Same here, I love my iPad Pro with the nano-texture display.
It is very close in size to the original iPad mini, and much bigger screen area than an iPhone Pro Max. There are plenty of portable Bluetooth keyboard/trackpad options if one desires until Apple decides to design one.
Apple did a great job with the Duo and iOS optimizations and has already swayed many folks that were previously disinterested in foldables.
Apple not said anything about MagSafe but got support maybe Apple pencils pro also got support not only USB-C one.

my guess is no one here has seen it in person... deserves an in store look to make up one's mind. YouTube videos only show so much and ultimately depend on a number of variables including your screen.
for me, it looks great. but yes, I am going to go in to the store to judge in person before announcing judgement.

So the best iPad is the iPad Pro 13 because bigger is always better? The Duo is not that much smaller, 7.8 inch versus 8.3. a lot better than a regular phone screen. As far was what keyboards and cases are available for a mini versus the duo... you are talking third party and they were not available for the mini on release. so who knows what will come out in the month ahead? and the duo has an impressive mode where it has a touch screen keypad, and a folded up screen. like a mini mini computer. The duo will integrate any bluetooth keyboard that works with the mini.

while I agree with a lot you say, as for the crease. Mark my words, when it's actually released people will come out of the woodworks saying they see it! like duh. of course. the videos are chosen to not show it. thats the way marketing works. not complaining, just realistic. there will be a crease which one can find. Just like if one sits in the dark, turns up bright all the way up on an iPad Pro oled, and look at really dark areas, you can see... well I forget what people claimed they saw, but it ruined their life. catastrophic. a real major failure on apple's part. you can believe people will state such about the crease.
Me? I know perfection doesn't exist and I dont chase it no matter what I spend. I accept compromises based on physics. Newton always wins, just like the casino. If I look for a crease, I will find it. so I wont look. shrugs.
I can't recall if it was on MacRumors or reddit but I'm reminded of a post where someone complained about the gap of their MacBook Pro being uneven. I think the difference was the width of a human hair, and it was on the backside near the hinge. They spent so much time poring over the supposed defect instead of actually using and enjoying the laptop. Obsessing over miniscule flaws is not the way to live life.

It’s just slightly smaller than the 7.9” iPad mini.
I’m a regular on the iPad sub. While plenty of iPad Pro users also have the Magic Keyboard, majority of the iPad mini owners who post there (there have been several polls over the years) don’t use external keyboards (integrated in case or otherwise) with their iPad mini. I reckon that’s likely quite representative of the iPad mini customer base.
Frankly, I’m guessing not many iPad buyers use external keyboards with them outside of MacRumors and YouTube.

so true. I do think it's a good strategy to avoid living though. cant see your own things to correct if you obsess about minute details of others/things. looking forward to more technical information over opinion.

here is another comment from verge...today.. after the release not before.

1) God DANG that is a slick animation for opening and closing!
2) Using the extra width of the phone to move the dock over to the side is pretty genius
3) Matte finish inner screen is really nice too, and probably helps hide the already extremely minimal crease, which is clever. I do wonder if the matte inner screen will show scratches more easily, with folding screens being so easy to scratch.
4) Similarly I wonder how well the inner screen will hold up to being pressed and scribbled on by the Apple Pencil's pointy end... I always figured Samsung couldn't do S-Pen support on the Fold because the tip of the stylus would for sure dent and scratch the inner screen....
Overall kudos to Apple to making a much prettier and more unique device than I thought they would! It looks awesome!"

I hope Apple brings the interface from the Duo to iPad. It ruined multitasking with Stage Manager.
Yea I fully expect people to be here posting about even the microscopic crease they see under the perfect light and angle
But I’m talking about the hands on videos - not the Apple marketing
They showed people playing movies, taking photos, using apps - basically real world use and as they’re moving the phone around up close, I see no crease and that’s all I’m looking for.
If I was in the market for a foldable I’d be sold on this
Those accessories are not integrated into the Duo. You have to carry it separately. This is a major drawback, a consequence of a lawnmower with wings design.
You also have no evidence to support the statement that Apple swayed many folks over to foldables who were previously disinterested.

But I’m struggling with a use-case here. I have the 17PM. If I switch I’d lose the telephoto lens. I really like that.
I don’t care about FaceID vs Touch. I have touch on my iPad. It’s fine. I don’t even notice myself doing it.
I have an iPad mini. The Duo is both. Which sounds convenient.
Would I dare take it out of the house? I guess the iPhone Air is crazy strong so this might be, too. Would I use it in public? Not to take photos, lol.
As I say, I want one. I just don’t know if I need one.

Shouldn't be a problem for those that claimed to be okay carrying an iPhone and separate iPad.
Besides, those accessories are optional and can be left on a desk for when you're ready to dock the Duo or use the folio case kickstand or some other MagSafe stand accessory. It's not a deal breaker and the iPhone Duo still shines without said accessories.
Integrated keyboard cases with a trackpad won’t work on the Duo because it folds. I’ve seen folding keyboards and they suck.
iPad Mini surface area on the screen is 13% larger than the Duo, and the Mini is already fairly constrained that way.
Also, your strawman won’t stand. No bigger isn’t always better, but in the context of productivity screen size matters. Right tool for the job, not a lawnmower with wings.
No dude. People travel. I’m talking about productivity and how integrated keyboard accessories like the magic keyboard that isn’t carried separately for dedicated tablets help them provide laptop functionality. They are compromised to be sure, but the Duo is even more compromised is the point.
