Definitely going upgraded iPhone (I have the 4S). What is up in the air is whether I get the new S or the even newer (since there's never been one, haha) C

I was considering other models (HTC One, Nexus 4, Samsung S4) until I realized you can't use iTunes to manage their content. WTF? Who on this planet doesn't use iTunes?

We'll see if it really just more of the same. I enjoy my iPhone, but the HTC One that I tried out for 2 weeks last month keeps calling me back with those stereo speakers and "beats" audio ....

There are programs that sync Android phones to iTunes easily with a Mac or PC...

I would love to try out an HTC One, but I'll probably just end up getting the 5S.

I'm undecided between the Note 3, and the iPhone 5S. Not sure that I need, or want a massive handset like the Note so we'll see what Apple has to announce.

Nope. I skip two generations, which means I'll be set for the next phone. (At least my current 4S will still be able to run the current OS when my next phone comes out, unlike my previous 3G.)

My wife might upgrade to the 5C, depending on specs, price, and how well iOS 7 runs on her iPhone 4.

But, we will be getting my daughter an iPhone, decision to be made tomorrow - and the price and specs of the 5C, along with what they do to the price of the other phones, and what that does to the used market, will decide what we get for her.

The more pressing item is the iPad. My son is heading off to college in two weeks, and we're going to get him an iPad. I really want the new iPads to at least be announced by then, so we'll know for sure what we're getting. We already know we're going to get him a full-size and a keyboard. And he has an iPhone 4 now. So, will it be a new iPad 5? Or will it be a used iPad 3 on used-clearance? If no iPad is announced tomorrow, we'll probably just get him a used iPad 3. Prices on those shouldn't drop by too much even after the later iPad 5 announcement, and it shares a connector with his iPhone.

No 4" phone and no Android/WP phone (regardless of screen size) deserves $650 price, which is what you're REALLY paying tregardless if you buy it on contract or off, so I'll probably just get myself another 5 under 400 bucks from Craigslist when I give mine to my dad. Or I might get the 5C if it's cheap and improved over 5.

The only way Apple gets my money for a premium phone is with a bigger screen.

I got a Samsung Galaxy S4 last month.

I like it, good phone, don't love it.

Apple could sway me back pretty easily, but as of right now I'm not all that enthused by the 5S rumors, so I'll just wait and see what tomorrow holds.

Definitely upgrading from my 4S. Its long overdue.

The "make or break" decision for me will come with the iPhone 6 vs the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Nope. Sticking with iPhone 5 for now and will purchase the 6 next year :)

My plan is similar. I don't see the 5S as an upgrade over my 5, it's just a bit different. For those who are impressed, they'll fatten Apples coffers. Some of us will wait rather than buy a phone with no appeal.

Once the iPhone 6 is released, if equipped with a display of 5.0" or very close to that size, then I'll buy one.

In the mean time I find the Galaxy Note 3 extremely attractive. I'll add a line, keep my iPhone 5, and use the second line for my first Android experience. I've just pre-ordered a AT&T Note 3, it's slated to ship the first week of October.

Sounds like fun to me. The best of both worlds, win/win :)

It might. it might. If I could get a 5C on t-mobile, that'd be pretty badass.

I used android when I didn't have my iphone or a apple device in my pocket, and all I can say is that I never found a point to stick to android when I could jailbreak my idevice also tried the lumia900 a year to late and it was alright I would have stuck but it was stuck on 7.8 and not 8 and they did not have any plans to change that windows phone could be better but sadly like android they fail on the os I am all about the software and just the simple fact my droid phones never got the 4.3 update and still dont have it.The phone in question is stuck on a 2 year old os.With apple the most current ios is ready for you on every phone supported due to age when its out and you are not stuck on using some old as hell os.

Apple does me, simple and just works.

Im still using an iP4 and am considering an upgrade but depending on the keynote today i may hold off for the 6

the potential fingerprint scanner alone will sell it for me. It's a much more discreet and safer form of security than punching in a PIN.

I’m very weird - but I don’t use a PIN because I feel it’s socially impolite to have to subtly shield your phone to enter the number. Plus nearly everyone I know will stare directly at your phone when you unlock it so they'd see it anyway. Admittedly this this is more because when you use your phone during a conversation, (unless you’re just being rude) it’s to show someone something of interest on it - pictures, messages etc.

And while I’m not too concerned about being that constantly secure myself, I would like to protect it from prying eyes if I happen to leave it at my desk for a protracted period of time.

I already have the iPhone 5 so I will most likely not upgrade unless it is something phenomenal like a bigger screen or if the new feature is something that really makes me go "wow".

Make. I'd try an Android phone but my grandfathered iPhone-only cheap unlimited data is keeping me with Apple. No regrets though, I'm looking forward to the 5S and enjoyed using the iOS7 beta.

Uhhhhh do you mean my AT&T unlimited data will be thrown away if I go andriod? I hadn't considered that :(

Really?

You are going to spend hundreds of dollars on a gadget that could be completely inferior to the competition just because it fits into the Apple ecosystem?

Absolutely. And I find it hard to believe Apple would release something "COMPLETELY inferior." But yes, I am.

They try and tell you the iPhone data plan won't work on any other devices. Every single year during the in between period (the time I when I sell my iPhone and use a temp before the new one ships) I have some AT&T rep argue me down when I ask them not to touch my plan. I go for a full size SIM to put in my (horrifying) Moto Backflip and they "assure" me that I won't have data and I just walk out with a smile (so long as they don't touch my plan). And every time thus far it's worked. Perhaps it's a per device basis but it's always worked for me.

Just 4.46% of respondents thinking of switching to Android. :D Ask the same question on an Android forum and the votes would be split evenly 50/50 sticking with Android/switching to iPhone.

It's amazing how we can interpret results to serve our agenda.

25% say this presentstion will determine if they switch or not, so that andriod number might be significantly higher after the fact, if this of course was a proper scientifically representative study.

I figured on an Apple forum it would be closer to 90-95% upgrading. I am also surprised, but then again I also never thought I would be this close to switching to Android, but I am.

Not enough poll options. Staying with Android regardless. Keynote will decide whether switching back to iPhone. Staying with Android until Apple make a 5" iPhone.
