Will WatchOS 10 have new digital watch faces for Series 8? I would like to get more digital watch faces. I don't really want to buy a new watch for it either, as the Series 8 still works really well and is only a year old.

As for leather? That's what's holding you back from upgrading? Apple has every right to use whatever materials they want. You will not have problems finding a 3rd party leather band/case if it's that important to you.
my threshold to buy a new awu2 was so absolutely low that ANY upgrade wouldve triggered a purchase and apple still somehow managed to under-deliver.

all things equal, i value the awu1 higher due to the virgin titanium and dont view the awu2 as an "upgrade", its more like an awu1.5 if anything, A new chipset wont make a noticeable difference for me. At no point did i ever wish my awu was faster

the point of the post was that apple, imo, is going in the wrong direction at the cost of its customers. While awu didnt come in gold, their phones famously did, and i always purchased gold when it was an option. This years offerings for the awu2 andiphone 15 pm leave a lot to be desired. As for regular apple watches, theyre not even in consideration after owning an awu

And why is that any of your concern? Can I not do what I want? Do I need approval first?
Wow, 3 questions. I’ll take them in order:
-Because this is an open forum where people share their opinions.
-Only you can answer that.
-Well if it will help then….Yes, please feel free to upgrade 😊

Honestly i can trade in my AW Ultra with apple and get 400 euro back and still need to pay 500 bucks for the AW Ultra 2. Honestly i much much much rather buy a Oculus quest 3 for that money, as my Quest 2 is the best hardware i have purchased in years.

Nothing else get used that much amongst my 2 kids and myself, i like my Ultra but in hidensight i would have stuck with the latest regular AW watch instead.

the big miss on all Apple Watches so far and a miss that really disappointed me with the ultra 1 was no ability to use 3rd party sensors. Now that the ultra 2 can connect to Bluetooth wheel sensors I should be able to finally ditch the garmin and use an ultra 2, connected it via Bluetooth to speed sensor and use strava.

Maybe I’m missing something but Apple Series Watch and the Ultra has long been able to connect to third party Bluetooth sensors. It hasn’t been able to connect to ANT+ but that’s a different protocol.

I have the Apple Watch ultra and the new ultra 2 is not worth it to upgrade for me.

The main difference is a brighter screen and the tapping feature and lastly a better system where Siri is much quicker….I’ll wait for a better upgrade in the next year or two.

Beware of the brighter screen and the cheaper price. The price slightly cheaper is to compensate the sunglasses needed because of the brightness of the Watch Ultra 2 screen;)
Joke aside, I live in Malaysia and I’ve never felt that the screen of my Watch Ultra was weak…

Never thought I'd be interested in the Ultra 2, but the battery life has gotten my interest.

Having only had S4, S7 and pre-ordered S9 - battery life is double for the Ultra...

Can't wrap my head around paying the same price as an iPhone 15 for a watch that doesn't do what an iPhone can do.....

I have the Apple Watch ultra and the new ultra 2 is not a necessary upgrade for me - but life is short - so I decided to do it, even if it is not a wise decision - but hey - Steve told us "stay hungry, stay foolish" 😎😁

But seriously - the Ultra is the best Apple Watch I had - and gets 95% of wrist time (what I was not expecting initially) over my S8

I bought one but just cancelled. I could swear that I read somewhere that the HR sensor was new and improved and yet now I could not find where it is. I will keep my Ultra 1 as the Ultra 2 does not offer anything new for me.

It was a rumour though they didn't end up upgrading it

well, you can go under water up to ~ 100ft with the Ultra - I would not recommend that with an iPhone... ;)

What you get with Ultra is Ti, sapphire, larger screen & battery, more rugged and a few other things, but only you can decide if that is worth the $$ for you

Two reasons why I'm upgrading from Ultra to Ultra 2.

1) On-board Siri. I can't even count how many times I had to deal with Siri struggling or failing a simple command just cause I'm slightly out of range from my iPhone. And it doesn't seem to switch to cell data fast enough to solve. So this will be very welcomed upgrade for me.

2) The double tap feature looks very useful. I just hope I can set it to silence calls instead of answering them. 😅

2) Is already available in Accessibility > AssistiveTouch, used it for months and works great.

Thanks - you should work for Apple - you'd make an excellent Apple Watch sales rep!

I'll see how the battery life is with the S9 I have ordered and since I am a bit soured by the lack of Magnetic bands, I may end up returning it and order a Ultra 2.

Well, thank you for your 1st sentence, I think ;)

I think your approach to the S9 or U2 is a good one, as long as you return the S9 within 14 days (should you decide to do so) so you’re not out of money…

I tried, I really tried. But it’s just not æsthetically pleasing to me. Had it been available in a dark color, I would have gone for it. I opted for a black series 9.
