The camera cutouts are different enough that I know people were worried about flash issues. And the volume buttons are slightly different too.

But hey, if it works, great!
`

A bumper has NO camera cutouts, so the only the only thing the old crashguard will do is slightly cover the speaker grill.

There are better alternatives than CrashGuard. Rhino Shield is overrated and bulky/ugly-looking just like OtterBox products.

I'm usually the one pushing my friends from their OtterBoxes to RhinoShields. what's a better alternative that offers the same amount of protection the CrashGuard does?

Despite what Hick says, there are NO other "better" alternatives that offer the same protection. Yes, there are others that look better but none that protect as well.

If anybody disagrees with me I'd really like to know what the other options are as I have yet to find them.

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered the black RhinoShield CrashGuard for my black iPhone 7. Gotta start somewhere, right? :) I used the 15% promo and shipping was $5.

you didn't get the screen protector as well? it's awesome. you definitely would have had free shipping for your entire order.

Nah, I didn't bother. I had Zagg Invisible Shield hdx front and regular back installed this week, so I'm all set! Just waiting for the bumper.

The Caze Thinedge for the 5/5s was my favorite case I've ever had for any iPhone. Interested to see how this one works out. The CrashGuard looks way too thick for my taste.
the 5/s is still my favorite body. I wish the 6/7 body had flat sides like the 5/s - bumpers would look better, I believe. mine shipped a few hours ago from NJ. I just hope the back of the bumper frame isn't too thick since it has to accommodate the more protruding camera. but I also want it high enough to keep the camera off any surface when it's on its back side.

but it really wasn't that bad on my Note5 and 6s Plus, depending on how you handled the phone.

Did you get a shipping confirmation email from Caze???

I just ordered another bumper in addition to my RhinoShield...

it's aluminum!!! with TPU inside. it's definitely a plus in the looks department. i hope it doesn't affect the already-poor reception the 7/Plus seems to have.

here's a link for those interested...

My top pick is the Caze so far: sleek and thin. I emailed them to see if they'll ever do a Jet Black version instead of Matte, but will probably order Matte anyway in the interest of time. Will post reply if anyone else is interested.

I don't get the insert thing though. Why not just uniform black?

Edit: For those interested in the X-Doria, just be wary of the aluminum. I tried a different brand's aluminum one once and it ruined my cell reception...

Can anyone chime in on whether the crashguard is a rubber type like silicone that can get caught up on the pocket or more like a tpu/hard plastic.
I've gotten quite a few CrashGuard review samples from Evolutive Labs and am quite familiar with its feel. It is actually a very smooth matte plastic. It is definitely not rubbery and will not get caught on pockets or anything. If anything, it tends to be too slippery. RhinoShield just sent me their iPhone 7 Plus CrashGuard 2.0 in Black to review, and I will be reviewing it in the next 3 to 5 days. So far, it looks like an improvement on the original CrashGuard bumpers in terms of port openings and fit on the phone.

I'm hoping the TPU in between will prevent any decrease in reception. when I had Spigen's old metal frame version for the 5 body, that was metal to metal. I think they've since got rid of that.

I checked Caze out, and just ordered the ThinEdge in the silver. I want that 5/s look for the sides.

Sweet! Looking forward to the review.

Is the CrashGuard 2.0 thinner and less bulky per your first impressions?

Stop messing with aluminiun bumpers. All of them will mess you signal and wifi. I had used and tested over 12 alumini bumpers including the Thanotech K11.
All of them affected my signal. The K11 had the smallest effect on signal but it did affect.
Best option out there is Rhinoshield CrashGuard...
