Will Best Buy have the new Macbook on the 10th?

Priorities may be off, but they need to bring people into their retail stores. It's the last big big box store we got left.

It doesn't seem like they're getting many models for now.

Best buy website just changed to get it friday!

I actually cancelled by backorder and ordered a new one that says it will be here tomorrow....alreaady preparing to ship.

My order still says preparing order ships 1-2 weeks. Should I cancel it and resubmit? Also I used a promo code, will this be active again right away when the order is cancelled?

not sure. Mine still said backordered to, so I cancelled it when I saw it now says they are ready and will deliver thursday and friday.

A coupon could take some time to be active again.

It is only the base silver/space gray and the upgraded space gray that were updated to delivery.
 
I preordered one on 4/10 that was backordered, so I placed another order just now with the new timeframe. I didn't cancel my first order (yet), and as of right now it says "Order in process of being fulfilled; Usually ships in 1 - 2 weeks." (this morning it said "backordered"). The new order just says "Order in process of being fulfilled".

I also used a promotional code for the first order, but I figure I can always bring it into the store and have them do an adjustment if the second one arrives first.

I just got confirmation that my 256 SG has shipped. I ordered within the first 15 mins they went on sale. Just got my confirmation that it shipped via UPS less than 20 mins ago. I bet we will see them all ship today.

Also, I noticed last night that the free internet security software that I didn't want but came with the order showed as delivered for digital download and sure enough the laptop shipped this morning. Check and see if it shows your digital download as delivered.
 
It won't even let me cancel my first order. Showing as preparing order. Shouldn't I be able to cancel if it's not preparing for shipment?

It only let me cancel b.c mine went back into "backordered."

I took a gamble and cancelled it, so lets hope my new order really ships.

I honestly don't think it was wise to cancel your first order. Mine had been doing the same as yours and then it shipped today. You now are at the end of the line.

I wasn't really worried b.c I placed my order with best buy sunday, so I was on the back of the list anyways. If I ordered right when it went live, I would have left it open.

The new one actually says, "Order in process of being fulfilled; Usually ships in 1 - 3 days."

I think the fact it let me cancel means it was not going to ship.

Base Model - Gold.
Pre-ordered at 12:45 am MST on April 10th.
Like many others, it was switching between backordered and preparing for a while.
 
I just called two Best Buy stores in my area and both reps told me they can't sell them until Friday. They did not get into if they had them actually in stock. I think they do by the way the reps were going back and forth. Interesting launch to say the least.

ah, didn't realize you ordered it that late, well then it makes sense.

Really? So I wonder if they were selling display units in advance?

The plot thickens.

All I know is I'm loving my rMB so far, more than I would have thought. Both it and the gold style.

Who knows what's going on. I find it odd how some BB stores (as some have mentioned here) are selling their inventory. Yet, all Apple stores have no inventory to sell. And, the rMB I ordered at 10am last Friday is arriving almost at the same time as if you ordered one right now from BB.

So, I ordered from Apple and I'm waiting six days. Someone who orders today from BB will wait two days. Ha!
 
it is curious too that SG/silver will be available friday to ship if you go express shipping online but gold is backordered and yet that was the only one that was in stock and only one of them at the BB I went to.

Come Friday, I think I'll be returning my rMBP :D

just want to give another couple days of use.

It also says -est after the date. I take that to mean "estimated" meaning you may not get it Friday.
