I've boughten a few Wii remotes and have plenty of use for them - mostly for the Wii games I've bought. I think you may find a few Wii games worth buying and playing on the Wii U - Super Mario Galaxy is one such game.

The GamePad has been great. I have no issues with battery life or performance. Off TV Play is quite cool and useful. I'll be watching TV and playing a game at the same time. Or I'll wake up and grab my GamePad to play a game before getting out of bed. ZombiU and other games that really take advantage of it create new gaming experiences that are quite fun.

The Pro Controller is nice to have, but most of the time I prefer the GamePad.

Yea, same here. Although I rather use the ProCon when possible for not wasting the sticks for playing too much Fifa or Injustice.

Is there actually a button to switch of the Gamepad when not using it. Always a bit odd (and wasting energy) when playing with another controller and the thing lays around in a different room and vibrates, makes sounds and displays my abysmal playing style...

Yea if you hit the home button just touch controller settings and turn screen off - it'll stay off if you don't touch any of the buttons - comes in handy when I play Virtual Console titles on my SNES Wii Controller

Yup - if you buy the NES release first for $5 - you can get Mega Man X for half off! - so you'll pay $9 for both instead of $8 for just Mega Man X.

Order matters though - otherwise you'll get NES title for $2.50

GameStop to recall 8GB Wii U Basic -- but why?

http://news.cnet.com/8301-10797_3-57587811-235/gamestop-to-recall-8gb-wii-u-basic-but-why/

My take: they're going to release a 32 Gig version for $299 with a downloadable copy of Nintendoland....

Come October (or a month before the release of PS4 and XBOne), price drop to $249. Black Deluxe version with Nintendoland and a physical copy of a game (Holidays bundle?) will be $299.

EDIT: Update - rumor is denied...

Here's an interesting game to be released - Super Luigi U.

I thought it's just a download expansion, but a physical copy will be available, have different courses, and Wii U Pro controller compatible! Only $30!

Its a rehash of NSMBU.. WOOHOO!!! now really, show people that bought a Wii U some real software, not the half assed garbage that it currently has.

I loved the announcement! :D
Just finished Mario U in multiplayer and went Luigi all the way.

There are some areas I found especially appealing (Painted Swampland for example...the level made Van Gogh style) and they used the artwork just for one single level, so it'll be great to have at least one more entry (make it more, will ya?).

Currently started the 007 Legends game, and while it definitely isn't sth to write home about, I kinda like it (much more than BopsII). Tired of all this army (BF CoD) stuff, tired of Zombis, so it has that (not). Bond melody alone is always a keeper. Graphics are ok, animations sub par, but I don't really care. FPS on a console for me isn't the same as on a computer anyway.

Can't understand all the extreme criticism I've read so far. I can do with the loose story/missions design, yea, not a big fan of Craig myself, but there is some kind of (even nice) logic in letting him play Bond in all the classic scenes. And there are some implausabilities? Well, it's James Bond what did you expect? :D

It's a decent Bond game, imho, of course not GoldenEye - but that was a game one in a million, so what do I want more!? Sure the Rare logo is missing, but I saw that Eurocom made also the last Bond game I've played, The World is not Enough on the N64, which was great.

Edit: On the down side, and that goes to every dev for the U, when you not have a brilliant idea for the usage of the TouchPad, make it ALWAYS off-tv-able as an option!

Glad to hear your enjoying 007 planning on picking it up. I'd generally agree that off TV play is a requirement, but games like ZombiU benefit from not offering that feature - when the GamePad/TV combo is so integral to the experience I applaud the boldness and firmness in that stance of this is how you play it.

On a side note - I am VERY excited for Super Luigi - for $20 or $30 you get an entirely rewritten game - new users can go ahead and spend $30 for a full game! Nintendo is doing some cool things with this release. They are working on the huge releases that are due at the second half of 2013. Games take time it's not like movies are made in a day :)

The last thing I want is for Nintendo to rush development and release crappy games

Agreed. ZombiU would be the prime example of what I called a brilliant idea for Touchpad usage. 007 ain't, though. In fact, but I might be wrong here, you can play multiplayer with the ProCon but not the single player; means that I started the game, pressed the A button on the ProCon to get into main menu, wasn't able to begin the campaignand had to restart the whole game. C'mon!

Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do (until now). Saw it got even further discounted since I've bought it a week ago.

Yea sounds like some patches need to be done to fix up that game - will be picking it up - for multiplayer shooters COD 2 is fantastic on Wii U

Never played it online! Was playing some BF3 with a friend online (PC) that was excellent, but on a console? Not so sure...may give it a try, though. Anything worth knowing?

Don't count on any patches for Legends, though. Developer got screwed.

I guess after E3 I will be using my wii u extensively after 6 months of playing wii games. I will be looking forward in getting Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD, Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country Frozen Paradise and Rayman Legends this year and Super Mario Kart 8 next year.

Just got a copy of Xenoblade Chronicles in shrink wrapping.

Can't decide whether to resell it for profit or to play ?

Sell it! :p ;) :D

Never heard of it before (lol) but has it sth to do with that X game that was just presented? That looked interesting, mechas reminded me on Probotector (anyone old enough to know about Probotector? old NES-timer).

The more I think about the E3 games for the Wii U, the more I'm pleased. Think Mario 3D will be plenty of fun and Kart should be a keeper. Donkey Kong's my favorite so far. Not keen on Smash Bros though.

I am super excited by the lineup Super Mario 3D Land is a very inventive game that may be my favorite Mario of all time - very close call between that and Galaxy Games.

Really looking forward to 3D World. Mario Kart looks amazing and the anti gravity will allow Nintendo to create some very inventive course designs.

Starting in August there will be new exciting stuff every month and that is awesome.

I've also never played Wind Waker - so I may wait a little longer to experience it first on Wii U - I own a GameCube and am going through the old Zeldas - in Majora's Mask now ...

First I was like cool, than I thought meh. Right now I came back to the first sentiment. :p
Although the character line up reminds me heavily onto Mario Bros II - that's when I think a little bit less like NSMB and more into that one feat Wart (?) (which was a great game and seems a rather odd installment in the whole Mario games history imho) would have been really cool. Especially when I read that it looks kinda like a 3DS game (which I personally don't know).

The 3DS game is a masterpiece - it is good enough to buy a 3DS just to play - an amazing work of art with incredibly inventive level designs - big fan of that game.

I wasn't questioning that! Just that I would like a kind of 'sequel' or call it reminiscence upon Mario Bros II...which I found a tad darker, more weird and less pop style.

You noticed that they're featuring the WiiFit Trainer in Smash Bros?!? Ifind that hilrarious :D
