday....after a very long and frustrating wait.

You are trying to pyschoanalyze folks based on the color they choose for a dippy luxury item? Seriously? Never mind a zillion other serious things that go into a person's pysche.

Especially since the majority are men,,,seems metro.

How about different people like different things? Otherwise stated, what's it to you?

I just don't understand? Under certain light it looks like the silver one??? Plus the gold ring around the home button, looks awful!
I said the same thing...a friend has the gold one and it looked just like mine...I couldn't tell the difference and then we were in a different room with different lighting and that's when I could see the gold more clearly...lighting is everything

Ya it's so metro. You're not doing a very good job trolling. It's quite obvious you wish you had a gold 5s.

Is anyone actually GETTING gold iPhone 5S'?

My girlfriend ordered hers (AT&T 32gb) about 4-5 days after the start of ordering from Apple.

We still don't have it!

I waited in line last week and bought mine in person. You can go to an apple retail store and see if they have stock. If they do, cancel your online order and buy in person.

Maybe because people happen to like it?

Not everyone has to conform to your opinion of appearances. Everyone is independent on their own thoughts.

Why does it matter so much to you if someone decides they want a gold iPhone? How does someone's choice of iPhone affect your life in any way at all?

I would of liked a Copper colored iPhone5S

I went for the Gold :) , but I really wish they would of had a Copper colored model, or more colors like the 5C. The Silver would of been my second choice of the available colors, and I did have to think twice about which color to choose, but I went with the Gold.

I just hope people that are going crazy for the gold iPhone - especially those paying big money on eBay for them - actually want it because they like the color and not for the perceived rarity generated by the low availability. Those people will be disappointed in a few months when Apple ramps up the production and there will be gold iPhones everywhere.

If Apple really wanted to whip up a frenzy they could come out and announce that only X amount of gold phones will be produced and people will go even more insane for them, but they know better than that and will pump out gold phones as long as they sell until eventually they will be a dime a dozen.

Oh well, to each his own!

I was first in line when iPhone 5S was launched last thursday here in Denmark.

I had had a couple of looks at the gold, and really liked it, so while I actually had a chance of picking one up, I did.

They had ONE in gold.

Gotta say, I like it. It's more subdued than I had expected, and comes off quite elegantly, so I'm happy.

Amazingly, some people have different tastes than you! I know this is a very shocking concept for you to understand but that is the reason why.

Also not everyone is buying gold.

i am just seeing a trend of gold iphones all over the streets...

How are you actually seeing them all over the streets? The majority are in cases so you can't tell what color they are. And, if they are talking on one, the gold ring would be up by their mouth and you wouldn't see it then either.

I think it looks good. It's a good shade of gold. Originally I was going with the silver, changed my mind the day before I placed my order on sept 20th and 1:02am mst. Yep... I bought a launch gold iphone 5s! And no regrets. Haven't heard anything negative in person about the color just compliments of how different it looks in person.

Silver or Gray everywhere, since there will be millions of those as well. We buy them because of the color, not your so called rarity theory. Such silly people with silly posts on this thread.

Because they can do what they want with their money. America.

For me, its because the gold 5S will be worth more next year in resale then any other color by far. Plus i had a black 5 and the black 5S looks and feels almost identical.
