Put a HEADPHONE JACK IN IT!!! With top quality Audio for high impedance/quality headphones!!
Allow us to listen to lossless music!!
I don’t give a damn about lossless music since I can’t tell any difference to well compressed music in blindtests.

I do, however, care about my collection of excellent headphones that I enjoy using and that connect via a plug.

The available workarounds are unnecessary kludges.

If there is a move to USB-C, one thing that is a bit of a downside is usb c hubs are still a bit pricey.
What’s the difference here? Or why does it matter? ?

Current cables are already Lightning <-> USB-C. Only the phone part will change and then you’ll just need regular USB-C <-> USB-C (same here) cable ??‍♂️

Would be better if the base 14 were sized like the 11Pro.

That’s true. I think/hope the next SE will bring that to the table. Rumors from Ross Young say that the next SE will have a ~5.7" display. This would be very close to the 11Pro size and still small enough for the Mini fans like me.

Fingers crossed this will happen. Maybe in spring 2023. Until then I'm trying not to be blinded by new "amazing" features that no one will use in the end and keep my 13 Mini.

I know I'm in the minority, but this is hands down the BEST iPhone EVER!

Is being able to report a plane crash such a compelling feature for the average user?

I know I'll sound crazy but hear me out. Since it's clear that hardware improvements are becoming ridiculously minimal year after year Apple should focus on improving their mess of an OS and make the release of new models an every-other-year thing. I know it's not gonna happen cause decisions are made based on profit not on user experience but I had to say it.

“Will the 2023 Big Mac be a disappointment?”
When wasn’t the Big Mac a disappointment?🍔🤮

Bad tasting mass keeping meat in burger buns that tastes like dry styrofoam with some kind of industrial glue to hold it all together. The salad and tomato slices are the best thing in it, but doesn’t make it better. 😉

People will buy their phones regardless. People buy iPhones the week before a new phone comes out. They buy a new phone when they change the colors. I’m saying yearly iPhone upgrades isn’t sustainable.
Of course, but there’s a surge of sales every time a new iPhone is released. Imagine not having that huge spike for a year. It will be devastating to Apple’s revenue report as iPhone sales is the bulk of Apple’s revenue. Thus Apple needs to do yearly iPhone releases. Imo they would stop doing that once those spikes flatten out, but that’s not happening anytime soon.

Inflation might make a dent, overall higher prices leaves less money for fun tech.

Let’s hope that the next 5.7” SE is based on the 11 Pro chassis, and not the XR/11 chassis as it’s too big.

Just slap the M2 into the Pro Max…
Nah.

Consumers wouldn’t care if the Pro Max had the A10 fusion processor. My point is, they don’t even know what any of that means, and nor do they care. The selling and marketing comes from the camera on the iPhone.

No.

Apple sold too many 13 (mini) and too few 13 Pro (max), with the max version available only as a Pro version.

This time they want the sales to be more balanced.

I upgrade every year, I reckon iPhone 14 PM will be my last for at least 2! Been waiting for the old fashioned notch to go.

Will the iPhone 15 Be a Disappointment? No

Will the iPhone 16 Be a Disappointment? Yes

Will the iPhone 17 Be a Disappointment? Yes

It’ll be purchased in droves by older-than-11-era-phone-owners and yearly upgraders who will absolutely-inisist-how-it’s-revolutionised-their-phone-usage….and the rest of us will shrug and say, hmm, nice phone, maybe next year.

Your disappointment doesn't seem to trsnlate to Apple's record breaking revenue quarter over quarter.
But still you gotta admit iPhone would be at a better place with Steve Jobs around. I don't think Apple's revenue is related to how amazingly the iPhone has evolved but rather to the lack of something fundamentally better in the market and Apple investing in a closed ecosystem.
