Only if I get two of them for that price...
Oh and I need one that's closer to the size of the iPhone SE...

In other words I will be rocking my SE for another year...

I originally voted 'no,' but it all depends on the payment options available through the Apple Upgrade program. I'm already paying $41.58/month, so...

No offense, and I don't mean to question your fiscal responsibility because I obviously know nothing about you or your financial situation, but this is why so many people are in massive debt and causing themselves a great deal of stress and uncertainty. At the end of the day, no matter what attractive payment plan they offer, you're still paying $1500.
People always say, "well... I'd just be paying this much more each month. That's not such a big deal". But it still amounts to the same. Everyone knows this on an intellectual level, but on an emotional level it feels different, and people end up over extending themselves and wondering why they're never getting ahead financially.

It's always hilarious to me to hear the podcasting shills go on and on about the color and the screen and the feel and "it's so good and so much better" and just have audible sex about it over and over…every year...

The disparity between what they always describe about new iPhones and what I find when I go play with one of them in the store is just amazing.

Although I am a huge fan of the iPhone, I’d have to draw the line at $1000 let alone $1200 or $1500. I’d have to get the previous generation phone (I have the 7 now. Maybe I’d go to the 7+) I just can’t imagine what the IPhone would do or be made of to justify such a price.

And people will say when they see your new iPhone 8, "You paid what" for that? Then they walk away laughing

Good thing I don't value the opinions of people like that.

Would I pay $1500? Yes, it's only slightly over what I've already budgeted for one. I'm on a great sim only deal that costs £89 for the entire year.

The decision gets a little more difficult if that translates to £1500 over here. Not because I can't afford it but I have to draw the line somewhere. Can't see it being that much though. Maybe for a 512gb version, which I don't need yet.

Maybe, but only if I need a new phone when it is released, and if it is the same body size as the 5s/SE.

For me while I can afford it like most - I am not paying that amount for the i8

I paid $979 plus tax for i7 plus 256gb - I was on a device payment plan and then did the get out of red promo for T-Mobile

The max I am willing to go for the i8 is below $1200 plus tax at launch

Otherwise I will wait until it doesn't sell or sells slow down and catch a BB or Target $300 gift card deal later or keep my i7 plus

This will be the first iPhone I would have ever waited for pass presales since the iPhone 4

I would sell my house and all of my clothes for an iphone. I would keep my rolling papers, though.

I'm a few credits shy of my "market analyst" degree so this is just my uneducated opinion...
I think Apple would be making a huge mistake if they price the iPhone over $1,000. I'm still using a 6S and this was the first time I didn't get the most current iPhone. I'm getting older and lamer and doing a lot of adulting which sucks but I just couldn't justify the purchase. Unless the iPhone 8 has something new to offer I'll probably skip that one too. For me a better screen or better camera are not enough to upgrade.

If it meant every Tom, Dick and Harry didn't have the same phone as me, yes I would.

If that's all you care about why buy an iPhone at all? It's the most popular brand of phone in North America. If you want to be unique, buy a Windows phone or a non-Samsung Android phone.

You don't have to pay twice as much as everyone just to feel special.

How about considering the following scenario and substituting the 'hours' for your own values that can be obtained from the 7 day usage under 'Battery' in settings.

Part A) (Hours) x (Life of Product) = (Total Usage)
Part B) iPhone Cost / (Total Usage) = Cost/Use

For example:

The variables for my scenario:
  • One coffee at $5 and lasts for 10 minutes.
  • One iPhone at $1500 and lasts for 3 years.

Based on my iPhone usage this week:
Part A) 23 x 156 = 3588
Part B) 1500 / 3588 = $0.42 cents per hour

Therefore, a $1500 iPhone that is used on average 23 hours per week will end up costing me $0.42 per hour over its life.

Alternatively, the coffee works out to be $30 per hour!
[doublepost=1499725877][/doublepost]The other consideration is that some people may choose to trade in or sell their old iPhones to reduce the initial cost of the new phone.
