Great shot. That really does a good job of showing how reasonable the size is.

texting won't be a problem either. I travel a lot and need a 5.5. I did look at Samsung but I just couldn't bring myself to buying it

I saw that. Tells me nothing. Shirt pockets are made in all sorts of different sizes. Hands are much more consistent. Additionally, what's up with that photo? Something's just weird about the way the person is standing, the way the shirt is draping and so forth. Not saying that as an Apple apologist or anything, but as a photographer. It's a weird shot regardless.

Dude, I bought the 6+. I love the size. But on that picture, it looks dorky. Period. :p

The way I see it, people will regret not getting the 6+. Let me see, what else is better if you buy bigger? Ok, a hot dog. So you buy a little wiener, and your buddy orders a footlong mega dog. You both sit to eat and you look over, and you say "that hot dog is too big. I can't eat it with one hand. To each his own. Such a big dog is not for me. I'm perfectly happy with my little wiener".

Yeah sounds something like that.

Get a sense of humor people!

The parenthetical makes it. Bottom line? The truth behind the joke is simple human nature. Like it or not, the 6 Plus is positioned as an upgrade from the 6. That will inspire upgrade envy. Doesn't work the other way around.

I'm not challenging you. I'm not even challenging the absurdity of carrying a 6 Plus in your front shirt pocket. I'm just noticing that there's something weird about that photo outside of any discussion of phones and pockets.

Are people honestly suggesting on here, adults don't know what 5.5 inches is...I mean seriously?

John Ive is at the end of his prime. Awful design...giant bezel top and bottom of phone.

Other phone has larger screen in a smaller overall frame

99.9% of the folks that buy a Plus never owned a smartphone this size because there was never one available on IOS.

Weill, I've ordered a plus and I've also been using an LG 3G for the past month. Yes, I use both for personal and biz. I really enjoy the LG, it's beautiful and the size is comfortable. Pixels the same as the plus and only slightly shorter-but slightly thicker than the plus. I anticipate I'll enjoy the plus even more. Have been an iPhone user since the 3 and have owned several androids...

Samsung 5 is junk, really. I bought it , hated then returned it for an LG 3G which is nice. Also have the 5s and am upgrading to the 6 plus...

Yes. Having established the most iconic phone on the planet, the one that every other manufacturer has copied in one way or another, that practically stands in as generic for "phone" as the iPod stood generically for "MP3 Player" is at the end of his prime because one of the new iPhones is less than an inch taller and wider than the last generation.

Sure. I buy that.

Agree, I am so looking forward to read people's experience with the 6+ the first week. I predict massive returns, with the 6 being the preferred choice. We shall see.

Just because you prefer it doesn't mean others do. Stop trying to make yourself feel superior. Not everyone wants what you want.

I just printed out the dimensions for the 6+ and the height is the only thing that surprised me about it..seems too tall to be comfortable in a pocket every day for 2 years, but I'm still going to get to a store to handle it and the Note 4.

It won't be easier to use one-handed, especially if you have to carry something else in your other hand (while shopping, at the airport, etc.).

If anything, some people will return it due to impracticality of the size especially if they didn't anticipate it.

Have you not seen the features? Double tapping bring it lower. This is a non issue.

I predict a massive amount of iPhone 6 returns once they get to handle the 6+ and get screen envy. They'll be rushing to upgrade to a 6+ and there won't be stock. Then they'll come to MacRumors and complain about the injustice of it all.

Yes, I predict this.

Haha this was the best reply and probably true.

Received my Spigen Thin Fit iPhone 6 case (basically bought it to gauge size). It's pretty big for me. Attached pic is with my thumb already stretched. Definitely won't be able to use it single-handed for typing that's for sure. Passes the pocket test, though. Hoodie, not jeans. For some reason, most women's jeans tend to have extremely narrow front pockets.

As long as the iPhone 6+ isn't incredibly unwieldy and it fits in my hoodie pocket, I think I'll probably keep it.

*sigh* I miss the old 3.5" form factor. #

Based on what?

The size of the phone is pretty well known and even with out seeing it you could still compare it to the SG4 or even the note. So it is not really a mystery.

Those that are in the smaller is better crowd obviously will not upgrade of will go with the 4.7.

Not sure what anyone will return the 5.5 when they specifically ordered know the size.

Let me put this way, you based a forecast which is opposite to mine. Let's leave at that. I respect whatever your thoughts about this may be. I don't get what's ruffling people's feathers on the topic.

LOL! Read again. Making a prediction or forecast is not forcing my views on people. Superiority? Stop spinning this into something it's not. You've never thought about something you weren't completely sure of. It's only a freakin' discussion; my god. Chill out.

Probably.

Most people will experiment right before the return date. Get some of their money back too. Actually getting either one right now is a good time because I expect sellouts which is good for the resellers right before Christmas. Use their carrier update, then sell them to get something else or far cheaper.

I think Apple could have shaved some dimensions on height with the 6+. Keep it as short as the LG G3. I think they did some mistakes with their first phablet. Maybe by iPhone 7+ in 2016, they will correct it and keep the dimensions much closer to their smaller models.

+++++++++

Stooooooop this the "6+" stuff. It's 6 Plus. This drives me insane how lazy people are. You're literally saving a half a second. Type it correctly.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ :eek:

That's why it's sold out in hours ....before the smaller version. Can we deal in facts here please.

If anything I think there will be a lot of returns for people who "settled" for the 4.7" version and are plagued with buyer's remorse for not getting the flagship 6+ variant. Most people regret not going bigger when it comes to displays...

It would better to sell your iphone 6 + and the buy an iphone 6, you will get some extra money
