there are scientist, physicians, researches who don't agree

There are also "scientists, physicians, researches (sic)" who believe that there are aliens living here on earth and that Elvis is alive. Just check the internet to verify this.

I plan to continue to enjoy the freedom and convenience of wireless devices during my remaining years.

There is another accessories to use audio jack like Square Payment?

Square says their card reader will work with the free 3.5mm adapter included in the box.

That said, hopefully someone will come out with a rigid adapter as the one in the box seems awkward for use with a card reader.

Eventually headphone jack will be removed across all Apple devices and not only, except for devices directly involved with activities which require high fidelity sound system.

And what devices are directly involved with high fidelity sound systems?

I'll guarantee anybody jacking into a high fidelity sound system is served better by an external box than whatever Apple builds into its products.

All portable devices will eventually lose it, so that kind of renders keeping the jack moot for HiFi systems, as desktop Macs can easily have loads of external gear.

I think Apple sent the shot over the bow when they eliminated the jack on the iPhone - the iPads will most certainly be next and will NOT have them in their next series ... gone, gone, gone.

High Fidelity and iphone are not compatible in the same sentence unless its 'The iphone is NOT capable of high fidelity' - hence BT Audio or lightning are fine for 99.995% of the people using them.

I think Apple will eventually remove it from all devices, but I don't think it will be for a while. In the iPad, they're aren't as pressed for space and iPad's are used in many different situations.
The moment that they remove the headphone jack from the iPad is the moment that their "courage" and true reasons for removing it from the iPhone will be exposed. That is unless they're going to make iPads waterproof too. ;)

The lack of headphone jack makes me remember when Apple introduced lightining cable on IPhone 5, one month later when they introduced IPad 4 , the lightning cable was included too. And all IPhones and IPads after fall 2012 included the new lightning cable. Based on this fact, Apple will remove the headphone jack on future iPhone and IPad models . So here is the question - what Apple will remove or add in the next models??

Apple will remove the jack in the next iPads. It will probably, but by no means certainly, continue to include them in new Macs since there isn't a lightning port in those and there is plenty of space in a Mac for the jack. Though I will have to say connecting oneself with a cord to a larger Mac is much more annoying than being connected to one's phone which moves with you in your pocket. So I would not be shocked if the jack was removed from Mac Pros when they are released this Fall.

Battery, the new touch ID/Tapic sensor.

My theory is, Apple will remove it to stay on message about the headphone jack coming off iOS devices. Heck, they don't even give you earphones on the iPads.

I agree they remove it, but certainly not for the space reasons you suggest. There is plenty of space in the iPads already. No one complains about iPad battery life and the jack uses such little space it won't make a difference even if that space got converted to a larger battery. It would be teeny increase in battery size. And the new Touch ID/taptic sensor should take up LESS space than the old mechanical button and its physical switch.

The audio jack is not only for listening to music.

What else are audio jacks used for?

I already prefer using my Bluetooth headphones than wired ones with my iPad, as holding iPad with wire connecting to my ears is pretty awkward. So if Apple removes the headphone jack, I, for one, wouldn't miss it.

Many things.

However, it would appear based on Square's comments that the adapter will be compatible with all existing headphone jack products. So it's a non-starter.

I think it will eventually be removed from the iPads, but I'm not 100% sure if it will be the next release. We might see one more release with the headphone jack before it gets dropped. Like others have said they aren't as pressed for space in the iPad so it isn't as big of an issue.

Would it be possible that they would add a second lightening port instead? Charge and listen. Or push the smart connector for charging....

Hubris. In the past elimination of old tech like the CD-ROM drives on MacBooks resulted in a lighter and more portable device, floppy drives needed to die. But the 3.5mm headphone jack? The amount of space recovered is minimal but the ability to charge and listen simultainously is taken away and another dongle to lose.

My current iPhone 6s looks like it will be my last iPhone. The lack of innovation coupled with stupid design decisions is pushing Apple back to repeating the Sculley years. If they make the same stupid decisions with the iPad I'll move on there as well.

This article explains quite well Apple's thinking and why the headphone jack was eliminated in the iPhone, which basically boils down to better use of space and more modern technology.

My guess is that the days are numbered for the headphone jack on the iPad as well.

The iPad has never come with EarPods as far as I know. So I'm betting they wouldn't include the lightning to 3.5mm adaptor if they dropped the 3.5mm port on it. You would be expected to buy one on your own, or use the EarPods/adaptor that came with your iPhone just like they expect you to supply your own EarPods/headphones now.

I do hope the next models of iPads start coming with the lightning to USB-C cable and a new USB-C power adaptor (as well as all models supporting USB-3 speeds). I was kind of surprised/disappointed that the iPhone 7 didn't do this.

It all depends on how Apple is looking at the 3.5mm adapter. If they view it as including the headphone jack which they removed from the device, then they will include it. If they view it as part of the headphone then they won't. Note they include it in the iPhone box, but they don't include a 3.5mm set of EarPods, you're expected to provide your own. Considering they also included a set of Lightning EarPods, one could say Apple views it as an extension of the device. We shall see.

As for the USB-C cable and charger, whats the reason for that? There's virtually nothing else in the market place to use it on presently. Not that it matters if you're like me and have several USB-A cables to use with all the other situations where that's the required connection, but it doesn't seem like there's really a need for spending the extra money on having it now.

USB-C will be needed soon to sync with Apple computers, so why not start including it with the devices? It also allows for USB-3 speeds for faster syncing. Not to mention it is a nicer, reversible connector which means a better customer experience, something Apple usually tries to promote.

It probably depends on how the iPhone sells, if they see a large drop in sales they will likely start looking for a way to backtrack. And that would start by not dropping it off of any more devices than necessary.

Apple backtracking on the removal of something they deem old fashioned? Do you know Apple? :D
They did it, know it's all the way.

Probably because the number of people with USB-C on their computer is still really low compared to those with USB 2/3.
