would you buy a Physical Keyboard as an Add on?

i'd rather just stick with the iphone keyboard. the physical keyboard would just make the iphone clunky and heavy.

honestly, the only people i heard complain about the iphone keyboard are the ones who don't understand how to use one and jam their entire freakin finger onto the keyboard and ask why it's not working. it's because they're pressing like, nine keys at the same time  tip of your fingers people, tip of your fingers.

its not that i have a problem typing, im good at it on the iphone im just not as good as i was on my blackberry. go to mobiletypingtest on your iphone and see if you can beat me, 78 WPM! im on the leaderboard.

true, typing on an actual keyboard is relatively easier than using a touchscreen to type with. i can type much much faster with an actual keyboard.

i'm just saying, that the difference between an physical keyboard and the iphone keyboard wouldn't justify me actually paying money for it. it just doesn't seem worth it to me. knowing apple, the keyboard will be like thirty bucks.

30 $ wouldnt be worth it? id pay 50. but apple wouldnt make it, it would have to be 3rd party

I wouldn’t because after all what’s the point of having a portable device if you have to make it less-portable by adding bulky hardware that you have to carry around with you?

who said it would be bulky? it could be the size of a flip case. keyboards can be so small and it could dock into the the dock connecter when you slide your iphone in the case.

It still would be an additional thing I have to carry around, regardless of the size. Plus the fact I would have to pull it out and connect it every time also hurts the usability. Furthermore, it’s not like I’m writing a novel on the iPhone, I’m maybe sending a hundred word or so e-mail – MAYBE – and that’s manageable with the current keyboard.

its not like this is a product set in stone, there could be some sort of switch or something to use it only when you wanted to.

people are being to specific, the original purpose of this thread was just a physical keyboard as an add on, not how big it was, or how it was morally wrong to txt in class.

I use to have one for my Palm a long time ago and I hated it. So No, I don’t want one! ;)

No, I would rather save that money towards the AT&T bill every month. I love the virtual keyboard on the iPhone. That and I wouldnt want to carry the keyboard around. I wouldn't have anywhere to put it.

that's why i wouldn't want to have a physical keyboard; it's an add-on. i like the fact that the iphone is a simple sleek phone, and by other phone standards, is rather thin and compact. i feel like if i really wanted a physical keyboard, i would have just gotten a blackberry in the first place, or a sidekick for that matter.

and 50 bucks? if it was fifty bucks, i wouldn't even bother considering the keyboard as something i'd want. the way i see it, there's already a fully functional keyboard in the iphone, it helps me autocomplete words, and the buttons on the iphone keyboard won't get stuck or lose any buttons. therefore, unless if the add-on was fairly cheap, i would not buy it.

you wouldnt have to put it anywhere, it could be attached to the phone like a case.

The OS helps you auto complete words and would still do that with a keyboard.... for 50 it wouldnt be cheap and ive never had keys get stuck on my 5 blackberries that i have owned...

i'll admit, that does look really nice and clean. is that just a concept design or an actual product that's out on the market right now?

then again, i don't really like cases on iphones. it adds to the weight and size. just my own opinion tho.
