I was referring to price for what you buy. I won't buy a $300 or 300euro ipad mini with 3mp camera single core A4 and 1024x768 just because older apps will work.
I want a quality product from apple which is expected.
oh and retina is full HD+. so HD displays aren't considered crappy.
There has been hundreds of uses of the term "Retina" in this thread.
But has anyone tried to define it for a 7" tablet. i.e. Can't see the pixels at a "normal" reading distance.
If it is 1024x768 on a 7.85" screen, that would be significantly higher than any non-retina display - except the older phones, whaich are held much closer.
But it would be a little lower that the 15" MacBook Retina.
I'm tempted to suggest Apple use the "Near-Retina" designation for the iPad Mini 1.
My guess, a iPad2 resolution and approximate spec, at $299 or $349 price point for 16Gb.
Why wouldn't a potentially new iPad not have retina?
iPad Mini?
One word "cost"
No retina means I'm picking up a new iPad this weekend.
How do you know there's no retina?
Guys are you sure for the ipad mini?.... what about if Apple introduces a silence update (rev. b) of the new iPad![]()
I wouldn't buy either until it was officially announced. Seems silly to discuss it now as it just raises expectations for those that take this forums posts for gospel
