It will likely cut BOTH ways.

6+ gets returned because of size and bulkiness.

6 gets returned because the battery life drains faster even before dinner time while the 6+ it can last all the way until bedtime and beyond. And the 1 GB of RAM. Most iOS bash Android because of stutter, hiccups, force closes, lag, etc. They prefer smoothness. Having 2 GB on the 6+ can gives you that smoother experience.

Right now, people are just confused with the choices because this is the first time Apple offered two sizes with some differing specs which might compromise their lifestyle. My money is on the 6+ just because it seems better to have in the longer run because of the 2 GB of RAM, bigger battery, and normal FULL HD resolution.

I believe there will be. I don't think a lot of people realize how big the phone will actually be.

I was in an Apple Store last weekend and one of the employees was saying the same thing. He expects a lot of people to be very upset when they realize they can't exchange it for a smaller one right on the spot because of potential supply shortages.

I'll deal with it because I've been playing with others Note 3's. I'm more worried about my wife who I ordered a 6 Plus for. If she hates it, I'm doomed. I'll be the sucker trying to get an iPhone 6 after launch.

Yeah I see this as being a bigger issue for females.

I feel those upgrading from iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s will opt for the iPhone 6.

Those upgrading from the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s will opt for the iPhone 6 Plus more.

It's just my opinion. The difference is too huge from a 4 to a 6 Plus. The difference is too little from a 5 to a 6.

People will get what they want.

Iphone 5 --> iphone 6 for me.

Mark my words: one day apple won't offer a 4.7" phone. I'll go ahead and use a smaller one while I still can.

Will their be massive returns of iPhone 6+ once people try it out?

It will likely cut BOTH ways.

My wife happens to have a Note3. I compared the specs to the 6+ and the + is ..25'ish inches longer than the Note3 which is significant.

I'm confused.

Why will there not be a 4.7" iPhone?

That makes no sense.

I think he's saying that one day Apple will only offer 5.5 inch iPhones or larger. I don't agree though. I think there will always be people who want a smaller iPhone and Apple would lose a lot of customers who would just refuse to buy a bigger phone.

I wonder if there will be massive amounts of people returning the 6+ for a 6 after the first week of receiving it.

There goes an abundant amount of refurbished 6+'s.

starting this Friday expect countless threads that look like "who else is returning their 6+ for a 6?"

Aren't they both bigger phones?

And the iPhone 6 4.7" is the main one while the 6 Plus is mainly for people in Asia (China/Japan/SK) who like phablets.

Also what do you mean by people who refuse to buy a bigger phone?

I'm upgrading from a 4 to a 6? Isn't that a bigger phone?

If anything I think there will be a lot of returns for people who "settled" for the 4.7" version and are plagued with buyer's remorse for not getting the flagship 6+ variant. Most people regret not going bigger when it comes to displays...

Where exactly do you get the term "Flagship" for the +? I've never seen Apple refer to either device as a flagship or implying one was better than the other.

The 6+ is NOT better than the 6. It is only bigger which will make it subjectively better for some and subjectively worse for others.

In specs the 6 Plus is better (1080p display, OIS, bigger battery) but if specs were the thing people cared about, no one would use Apple. Android phones have had 1080p displays for years as well as 3GB RAM and octo-core processors.

Chose the 6 simply because I liked the size of it.

Read this person's reply, they are right:

I dunno, you may be underestimating Apple's realization regarding the hold they have on their customers.

Seriously... if another manufacturer would have come out with a GOLD (gaudy) phone, it would have been the joke of the month. When apple does it, they turn anodized aluminum into gold (almost literally).

I bet you ANYTHING the 5.5" iPhone outsells the smaller one by millions... why? Not because EVERY single person actually needs it -- no, because it's the NEW thing from Apple.

I think the tolerance level of Apple's customer base is MUCH more broad than that of the customer base of any other electronic or technology manufacturer... therefore, I think Apple can more or less do whatever they see fit (within a sane spectrum) and people will still eat it up like a gold iPhone plus.

Better than being the sucker trying to get an iPhone 6+ after launch. Seriously, I don't think there'll be any significant supply shortages of the 6. At worst, it'll probably just be a 1-2 weeks delay. :)

I mean if Apple wanted to charge $299 for a 16GB iPhone 6 and $399 for a 16GB iPhone 6 Plus.

They could and people would still buy.

2 of those specs are just due to the size of the device. I suspect OIS is also related to size as well...they could fit it in.

I don't see any of these specs making it a "flagship" device.

Based on that argument, the 4.7" is new as well.

I think you'll see a big wait time for the 6+ because demand outweighs supply, but I don't think the 6+ will come anywhere near outselling the 6.
