Traffic data is already a feature of iOS5! Haters might want to go to: Location Services>System Services to turn it off. :p

I use the new Apple Maps all the time. if your just looking at the map trying to find a location, it worse because it take longer to load. The GPS on the other hand is amazing. This is something that should of been done a long time ago.

im sure there will be other alternative maps, google might release a third party app like many are speculating. But one question...lets say you don't update to iOS 6 will maps from iOS 5 still be available or will apple make you update to a downgraded version of maps of iOS 6 in iOS 5?

I think that is why traffic data isn't all that great in the DC Metro area, most folks probably turn that feature off. :(

How could Apple "make" you update to anything? Even if they did release an iOS 5 update with only changing maps, there would be no way to make you update. But since there is very, very little incentive to do so (I believe the iPad 1 is the only iDevice to have iOS 5 that ISN'T getting iOS 6)...

It won't happen.

You didn't really answer his question, so I will.

No, if you update to iOS 6, you will be forced into the Apple Maps native app and unable to use the current Google Maps app which is integrated into iOS.

Furthermore, Google, to my knowledge, has not indicated that they are going to create a maps app for iOS.

The area I live in the UK has had new satellite imagery added which has improved it greatly. Its not quite up to the quality of Google's imagery yet but it is more recent.

In London the problem with the satellite imagery is that the colours are really dark with not enough contrast, so it's hard to make out details!

Cmon people. Is this released? NO!
So, why are you all complaining. Complain, when it's out.
It will be good belive me!

I must admit: although it still has lots of issues, with beta 4 I am starting to get just a little bit enthusiastic about Apple Maps for the first time. It's improving.

I did answer his question. He wanted to know if you could keep Google Maps if you DON'T update to iOS 6 not if you DO update to iOS 6.

If this list has been updated from a previous one it would be interesting to see.

One thing I'd like to see is having multiple stops along my route. For example...me and my wife drive together to work (I drop her off on the way to my work). It'd be nice on my way home from work to set destination A to my wife's workplace and B to our house. Once you arrive at destination A it automatically switches directions from A to B including traffic.

Would be helpful while traveling too!

Has it EVER occurred to you this is a DEV BETA?

OF COURSE there's going to be something wrong in the Beta.

That's why if your not a Dev don't download it.

Not only that, It's illegal!

Who is the 'you' you are referring to, Troll? Who, specifically, are you addressing.

Really? 16 pages and people still haven't determined the difference between a bug and bad data, and how plays out going toward release?

This Troll reminds me of some annoying guy yelling "Citizen's Arrest" at jaywalkers and fake cuffing their wrist with their hand.

instead of wasting time and energy into 3d which isn't useful at all, apple should focus on other things that are important to maps app that is present in google

I think that if Apple was able to beat Google to their own game with 3D technology, than the rest will follow suit and quickly. You are giving Apple a fraction of the time that Google has had to built a product with a database. 3D aside, you can't deny that even week over week, Apple maps is improving in leaps and bounds.
