Thats what my wife said. She has a 6s on iOS 11 and still loves it.

Only real reason I am considering upgrading is to get a plus model for the larger screen. The $130 price difference between the 8 plus and the 7 plus is well worth it especially considering it is double the memory. Apple used to charge $100 for that alone without the updated processor, camera, etc.

Go for it! You can probably walk into a store now and buy one :)

If the X didn’t exist, people would’ve been lining up to get the 8. I got it, it’s fsster, better camera, better display, better speakers. It is like a 7S but so what’s, the 7 was like a 6SS ya know?

Nope. If the X didn’t exist, I would’ve bought a Samsung by now. Not many people are gonna line up for the same old lazy design from 3 years ago.

Note 8. best phone ever made. I can do so much more with spen abilities and I'm a talented guy

All my friends in the wireless industry said today felt much more like a launch day than yesterday, for what that’s worth.

My thinking is because Friday is a business day for most, and then Saturday being a weekend, most likely have time to flock to an Apple store to purchase the latest iPhone or Apple Watch.

I agree.
This repeat same thing with slightly better chip and we keep raising the price thing is not working out too well.
Then they come out very late to the game with an OLED screen that they wont have in stock for another 3-4 months and jack up the price to a $1000.
Hell no.

The 8 / 8 Plus in my opinion isn’t a good release nothing exciting. However the X release is very exciting but price wise I’m not sure if I’m going to get it. I’m still very happy with my 7. In the past I always upgraded to the newest release, this time around I’m contemplating getting an Apple Watch 3 instead.

I went to Apple store to check the models out, and I can attest to what you are saying. It's weekend. People gotta go to work on weekdays. Students gotta go to school, right? You're right. I saw a lot of people today...but not as packed as other "launch days" like ip6 and ip7.

Great release for me.... 1st iPhone since 3gs days. Had an Xperia Z3 which was showing its age, bought a 2nd hand Samsung S8 a week before the iPhone 8+ so I could use them side by side. The S8 will be sold before long :)

What’s funny is I actually think there will be a lot of interest in the 8 when the X is realeased. Not just because of stock but because I don’t think a lot of people really realize how different the price point is.

I am on a family plan with 10 iPhone user. Only three of us have a model that is not the most inexpensive of the respective generation. These are users who could benefit from higher capacity / bigger screens but refuse to pay even a few dollars more a month for it.

I feel like my experience is more typical than folks in this forum realize. Don’t get me wrong, the X will sell fast and there will be a delay for preorders but it will not be the phone in everyone’s hands. A lot of people are going to get ready to order and see the price and might choose something else.

It’s only “bad” because the X exists. As a year over year release this is pretty big - design change, wireless charging, camera improvement, fast charging, speed increase, BT 5.0, true tone display.

Look at 6S to 7 - we got a tiny design change (no antenna bands on back), camera improvement (on the plus it was a bigger jump), speed increase, new home button, improved display.

I can’t see how people are complaining about the 8 when it is a much bigger update than last years.

The only thing that is bad to me is the uptick in price. I am not upgrading, but I think it was wrong to increase the price of the 8 and 8+ for those who do upgrade.

If 8 or 8+ work for you, awesome. If you prefer the X, that's great too. I won't knock anyone else for their choice.

As far as Apple, if it's a failure due to the price increase, that's the only fail I'd root for. I cannot condone these price hikes and really hope Apple stops this going forward (but with Tim Cook at the helm that's just a dream.)

No doubt the strategy has serious problem
If the plan is iphone X first, big sales, then continue the fever to iphone 8/8+, then should be much better.
This is like once the fire is off by iphone 8/8+, it is very hard to turn on again.
