Yeah I am kinda obsessed with having insufficient RAM. My phone doesn't work properly. You are overly obsessed with a meaningless (to 90% of the people) feature. You don't understand how memory works.

the ram issue is overblown.
the iPhone 5s works fine TODAY..and its close to being 2 years old. those with 5s phones are soon going to be replacing them with iphone 6s... the 1gb ram didnt hurt them at all during these two years. At some point, futureproofing a phone is redundant when they are meant to only live for 2 years

I use about 6.7 out of the 8 gb of ram on my desktop. I agree that past a certain point, extra RAM is just a pretty number, but I think that for a smartphone, a case could definitely be made for up to 4 gb of ram eventually. You aren't going to hurt anything by having 3GB of RAM over 2GB, but there is a point when you add too much RAM and it will simply not be utilized, all it does is add cost to the phone for the manufacturer.
It is the place that information is stored. Please explain how memory works.
No, you are not using your phone properly.Yeah I am kinda obsessed with having insufficient RAM. My phone doesn't work properly.
No, you are not using your phone properly.
Nope, that didn't start with the 5s. I've found Apple has always been stingy when it comes to RAM starting with the original iPhone. To be honest, 1GB on the 5/5s is actually pretty generous for Apple particularly considering the original iPad only had 256MB RAM.Apple isn't going to say that they've been effectively screwing every iteration from the 5S onwards with insufficient RAM.
Why is it a joke? Maybe the expectation is a joke. iPhone 5s worked fine for the duration of its life, as you agreed. So why is 2gb such a magic number?I don't believe it's overblown. A premium smartphone in 2014/2015 with only 1GB of RAM is a joke. Sure the 5S got away with it far more than the i6 and especially the 6+ but no phone should have less available RAM than its predecessor. Sadly the 5S bucked that trend.

This is really the issue. Apple is in the great position of being able to market itself as a high end brand to a customer base that largely can't tell the difference.Trying to explain insufficient RAM to people who don't multitask is a PITA.
So is device flash storage. For an explanation of how something works, your post isn't very thorough...It is the place that information is stored.
It didn't work 'as fine' as the previous i5, and the 6/6+ don't work 'as fine' as the previous 5S when it comes to keeping apps/browser tabs in memory. There has been a constant downgrading of available RAM on each of the 64Bit iPhones, and none more so than the 6+.
I would like 3 or 4GB but 2GB is the most we can hope for this time around. Trying to explain insufficient RAM to people who don't multitask is a PITA.
According to the people who designed the phone, it CAN multitask. How much multitasking they were referring to is up for debate. I think most people on here agree with you that Apple makes phones for the masses. The point you're missing is that Apple has advertised the phone as being more capable in all aspects than the previous devices, but many on this site would argue it is not. The real point to drive home is that a lot of people bought the phone and expected it to live up to their expectations; expectations that were highly influenced by Apple's advertising. I felt like the iPhone 6 did not live up to my standards, so I bought a phone that did. This fall, I expect the new iPhone to meet my expectations and will pick one up.Every single computer ever made has built in restrictions. Memory, cpu and storage devices are just a few. Anytime you attempt to use a computer to do things it was not designed to do will cause problems. You knew before you even bought your 6 that it would not multitask so why did you buy it? That is as stupid as buying a Honda Civic and complaining that you came in last in the Baja 1000. Get the right tool for the right job. The iphone is not designed to multitask. Yes it can multitask a few simple programs, but it is not designed for heavy multitasking. If you want to do heavy multitasking you should buy a phone that is capable of it. Android makes several that will fit the bill. I am sure you have all kind of excuses as to why you can't switch to Android. Your choice is to either learn how to use your phone properly, buy an Android or quit complaining. Apple doesn't make phones specifically for you or any of the other geeks on this site. They are not typical iPhone users. Go to Amazon and look at the users reviews for iPhone 6. 923 reviews and 86% are 4 and 5 star with only 7% being a one star. Apple makes phones for the masses not for the geeks.

So I ask again, why did you buy a phone that you knew would not suit your style?
Having used iPhones exclusively since the 3GS I had become accustomed to using them in a certain way and by the iPhone 5 I was multitasking! I was able to keep a couple of apps and a couple of browser tabs *minimum* in memory. The two generations newer iPhone 6+ should be expected to perform at least as well as the older iPhone 5, right??? Well it doesn't multitask worth zip.Every single computer ever made has built in restrictions. Memory, cpu and storage devices are just a few. I knew you would not be able to answer a simple question. Your rebuttal is worthless as it doesn't take into account *any* of the above.

Because you want a phone with 2 gigs and it only has one. How can you expect the same performance with a jump from 32 to 64 bit. 1 gig is sufficient and that is why almost 90% of the iPhone 6 users are satisfied. You just don't understand you are in the vast minority. Almost everyone else is really happy. Read the reviews. Why don't you sell your worthless iphone and buy an Android with 3 gig of ram? Are you afraid of having nothing to complain about?I didn't. Why would I, and why should I have expected the 6+ to not be able to keep apps and browser tabs in memory like the two generations older iPhone 5? Surely the newer phone should be at least as good in every respect. I learned the hard way. Specs matter and all this stuff about how Apple wouldn't release a product with 1GB of RAM if it wasn't sufficient etc is BS. It plainly wasn't sufficient on paper and it absolutely isn't sufficient in use.
