Sure would. I'm sure whatever screen/resolution they go with, it's going to be acceptable.

acceptable?....why is that? Please elaborate...

The target audience for the ipad mini is the more cash strapped tablet audience, they want an Apple tablet as cheaply as possible.-t

Lol! the ignorance...no offense but that is a load of crap. I am 1 member of that audience and a spot on screen IS A MUST for long hours of reading content. Plain and simple.

I dont care about usability, the OS, the brand if my eyes will be tearing from squinting and pixelated documents.

Absolutely. My main focus for the mini would be reading and if it's 1024x768 then that is good enough for me. Only need a wifi one so hoping for a 16GB iPad mini for a good price.

Price point is going to be way more important to me then retina on a mini....would be happy with sub $300 non retina mini

If I had unlimited amounts of money, I might. However, I'm now on a tighter budget and I have enough toys. :p

Hard to imagine using something smaller than an iPad (aside from the iPhone) with a non-Retina screen.

However, those without iPads might find it useful and it could find it way into workplaces.

Originally I had no interest in an iPad mini. I have a iPad 3, which I love and use every day. However, yesterday I just figured out my perfect use case. I work for a large corporation and constantly go to meetings where I am away from my desktop computer. I am currently able to access my corporate email through the Good for Enterprise app on my phone.

I won't carry an iPad to work, it's too big and too heavy. However, if I had a 7 inch iPad mini with 3G/LTE I would take that to work and all of those meetings I have. I could load Good on the iPad mini and use it for taking notes as well. It would replace the notepad I already take to each meeting. If I could do all that with an iPad mini I won't care if it's not retina. My mom has a Nexus 7 and I think the screen looks pretty good a 7 inches.

NO, I'm not getting any of Apple products without Retina anymore - Apple thunderbolt Display is fine, I cant look on iPhone 3GS screen anymore, the same is for iPad2... Retina is soooo crisp..

No problem at all. Still using my iPad 1 with no Retina. Haven't gone blind yet. For an iPad mini, the price is the most important thing to me. $299 or less or I'm buying a Nexus 7.

I just bought the new iPad for Retina & LTE, so if I buy the mini it would be for Portability.

My answer is, yes.

It would be an advantage of nexus 7, their only competitor.

Because I don't think Apple would put a sub-par screen on the iPad Mini. They will do what is best. The iPad 1 and 2 weren't horrible looking.

I just hope they reach the 200+ PPI range then i'll be over the moon!

That is ALL I want on the mini. And I would pay more if there was a option for it (more than $200 I mean)

Last fall I bought a Vizio Tab (which I returned after a week) which was not a very good tablet, but had the form factor of this rumored iPad Mini. It had an 8" 4:3 1024x768 display. I actually was quite comfortable with that resolution and size. While retina would be better of course, I'd be fine with a screen and res of this spec.

Looking at the 8" tablet in the video , thats a perfect size for me , the nexus 7 from the videos i've seen look too small

What if is like the current ipod touch , not really like the iPhone screen but almost

The ipod touch screen is not retina. Right? Is like one step down

iPod Touch's current model uses the iPhone 4/4s display - so also retina.

word is the iPad Mini will boast an IGZO display, which stands for indium gallium zinc oxide, from Sharp. Sharp's IZGO displays can be fitted for extremely thin hardware devices and can reportedly handle 330 ppi. They are also said to feature better brightness.

Is 330 ppi good?

If these specs turn out to be true I am selling my third gen iPad immediately!! I think this would really appeal to new buyers plus every existing Apple lovers, regardless if they already have an iPad or not currently. Hope the fourth gen iPad gets this display next update, thinner, no heat!

Its likely that they'd go with 1024x768 instead of a new resolution to avoid fragmentation. Also going with that resolution means the current apps work without any modification. That would give a pixel density of ~160 on 7.85" screen.

No is not really retina from what i read

By retina display Apple means the pixels are so small that eye cannot distinguish at normal viewing distance. Retina display is just a marketing term, both iPhone 4/4S and iPod Touch have 326ppi 960x640 screen only difference being IPS.

Yea i read the ipod touch screen is not as good as the iPhone 4screen

the fragmentation that would be avoided would only last 1 or maybe 2 years until they will have to face that problem. It is not a solution by any means!

Why not plan for the future if you know what I mean, but i have to agree with you that it will most likely be 1024x768 :(

As i travel a lot and move everywhere i would prefer a smaller tablet. I think that if the iPad Mini comes true i would be from the first ones to buy it :D

I personally wouldn't buy one without a retina display, but would consider it if they did include it.

Apple has a history of blowing people away during product launches with features that people didn't expect. They could do this one of two ways with the iPad mini. Either retina display or 4G LTE models.

I would get the ipad mini for reading so retina is not crucial.

Only worry is if it is tiring on the eyes. Doesn't seem to be a consensus on this.

Absolutely, I still have not changed my mind.

Retina is not the "only" way to go.

Although I understand those who've been programmed by Apple to think so. :)
