Sounds like you are wanting "free stuff", you get what I am saying.

There will be lots of people who will jump on on the 8 at the real price of $1200-$1300. People will be lining up for days to but this phone. The 8 may not be for everyone but Apple will have 7S and 7S+ units for sale, too.

Plenty of choices for everyone!
Nope, that's not what I'm saying at all.

At the end of the day it is still a phone. You talk, message, check/send email. And for some use the camera a lot. If the camera was worth the upgrade and I was one of those users, I may buy it. I do not take many pictures. So, I am not paying more for an iPhone than my 2015 rMBP cost. It and my 6s Plus are still doing great. If my iPhone starts to go I may buy a 7s Plus.

I wouldn't pay $500 but I have no need for a smartphone. The iPod touch and iPad cover my needs just perfectly. 10 year old flip- phone for emergencies.

Someone isn't a snob because they spend their money how they wish. Snobbery is the attitude that goes along with anything else in life.

Do you think anyone who buys a new car is a snob because it loses much more than $1500 the minute you leave the lot, let alone a year or two when it's worth much, much less.

...my comment wasn't a personal tweak about you. Have a balloon. :)

I said 'start'. The iPhone 7s Plus will end at $949 or $969, not start.

You also said "No iPhone will ever start above $999 in the United States.":p

Years from now, they WILL start over $1000. I am betting they will this year. No way they will be selling the 8 at the iPhone 7 price. Apple is way better at marketing than that.

But have it your way as all is just a rumor. If you want to believe the 8 will be a sub $1K iphone, you have that right.

That's a bold claim. How do you know this? But I disagree. I think the rumored 5.8 OLED model will start above a $1000.
I'm going off of logic. The 2017 premium iPhone is not going to be more than $200 more expensive than the iPhone 7s Plus.

Full price breakdown:

iPhone 7s:
32GB - $649
128GB - $749
256GB - $849

iPhone 7s Plus:
32GB - $769
128GB - $869
256GB - $969

iPhone Beyond (placeholder name):
64GB - $969
256GB - $1129

The Only thing "Exclusive" on a $1500 iPhone is the price tag. And it certainly wouldn't be the "Norm" for most. It would appeal to some and there are those who would purchase it without having a second thought. But the majority are not going to invest in a $1500 iPhone, considering what the cost is and how often do they upgrade.

A $1500 iPhone won't just sell out because it's the latest and greatest, it will also sell out because it has also an Apple logo on it.
Yep, so true about anything with the apple logo, seals the deal

Well the current iPhone 7 plus 256 GB with tax is $1,027.14, there is no doubt in my mind the iPhone 8 would be at least $1100 specially if they actually do include the air pods in the box, thats why apple is still releasing the iPhone 7s because they know not everyone will afford the iPhone 8.

What windows machine did you get?

I purchased the Surface but gave it to one of my employees and purchased the latest Lenovo Yoga and could not be more happy with it's build or performance. Has the latest i7 chip, tera ssd and 16gb ram. Has excellent keyboard. It also has ports!

It is what we refer to as the doomsday machine. It is kept updated with the office and would be used if something like the building burnt to the ground.

My customers would still want to pay!:p

No particularly if it were because of some fancy case material as they did with Apple watch. Maybe if it had a 72 hour of full use battery or some other fantastic feature but not if it came with air buds because I would never use them

Just trying to look for the positive side of things.

It was meant as one. I can't say that I agree with the philosophy of needing to show off more exclusive merchandise to emphasize your success, but if it makes you happy and does no harm, who am I to judge?

For me it's less about showing off and more about looking down.

I wouldn't necessarily want someone to see my exclusive iPhone, but I would be comforted seeing someone else using a lesser iPhone than mine.
