I had the Caze for the iPhone 5. Really liked it. Unfortunately, it cracked in multiple places and all Caze would do for me is give a 20% discount on a new one. The fastener also became loose over time. I really loved it, but it was unfortunately not very durable. Hopefully, they've fixed these issues for the iPhone 7 and 7+. I didn't try the iPhone 6/6+ version, so I can't comment.

One question I have about all these bumpers is how tightly the sides stay attached to the long edges of the phone, especially on the Plus size. Are the bumpers tight or are they easily pulled away from the phone's body?

I emailed Caze about the durability of the fastener. Quote..."The fastener is as durable as the bumper. As it's a small piece, you can't break it easily."

They seemed to dodge the question about it potentially being loose over time, etc. Hmmm, only time will tell I guess. I'm definitely looking forward to feedback once the forum members start receiving theirs.

Call me crazy, but I received my Rhinoshield CrashGuard today and I am very happy with it. I have the black 7+ and I like the matte black finish on the bumper. The look in person, I find appealing. I saw the pics posted here the other day and I was sure I would return this. I previously was using a Spigen Ultra Hybrid Air Cushion and if the CrashGuard is thicker, it's only by a minimal amount.

I had the Caze ThinEdge bumper also for my 4 or 5 (can't remember) but I didn't like it. It was just a flimsy plastic border and the clip wouldn't stay connected. That was several years ago so Im sure they have improved the design. But it was just a bumper to avoid scratching the bezel.

BTW, I hate the fact that I use a case. I really want to carry the phone naked, but I find the 7+ too big and slippery and I know I will drop it. And I set it down on my desk, tables and counters and I don't want to scratch the camera. For now at least, I am going to use the CrashGuard.

That's good to hear. My RhinoShield CrashGuard is on its way. I have a black iPhone 7 and hoping that the bumper doesn't look/feel overly substantial, compared to a 7+. I really like the look of it from seeing all the pics and vids online.

Tracking has been stuck on Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item, location Dayton, NJ since yesterday morning. I'm in the Philly, PA area so it should get here soon.

That's good news. I also had my eye on the rhino shield but I thought it wouldn't be good. I'm going to maybe give one a shot via amazon after reading your experience. I also have the matte black & the only other case option I was going with was the apple silicone one. Love the feel of it but defeats the purpose but covering up the nice matte black finish.

I'd love to go naked without a case but It gets tedious when I set my phone down and have to make sure it's on something soft so I don't scratch the camera lens/screen.

I agree with you. Naked is the way to go. I had Zagg Invisible Shield hdx front and regular back installed last week, so I'm all set! Just waiting for the bumper.

If you order on Amazon, Im sure you can return for a full refund if not satisfied. Let us know your opinion when you get it.

Yes and Evolutive Labs also offers returns/refunds as well. I ordered directly through them and used the 15% off promo code.

I can echo your reaction. I got both the case and my matte black 7+ and initially I didn't like the additional width. But I kept messing with it. My wife doesn't like how it looks... lol. I also have a Spigen Ultra Hybrid here in black and I do notice a difference between the two, especially in width. But I found the Ultra Hybrid to be slippery when gripping the sides, I guess cuz I got the black one. It has a really smooth texture. There's a bit more grip on the sides with the Crashguard. So today I had the Ultra Hybrid on in the morning and switched back to the Crashguard. I'll see how I feel after a couple of days.

I also have a Supcase Unicorn Style on the way so that's another option for me also.

Still not sold on the Crashguard. The design seems a bit odd where the buttons are. I understand the desire to get that curve, but it makes the button presses feel to angled when pressed.
I honestly prefer my incipio dual pro over the crashguard currently. I have a xdoria defense lux arriving this week.
I will keep an eye out for more bumpers. Xdoria has a bumper(defense edge), currently out of stock on black. I hope zagg makes an orbit bumper like they did for the 6 Plus. Thanotech is also bringing out a new bumper to match the k11, just wonder how long until its actually for sale.

I emailed Zagg asking if they were going to offer the Orbit bumper for the 7/7+. They said not at this time, but will pass the message up the chain and if there is enough interest, they may offer it in the future. I recall handling one at the local Zagg mall kiosk way back and it seemed like a decent bumper.

Yes I had one(or two) for my 6 Plus and liked it. It is plastic but does the job of protecting for minor falls. Was very minimalistic and worked well with E2E screen protectors. I actually went to Zaggs website to see if I could get a replacement as mine broke from the on and off towards the end. Probably would have dealt with the headphone jack hole if it was still available. Maybe I'll try the K11 on it and see what I think(to bad its space gray and not black).

I hope you guys like your Crashguard. I will be returning mine.

Regarding return, if you go that route. You send 2 pictures of the Crashguard in its original packaging in good condition of course to get the return approved.

Once approved you have to cover shipping, pretty standard, but you have to add tracking to the shipping method. In case they lose it.

Anyhow, worth the net refund for me as I wont be using it due to the overall size. Definitely nicer than an otterbox but not nearly low profile enough for me.

Im considering taking the money from these cases I may not use and just buying apple care and going naked or simply a skin.

I will provide pictures of the X Doria when it arrives. They offered black when I ordered but its no longer on the amazon site.

If it weren't for the bottom being open on the apple leather case I would be very interested. I realize I am being really picky, but little things like that bother me. I checked out the Nomad leather but don't care for the lightning port opening. Oh well, my unobtainable case quest continues.
My perfect case would be minimalistic with full coverage, and individual speaker hole openings instead of one large cutout. Again, know I'm being picky, but hey a guy can dream.
On a side note, the xdoria defense lux arrived today but, they shipped me the 7 size instead of the 7 Plus. Guess another week...

Do you know, on the x-doria do you have to use the back? Can you just use the bumper?

i bit the bullet and got the crashguard. I want something to show off the matte black and the clear case I got for the phone is already a mess with fingerprints and smears against the black backing. The reviews and pictures didn't look bad for the thickness. I guess I will find out when it arrives. It will have to work until I find something else.

The crash guard from rhino shield is amazing. I love how it feels on the 7 plus. Also it's
More rounded so it feels natural. Unlike the one for the 6s plus that I had.

FWIW add me to the fans of the crashguard. I was really concerned that it was going to be ENORMOUS considering some of the comments on here, but I think it's just perfect. It is slightly thicker than my Spigen Neo hybrid aluminum bumper that I had for my 6plus/6s Plus, but considering the additional protection this supposedly offers I think it is very nice trade-off. And it really does show off the matte black phone!

I would love that Apple returned to sell bumpers. There isn't in the market a good one that's slim and fits well. I hate the design of the actual Apple case without protection on the bottom.. come on, the third year in a row with the same design.. same phone, and same case design...... come on Apple, at least modify the design of the case to have a different look...

Here's my review of the RhinoShield CrashGuard for the iPhone 7 Plus. I really like it. They've made some definite improvements since the previous CrashGuard version:

Kristin

Kristin, great review as always. I have one on the way for my black iPhone 7. I'm hoping it doesn't add too much to the width and thickness.

Well, to me it doesn't, but everyone has their own definition of what is 'too thick' and what is not...
Hope you like it!!

yeap. it's expected to deliver tomorrow.
I'm almost sure X-Doria was originally named something different or the original company was sold. I bought a bumper for my iPhone 5 that looks really similar to the bumper on the two piece Lux case. I used it for at least a year and then my son did, again for over a year. It still looks great and really protected our phones.

just got my caze thin edge case in the mail. looks great but it looks like the bumper on the back is barely giving the camera any clearance. I think on its back the camera is actually touching the surface. So..onto my next case, I'm looking at the caudabe cases.

The Crashguard also barely clears the camera if the phone is laid screen up. Wondered about that as well. Odd since there's so. Ice clearance on the front. Now that I think of it I need to check and make sure it's installed correctly

I was considering this bumper. Dang that stinks, especially if it's touching the surface.

Kristin mentioned in her review above that there is barely any clearance with the iPhone 7+. I'm wondering if that won't be an issue with the iPhone 7 because Apple didn't add much bump to the new camera. I have the Apple leather case and there is just enough clearance.

Yeap...it definitely still wobbles when i push on the other side with the case on.
