Nope, theres nothing up in the air. The iPhone 5S will be the top phone in the market. Period

Tomorrows event will just push Apples advantage over its competition even further.

I have an HTC One, and it's 100x better than any iCrap! I can use NFC and a 6" 500ppi screen.

This is really funny. I knew Samesung had recruited an army of people to post on forums to try and sell their plastic, but this is over the top. A tiny minority of people in the poll are foolish enough to say they are going to Android but the majority of comments are Samesung army men. It's getting tiresome guys, give it away.

Here is something funnier newbie. I've been a fan of Apple products and have been in this forum since 2006, yeah before the iPhone existed, and you can add me to the group of people who are considering switching to Android. I still love the iOS, but need a larger sized phone, I do not have midget hands. Whenever they decide to make a 4.7 - 5 inch iPhone, I'll come back to it. In the meantime, I'll keep enjoying my other Apple products.

Lesson: Don't assume that people who just don't think like you or are critical of Apple are just paid by Samsung. Not everyone is a fanboy. People like you remind me of 13 year-old girls defending Justin Bieber. But this is worse, we're talking about a company!

Really?

You are going to spend hundreds of dollars on a gadget that could be completely inferior to the competition just because it fits into the Apple ecosystem?

I'm happy to spend money on something that fits in to my ecosystem. I've not found my iPhone 4S lacking in any way. So I could stick with that, but I'm likely to upgrade.

I doubt any new phone will be completely inferior unless you're the sort of person that just runs benchmarking applications all day.

Ok I'll play. Yes, I have a iPhone 5 and have been testing ios7. I don't think the new iOS has enough to offer me to make me stick with iPhone, so unless I am impressed with the phone itself, I will be switching to another make for a year.

That goes for me too.

Not enough poll options. Staying with Android regardless. Keynote will decide whether switching back to iPhone. Staying with Android until Apple make a 5" iPhone.

I'm very confident you'll be coming back to iPhone after today's keynote. Please let us know after the event.

That's a pretty bold statement, given that the rumors so far have been very underwhelming. But, I hope you're right.

Personally, I'm bracing for "finger gate."

Are you confident that they will announce a 5 inch screen iPhone today? No right? Then I'm confident he will stay with his Android. He's already stated what he wants.

Well I like my 4S, but the camera is poor. The 5S will have a better camera, but it's not going to be as good as the Z1s. I'll be quite happy to sacrifice the convenience of ecosystem compatibility in order to have a better product.

Absolutely!

I'll be deciding whether I'm getting the 5S or 5C and what storage option.

No 5C option in your poll? That's going to be the real news today. I won't get a 5 or 5S, but will get the 5C if 32gig is an option.

I'm just confident whatever is announced today will be very persuasive and will have smartphone fans drooling. We'll see though in a few hours.

There's basically no chance of that happening because it's not going to be a bigger screen. Biometrics? I already have Fitbit ultra and Fitbit flex. Easier payments? I don't need a way to make payments easier! :D

More secure lock screen? That's a gimmick, just like the fingerprint sensors on laptops.

Actually I should have made that more clear. What I meant was there should be 3 more poll options.

1 - Staying with Android regardless
2 - Keynote will decide whether switching back to iPhone
3 - Staying with Android until Apple make a 5" iPhone.

I have five Macs, two iPhones, three iPod Touches, an iPod classic, three Apple TV's, a Time Capsule, three Airport Expresses and an Apple Hi-Fi.

That's a great big, interconnected ecosystem that works beautifully together, no way will I buy another phone other than an iPhone.

Besides that, my wife has been nagging me for the last six months "when is the new iPhone coming so I can get your old one?"...

nope. sticking to my i5. have always skipped the 'S' series since i3g days. always.

my wife on the other hand, goes for the 'S' series. always. :D

win-win.

Definitely go for the iPhone 5S, I've sold my Nexus 4 a few days ago. I just hope it could be available since today. Hate days without any phones! (Alright...the Nexus 4 left a little too early.)

The HTC One looks a nice enough phone, but unfortunately, you're stuck with a vastly inferior app store.

Last year, I went from iphone to a Samsung Galaxy S3, followed by a Nexus 4,and back to iPhone.

The iPhone's build quality, app store choice and quality, and iOS's lack of lag, freezing or crashing, makes it better than any Android device, for me.

A blue shell on a 5 won't tip me over the edge, nor will Touch ID on a 5S. There's no larger screen - so I'll stick with the 4S for another year.

Yep.

The thing for me is that Android is mature enough to be a viable option. My first encounter with Android was 1.5, which was terribly choppy and unstable. 4.2, however, is a smooth well thought out OS that is significant competition to iOS. I've been a lurker on Macrumors since inception and a member for almost a decade and even I can see that Android is a good product (other than the harvesting of all my information for Google to resell...)

If Apple isn't offering the hardware people want then there are lots of other good options out there running on a OS.

Who's the 13 year old girl getting upset at being called out for your corruption? Very juvenile and defensive post, you blew yor cover with it.

Ever used an Android phone? It back to the dark ages...reminds me of when Ubuntu used to ask "please select your x-server". Fiddly and user unfriendly.
