Why is everything not AppleOS so ugly?

I had brick phones back in the day before smart phones. When phones were the size of bricks. I moved from those to the startac 3000 then to the 6500. They were awesome because they were acutally able to fit in your pocket, unlike the bricks of the day. Now, the screen in current foldables is so fragile I would never own one and they are the new brick since they are essentially two phones together.

I had the flip 6 and didn't like it. I hardly used it. I have the 26 ultra now and it's much better.

I remember my first mobile, a Nokia 2010 clipped onto my belt. I thought it was the best thing ever, back in the 90s.

This was my first true cell phone. Had various mobile phones that used radio waves before that.

Well to be fair Korea's most prominent public broadcasting channel even aired an interview where a Samsung employee confessed that Samsung has a dedicated department for copying Apple.


Judging by other Android oems copying Liquid Glass I’m sure they do too. 😂

The naive would think only others copy or borrow from Apple. When Apple themselves must have a huge dedicated dept to copy from Android. "Steve Jobs himself once said, "Good artists copy; great artists steal"

Funny since Samsung has been making folding phones for about 8 years now. Apple is about to release a folding phone in a couple of months......so who is copying who now? 🤣 😂 🤣

I just couldn't care less about manufacturers "copying" liquid glass. When Google, Samsung, etc went to a flat look, Apple dropped the skeuomorphism and went with a cleaner menu and flat icon design as well. Apple copies, Google copies, Samsung copies, etc, etc, etc. The quote you reference from Steve Jobs perfectly states that point and all companies keep an eye on what the competition is doing right and borrows from or improves upon what they are doing.

Exactly.....They all copy from each other......Only those blinded by brand name would claim differently.

Great, so let us have a laugh at Samsung's no-frills Apple knockoff range! You can freely continue to criticise everything Apple does. Our differences keep this forum turning.

Carl Pei was pretty brutal in his interview I posted above. I don’t believe he is blindsided by brand loyalty to Apple.

That’s just a ridicule claim to make. 😂

Carl Pei is jealous that his company failed to his biggest rival. OnePlus is no more in part to Samsung's success.....heck even Apple follows Samsung's lead....like folding phones 😂 😂 😂

I don't criticize everything Apple. I am just the opposite POV to those that criticize everything Samsung in this thread.
I have had every iPhone since day one and upgrade every year. This year will be no different.
But i can also see the truth and not blinded by brand name.
I have a 17PM and S26U and Pixel 10 XL and upgrade all 3 every year......Heck i probably use the 17PM and AW2 most all and I am loving the IOS 27 public beta. Siri is much improved!
But just because I am an Apple fan it doesn't mean I hate everything NOT Apple either.

While that's subjective, I miss the Windows Vista/7 days. I really liked Windows Aero.

What I like about Apple is that they're probably the company with the most consistency. That in itself plays a big role.

You get me numbers on those and I'll be sure to include them. And while we're at it, do you have numbers for people who download these launchers, try them, and then delete them? I've downloaded a ton of things I didn't intend to use long-term just to check them out and I suspect I'm not the only person doing so.

Should have seen this place when Lion and iOS 6 launched.
Easy to forget now, but the Steve and Scott corinthian leather and gray linen era wasn’t exactly received with high praise here.

Neither was the 3-D space look of Mac OS X leopard, or the brushed metal look of its predecessors. Pretty much no Apple design has been well received here on this website, despite most of them being well received outside of it.

“Who copied who“ argument is completely dumb and pointless.
T all of these companies make a specific type of product, that type of product goes through phases.
They are competitors, if one company creates a feature or a product that is successful, the rest will follow. If they don’t, they will not survive, or they will be missing out on huge portions of the market.
That’s just business.
Samsung and LG both make refrigerators and washing machines, is the fact that LG’s washing machine uses water a copy of Samsung’s washing machine that also uses water? See how ridiculous this sounds?

Samsung has been able to sell a folding phone at $2000 to the tune of 2.5 to 5 million units every single year for almost the last decade. Apple would be absolute fools not to jump on that bandwagon. If they really sell 10 million units in the first year at $2500 a pop, that’s at least 8 to $12 billion in pure profit assuming around a 40 to 50% profit margin.
