I bought it for the PS3 when it was on sale for $9.99, they did a decent job of cleaning it up. I refuse to buy anything from the WiiU store, Nintendo seems to always screw up anything online, while the WiiU is better its still horrible.

Nice - good price point there - I'm happy with the eShop experience - it is easy to find what I need, download/installs are quick and easy - I can turn the system off and things continue to download, I can reinstall games if I delete them from my Wii U. They run some nice sales and VC bundles and well the 10 percent back is rather awesome.

It is quite awesome having a Wii U loaded with games that I can play without getting the disc. I still enjoy collecting the discs for the big retail releases, but still buy quite a bit from the eShop.

Not sure what you mean, e2. Horrible eShop experience? I had none. Always fast and flawless here.

Anyone use their WiiU for amazon in stand video or Netflix? Is soooo slow, it constantly stutters.

Waker HD and Pokemon Bundles Coming to Retail?
Retail leaks indicate new bundles are on the way.

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD will come bundled with a 32GB Deluxe Wii U system. The report also indicated two 3DS XL bundles for Pokemon X and Y will come to stores priced at $199. The individual systems will come in the colors red and blue.

Maybe a price of $349 for the Waker HD Wii U Deluxe Bundle?

(NintendoLand bundle discontinued for $299? - Target gave a $50 Gift Card for these a couple of weeks ago).

I don't think Nintendo can afford to get crazy expensive.

Maybe a cool skin for the Touchpad Controller?

A gold console would be kinda cool (maybe like the gold N64?).

Gold seems to be the new Black (iPhone 5...)

;)

Yea I don't see gold happening yet - they will save that up for the brand new Wii U Zelda game. This will be a black bundle.

netflix works fine on my Wii U. Amazon prime streaming works as well but the menus and UI is too annoying so i rarely use it

I continue to use my Apple TV for video entertainment - if there was an optical audio port out of the Wii U or if I had a better receiver that would encourage me to use it more for Netflix, but I'm happy having Wii U just for games.

Will your review be posted the day after?:D

I'll be curious to see what your take on it is. I'm interested in it, but have such a game backlog, and no time to spare in sight

True that!! All my 3ds games, metroid trilogy, pikmin 3, xenoblade, the last story.... I don't see how ill catch up. My ps3 is officially being used for madden (sports games) and amazon instant vid over Ethernet... My internets is too slow.

Ok so I also picked up Splinter Cell :Blacklist for Wii U.

The wii u gamepad integration is very good, the graphics and framerate seem excellent (appears to be 1080p native) and its generally really good so far.

FairPlay to Ubi - they are at least supporting the Wii U and the local co-op may be missing from the wii u version, but given the wii u extras and off tv screen gameplay option I still think its the better version.

Definetly more Chaos Theory style splinter cell than conviction....

Sounds great! Does it allow you to focus on stealth instead of action? Also, is it very linear or is there room to explore different approaches to a mission?

Yeah very much so with lots of rewards for stealth approach. I'm currently re-playing the side missions trying to get stealth rewards - it's really difficult though.

Patience is never my strong point :) And nothing more 'aghhh' than getting all the way to the end of a mission after 30-40 minutes gameplay and then triggering an alarm by your own error.

I use it for Amazon Prime. I've watched close to 200 episodes of a TV series. It's usually 100% fine. No slowdown. Of the 200, I may have had 2 or 3 days with odd slowdown. It may be due to the internet connection or a problem on Amazon's end. Not the WiiU...I don't think.

Kind of like real life, eh?

no real good deals right now for Pikmin as far as I could find, but I picked it up anyways, really trying to support the wii u. If we want more games, we need to purchase games :)

anyways, i love this game. I had never played a pikmin game before but this is just fun. I heard its only around 10 hrs. long though so I'm trying to take my time through it. game looks great too.

Just got Pikmin 3. I also have Pikmin 1 & 2 Wii Control versions I started to play.

WOW - Pikmin 3 is INCREDIBLE! There are collect/get the enemy games if you don't feel like playing the story. BTW - who said Wii U graphics were terrible? The graphics are awesome (1080p?)! I guess comparing it to Pikmin 1 & 2 (originally on GC), 3 is a huge step up.

Also, I got Tank! Tank! Tank! at TRU on sale for $10 (3 for $30 for games under $20). It is fun! Sort of like Battlezone but with Japanese Monster Mechanoids. I really don't like games that are "too Japanese" (heavy on the Anime and characters), but for a $10 physical copy, this is great!

I really enjoyed it, but lost a bit track because of lack of time (and parts of my finger :D) so didn't play much after the first two days. Is there a way, later on would be fine as well, that allows me to really explore the area in-depth - as in slow, getting lost? The countdown goes on way too fast for my liking, have to hurry already from the getgo to bring my starving people through the day. :(
I always tend to take my time in those games, happend in Dune (pre Command and Conquer, anyone?) and Warcraft 1+2, Ages of Empire, so this hurry up! thingy isn't really my cup of tea.

re Splinter Cell: I'm on the fence for this one, probably waiting a month or two since I don't have enough time now + possible price drop. I never played or followed the series, hence the question: is it like a mix of GoldenEye and MetalGearSolid? Because I'd totally love that.

There is enough fruit in Pikmin 3 to last you 100 days. Even a slow and expansive play style can be done in 60 days or so. Just focus on fruit finding and you'll be able to take your time.

Well, that was basically all I did. But granted, I'm only Day7 or so. But what I basically meant was that I'd like the day cycle to last longer. It always feels like I have to rush things to get my Pikmin on board on time without really achieving more than 1-2 tasks. You know, I'd like to just wander around, I guess. :D

That would be nice, but I understand the format they went for - you don't have to get back to the circle at the end of the day - you just need to be in control of your Pikmin.
