Will you sell your iPad 3 for iPad mini ?

If it looks like this, most certainly.

I will not. I use mine alot for reading and the iPad 3 retina display is really nice for that ;)

Not a chance in hell.

My iPad has replaced my iMac as my go to computer, I never imagined I would use it as much as a I do. I don't have any need or wish to downgrade to a smaller screen.

No. My iPad 3gen is perfect for all the pdf reading I do at work, and I don't need a mini on top of that. If I didn't use it for that particular purpose, I might have changed it. I quite like the size of 7" tablets.

I am most definitely planning to do this. I love my iPad 3 but then I don't. It's too heavy and takes too long to charge.

Anyone else selling if the rumored iPad mini becomes reality ?

HELL #$%#$ NO! the ipad mini is a waste of material and resources. hate the damn thing and it's not even released yet. give me a larger ipad tho...13" perhaps?!

I think I'm gonna use my ipad3 until its death.

I went through too many exchanges before I got one with a good screen. Plus I like the bigger size

I bought my iPad 3 the middle of Sept so I have until the end of Oct to return it. Won't be for a mini, I prefer the larger screen. I will get an updated iPad if they update it.

How can any say that they are going to sell your iPad 3 when you don't even know for certain that we are going to see a iPad mini its all still rumours floating around the internet.

When i see the press conference then i believe until then it just rumours floating around the internet.

I think if the mini has cellular connection, it could replace my iPhone rather than my iPad.

Exactly. Instead of an iPad Mini, an iPhone HD. The iPhone is too small for my needs. I travel and need to view edit spreadsheets on the go. I'm considering the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, unless Apple offers a bigger device with phone capabilities.

I thought about it, but decided to get the Kindle Paperwhite instead.

My desire for a smaller screen and lighter device is for reading. The iPad gets too heavy after extended reading sessions.

As awesome as the retina display is, the new e-ink display is superior for reading. A lot less eye strain and a lot more comfortable for my eyes, especially at night.

I'm not going to be doing any serious web surfing (or Macrumors posting) or any other apps on the Kindle. Just reading.

I prefer the larger retina display for web surfing and games.

I think the iPad mini is a great idea. But since I already have the iPad 3, I decided a dedicated ereader was a better choice for me and for what I wanted a smaller device for.

I'm not sure if i'll sell my ipad3. I also have the nexus7 and love it and find myself using it more than my ipad. But the ipad is better than the 7 incher for watching movies and tv. My cable provider has a free app to watch all tv on my ipad so its a portable wireless hd tv anywhere in the house. I'll find myself watching the news on the ipad while surfing and doing email on my nexus 7. That said i might sell the n7 if the mini has a rear camera which the leaked photos shows it has. BUT if the mini is over-priced -- meaning more than $300 i might stay with great and lesser priced nexus7 and wait for it to be updated with a rear cam. Apple would be crazy to ask for $300 up for a 16gb wifi mini. Theres just to much great competition below $300. Plus i really REALLY like android now. The nexus is my first experience with it and its more fun and fast and more flexible than ios with jellybean. Moreover every app i use on my ipad has an android equivalent. Actually if a nexus 10 with two cameras and jellybean and retina was released i might sell my ipad for it.

I have a kindle 3G for reading in the sun and less conspicuous reading in public. For those that just want to read, I think the kindle makes a nice companion to the iPad.

As was mentioned, the bigger screen is better for video, magazines, photos, photo editing, PDFs, etc... The trade off is it won't fit in a purse...since I don't carry a purse, I don't see much upside for the trade off.

I use my iPad to look at PDF textbooks and articles.
I think the iPad mini would get annoying with the scrolling, but it would be nice to have a lighter, smaller iPad... I use my iPhone to surf a lot, when I'm too lazy to get the iPad out, so I don't really need a mini.
Who am I kidding, I'm brainwashed and will probably buy any stupid thing Apple release :(

Stupid? You ll see that it will be a great hit on women/kids cause of its form factor... also a great alternative for people like me who are waiting for a lighter/thinner ipad (maybe ipad 4) :p. The ultimate present for Christmas period :)

I have an iPad 2 and just bought the Paperwhite for reading. It definitely serves its purpose. I don't plan on buying a mini but I might buy the next generation of iPad.

Lol, I don't mean the iPad mini is stupid, I think it'll be great. I meant stupid as in I can barely stop myself from buying everything they make!

No way would I want to go to a 7.8 inch screen after been used with the almost 10 inch screen of the iPad/iPad 3.

For me the current sized iPad is still portable enough, its not as if the iPad Mini will be pocket sized so your still going to need to carry it around or place it in a bag, rucksack.

I'm definitely thinking about selling my 3. Just picked up a Kindle Paperwhite today. Between that, my iPhone, MBA and iMac, there are only very specific usage scenarios where my iPad fits in. Maybe surfing in bed (although I'm typing this on my iPhone in bed now), watching movies on a plane perhaps. Other than that, it seems a little extraneous at the moment. My other beef with the 3 is that it's a tad bit unwieldy. It's not that it's heavy, but it's just not the most comfortable device to use for extended periods. An iPad Mini with a retina display would probably be perfect.

totally agree.
At first i loved the ipad3- until I started taking it with me around the city(bus, subway, etc.) It's is awkward to pull out in a bar. It is a tad heavy and large on the subway- (not to mention it's a $700+ device you're holding on the subway!!)
I began to notice folks with kindles, nooks and I envy them.
These huge ipads remind me of when cell phones where the size of bricks.
How many 17inch laptops do see in coffee shops these days?
Not many- and when you do- it looks silly.

IMO- the large ipad will give way to the slightly smaller form factor in the next few years.

ipad mini for me if it's $399 or less.
otherwise a Kindle or Nook HD

I will sell my iPad 3. Too get the newer upgrade iPad 3 when they come out I hop it is lighter And even more power full them the 1st iPad 3
