Unless you have abnormally small hands, I can't understand any male who would prefer a small screen multi media device over a large screen multi media device.....esp as we're still talking about a small item here, so small it fits in jeans pockets no problems at all......people make out this device to be huge...it's tiny, it's only 5.5 inch an weighs next to nothing , that's a small device.

Bit like tv, the bigger the better I say.

Correct!

And the reason I am continually pounding away at this issue is because I have owned a 5.7" Samsung for a year now. Best damn phone I ever owned. If Apple didn't go with the larger display size I would have still decided to own it.

This is how good the 5.5" phones are going to be...

If you own an iPad, you won't use it as much anymore. This phone will actually replace your iPad for most things.

You guys are in for a real treat with these new phones.

Okay...I'm done. Thanks for letting me cheerlead.

From the clamor for a larger iPhone all this time, I doubt there will be many returns except if the thing doesn't work on arrival, and that's not actually a return, just an exchange.

Past that, people who buy them were either in the camp clamoring for a bigger phone all this time, or else buying it with plan to resell.

I find the whole buy-to-resell thing rather annoying, as that practice deprives other would-be early adopters of their chance to snag one during pre-order. However, I realize that that statement amounts to shovelling sand into the tide during this Era of Narcissus in which we seem to be living.

I'm pretty sure there's going to be a fair amount of people returning it. For a short while I owned the Nokia 920, a 4.7" phone. I absolutely loved the screen that came on that thing. Unfortunately, I had to change the way I used that phone.

For starters, I couldn't stuff it into my pocket anymore. Most of the time I had to keep it in my bag. No more just putting it away for 15 seconds then whipping it out again. I had to unzip my bag, place it inside, zip it, unzip, search for my phone, take it out and zip it again.

Secondly, the screen was far too big for one hand to operate it alone. Think of the times when you're on the bus holding the pole with one hand while using your phone with the other. Or carrying something in one hand while using your phone. Or eating with one hand while surfing the net on your phone. No more doing any of that now. You're far more restricted in the times when you can use your phone because you now need two hands to use it.

If you think about it, hand phones could be operated with 1 hand since over a decade ago. People have gotten used to bring able to operate their phones with one hand, and when they realize how crippled they are without 2 hands, they will either adapt or regret it.

On the 19th, we will definitely see people starting threads about how Steve Jobs was right to keep the phone screen size small.

I'll admit I'm one of those people. But I stay in Asia where there are lots of wealthy businessmen from China, Indonesia and Malaysia, and a gold phone can easily snag a profit of over $500.

Do I feel bad about it? Not really. I'm a student, and if I can earn $1000 just by spending an hour in front of the computer then why not? Besides, everyone had an equal opportunity to order the phone at the same time. I think it's perfectly fair that those who were willing to put in more effort managed to get it.

I have been carrying around this: Casio fx-115MS (as an analog to the iPhone 6+ ("plus" for those who care)

For several days, I have tried different brand jeans, shorts, Levies (508) and such.

It is digging in to my hip, just a little bit.

1. You know it's there. No forgetting this one.
2. The 6+ is the biggest phone you will want to put in your pocket.
3. The case will change the profile of the phone, so questions still remain...

Note 3 did not change my usage of my iPad. But it was a different OS so I understand where you are coming from.

The Note 3 is a great device, perhaps best smartphone ever. I ended up going to the 5s and that designation I would never give it.

Will be interesting how this pans out. Maybe many wanted a phablet but it wasn't on iOS so now is their opportunity. I blame no one, after all I tried one myself.

I was told they are new phones. I am not going to try and guess what you mean by "re-mannys." The Genius who help me with my 5 battery replacement, said if they damage the phone during the replacement process (a possibility) they replace it with a new phone. The white boxes they hand out are not refurbished , remanufactured, etc. They are new, for the purpose of replacement.

It's a slang word for re-manufactured. Meaning they take broken phones, replaces all the parts and re-sell. Basically, instead of just fixing a few things up, they just replace everything that doesn't meet a certain standard, so they can call it "re-manufactured" instead of "refurbished".

Idk, just what I was told. It's odd, but I've never had an issue with a replacement device.

There will be returns for both the 6/6+ and obviously people will realize after the receive it that the 6+ is too big for them. I honestly think that most people had their minds set up ahead of time that they were going for the 6+ regardless and will be happy with their decision.

I feel like there will be alot of returns. I currently have a Note 3 and constantly get made fun of how big my phone is. Jokes on them once they get the 6+ in.

I'm getting a 6+ btw.

What a load of cobblers.

You have NOTHING WHATSOEVER to support your statement and are still just trying to belittle buyers of the phone you didn't get.

Unless of course you've personally interviewed every single one of all the 6 Plus offer buyers worldwide and 51% said that they are "ordering it to see if it works".

It's trolling, nothing more, nothing less.

LOL! And you have nothing to support your claim of me based on your last post - what a hypocrite. Thanks for showing interest in this thread. Keep adding to the hits. And you call it nonsense, when you're one who keep this thread alive - 7400+ ROTFLMAO! :p

I can not figure out why people want an iPhone 6+. Is there such a thing as too big?

Normally I'd say that the 6+ would see lots of returns, but with Apple products there is not a lot of logic involved.

There was lots of going back and forth, iPad Mini versus larger IPad. Guess which you slaughtered the sale of the other? :)

And which one would you guess was returned more to go for the other?

Watch the forums on the 19th and 20th. The whining will be legendary. Legendary.

I think many people will realize once they have the 6+ in hand that the 6+ is just too much + and should just be a 6. However, the new 6+ owners will be too afraid to admit that the 6+ was too large for their skinny jeans or their small hands and they will continue to say how much they love their 6+ while in the back of their mind they will crave the size and portability of the 6 without the +.

:p

Personally, I expect to miss the size of my iPhone 5s. I'm still unhappy that we were given no choice to retain a decently portable device size. I can't wait for this huge screen trend to reverse.

They want to try it and it is not the right fit for them well there is no reason to conceal anything and will share their experience. Most will sell it or just return it, they are not just going to rationalize it is fine if it is not.

The iPad Air.

Which is why I rather get an iPhone 6 (4.7") and an iPad Air (9.7").

iPhone 6 Plus (5.5") compared to iPad Mini (7.9"), the difference is too little.

iPhone 6 Plus (5.5") compared to iPad Air (9.7"), the difference I wish was a little more.

I think a phone, a tablet, and a laptop each of their benefits. They're isn't one size fits all and 5.5" might be a great phone but its a terrible tablet.

iPhone 6 (4.7")
iPad Air (9.7")
MacBook (15.4")

My son broke the screen on his iPod... Twice. The first replacement was free. The second was paid $99. (was later told, if we asked for a battery replacement, they would have charged $79, and got a new one anyway.

The third unit he had, the home button stopped working. I suspect it was re-manufactured, but who knows. It's a crap shoot no matter what you get.

That is why I'm getting a 4.7". I have an iPad Air, that is my device for movies and games. I want a smartphone this time which is comfortable to use and fits easily in a pocket.

I got the Note 3 back when just to try it and that obviously was a phablet, really an in betweener so to speak. Lesson learned and I sold the Note 3.

I smell returns of the Plus, much more so than the 4.7" 6. Trust me! :)

Of course there will be people returning their iPhone 6+'s because they asked for a bigger phone and got one without realizing how big it actually would be.
