I assumed pricing would be the same as the 6 series and Prosser seems to confirm that in his article. We know all the color choices so there shouldn’t be much left to think about once the orders go live. I still wish they would clarify who is eligible for the $100 rebate on the cellular model. The news release indicates you have to buy it directly from Apple. I was hoping to order from Best Buy because I have a 10% off coupon that includes Apple products but if the $100 rebates is not available through Best Buy that pretty much makes it useless.

Right, because you have to order it the exact minute it becomes available for pre-order. You are not permitted to wait until everything is revealed, review all the information, and then make an informed purchasing decision. It’s the law, really. If you wait even an hour after pre-orders go live, you’re technically committing treason.
LOL

I agree. Apple is obviously not making a big fuss about this update, so why are the fans so outraged? it's an incremental update. Probably it's a good deal for those still with the series 3 and 4 just for the display.

Everybody just pretend that the pre-orders start NEXT Friday. That way you’ll have a week to consider.
If having the watch on launch day is more important than knowing what it is you’re actually buying, well then I don’t know what to say. We were and are still in a global pandemic…

I personally wonder if the sneaky surprise is just a touch of a price bump

Maybe $429 starting out now type of thing..

Apple has confirmed ONE price point and it is “starting at $399” which is the same as Series 6. Now it’s possible the 45mm models could be more than $429 or perhaps they are raising prices of the stainless or titanium models. My guess? Prices will be the same but you never know…

Meanwhile, people who *actually* work from home are concerned about their teams losing productivity by being forced back into the office. SMH at the ignorance.
Yeah Apple, Google, Microsoft became the juggernauts they are from having its work force working from home.

This is a weird launch but I don't think it will matter. Goes without saying that there will be more willing launch customers than available stock (me included - upgrading from a Series 4). They'll put out the details with the launch but those of us chomping at the bit will be too busy rushing to get an order in to read it. Won't matter because we have several days to cancel if we see something we don't like. But we won't. The S7 is clearly a better Apple Watch and I doubt it will cost more than maybe an additional fifty bucks on the high end models.

Nevertheless, lots of folks will surely be ordering one, especially those with watches that are 2 or 3 generations old.

Apple's website will also naturally have a more complete description of the Watch 7 tomorrow, so anyone who really wants to study the differences will have the ability to do that before ordering.

I really don't see this as such a big problem or issue. Don't order one until you know enough about it to be sure it is what you want or need!
What kind of idiot would order a product, sight unseen without any specs who already has one even from S3 onwards ? What would be the point unless you know what the upgrade is about.
only logical reason would be if you didn’t have one already.

Hopefully this won't also mean a rushed launch with a ton of bugs...

That's exactly how this happened. Tim approves everything because he wants money. Half baked iphone? LAUNCH IT! Half baked watch? LAUNCH IT! Half baked iPad? LAUNCH IT TOO!

Drama much? Yes, the Mini has had issues. But the iPhone 13 has been solid, and I expect the watch should be too.

Why so many complaints on price? Either you can afford to buy it or you can’t.

Too many here are stressing out over nothing. The specs will be the same as the Series 6 (not counting the AoD brightness, larger screen, and faster charging). The price will probably be the same as the Series 6 as well. If you plan on buying tomorrow and see the price is more than you want to pay, you have your answer. There is nothing complicated about tomorrow morning. All this is really about is people here wanting to get the watch on launch day and upset that this year might be different. If your world is revolving around getting this new watch and nothing else matters right now, you might want to stop and take some personal inventory of what is really important.

On the other hand, I feel that he is old and losing his energy. He seems much less interested in his products now.

Better delay it than launching like this.
