Just slapped the Ultra on my new phone. The application process was very simple and the adhesive is somewhat forgiving (if you royally misalign it the first time you can peel it off very easily and realign it, oh and it stretches so you can fit it to the contours). The directions were well illustrated and concisely written for ease of execution.

This is all coming from someone who has a history of having "dumb fingers" since I've never been able to correctly put on those old iPhone screen shields in the first shot.

I can only speak for the Ultra, but when you apply the film don't be shocked if you get a bunch of tiny bubbles in the film (it seems to vary on how much you wet your fingers).

Even with the bubbles and the adhesive not being set yet the Retina display is shining through perfectly. I cannot tell any degradation in the appearance of the screen. In fact the "case" is so sleek that its almost impossible to tell at a glance if it has it on or not.

The Ultra does allow for smudges/fingerprints to land on it, but compared to the naked iP4 it's night and day. Since its oleophobic it never captures a full fingerprint (ridges and swirls), but instead has mostly smudges. Like I said, it wipes off very easily.

Here's a pic of the package and its contents.....

I thought it was dry installation? Why was any water involved at all?

This sounded like a good news. I hope I can find videos on youtube very soon.

Agh that sucks. I was getting excited thinking I got away with 2 skins for 30. Hehe probably should have checked my bank statement before jumping the gun.
I just hope they did not send me a wrong one. I dont want to go through the return/replace mess at all.:(

im curious about that too. i thought the whole point of the ultra was the dry install factor. why would your fingers need to be wet for that?

It is a dry application. The wetting of the fingers is just to ensure that your oily fingers don't leave any behind on the under side of the film so that when it does set and dry it doesn't have that oil/dirt underneath that you'll be able to see.

If you watch the application video for their original line of wrapsol you indeed have to spray water directly onto the film. With the Ultra this is not the case (no pun intended). You just peel and place.

Anyway you could post some pics of your phone? I have the matte finish on my 3GS and was always impressed, so I just ordered the Ultra kit for my iP4. Just curious as to what it looks like when applied, if you can even see it in pics.

Also, the Wrapsol on my 3GS never showed any signs of peeling up. Do you feel the dry application will have the same results? I know smaller pieces, especially those on the sides and corners, may have a greater tendency to start to peel.

Great review, please post some pictures when you can.

My Wrapsol Original just arrived at my office. Still no phone though...

!!! same problem here. Ordered a regular one when i originally bought it, then canceled it a few hours later to order the ultra. got two emails yesterday saying it was shipped. two tracking numbers were given, almost exactly the same except the last four digits. each number could be selected and went to a tracking page.

whats going on?

did you call and ask? cause i was going to do that later tonight..or monday :p

Hell no I'm not going to call! Lol. I want to wait and see if it is bugs in their system or if I really am getting 3 orders .. which I doubt but we'll see.

If you're experiencing the same thing it couldn't be an isolated thing with mine, it must be a problem in their shipments OR they felt incredibly generous?!

Would someone post some flash photos in a dark room with a Wrapsol Ultra installed on the back? Other cases/films are causing problems with flash photos. Thanks in advance.

im hoping. mines a bit of a long story though.
-ordered the original
-canceled same day, ordered the ultra
-called yesterday to change shipping to overnight, they charged me 20 (WTF)
-emailed to say i wanted to change back my shipping method and wanted my 20 back (overnight is 15 on their website. they charged me 20 extra. so add that to the 5 they originally charged, they charged me 25 dollars)
-received my tracking number at 4:40 for the original
-received my tracking number at 5:30 for the ultra
-both being sent via ground
-both have different (but almost the same) tracking numbers and different ref numbers

im hoping i get two. then i can make five dollars by selling the wrapsol. if not, im calling them back to get my refund for that shipping (they haven't responded to my emails) weird.

so does your fingers have to be wet? im guessing you can't just wash your hands and then dry them on a towel?

You have more experience with the Wrapsol brand than I do (so I'm not familiar with how strong their adhesive is), but for the tiny tiny pieces that fit between the volume buttons and over the second mic I have a feel that they will stay on since they dont over-lap with the buttons and it's in a place on the phone that would be hard to pick at/have something peel it off. As long as you apply it evenly it should be ok

Here's some pics that I could snap with the Wrapsol on (Please remember that it's been on less than 1 hour and the photos were taken with flash)

(In the 3rd pic, it is not peeling off from the bottom, I just didn't press it hard enough to edge of the surface and the pic made me realize that).

Seeing how there's still confusion....they pack a moist towelette (without the sanitizer, it's just water) in the package. It's all you really need to wet your hands.

hows the screen protector part. is it clear like a SGP or does it have texture or kind of cloudy like the invisible shields.

It seems clear to me. It still is drying fully but I did this with my clear-coat and wrapsol on iPhone 3GS and it became very clear a day or two after.

The protector isn't sticky or rubbery feeling at all. Obviously nothing like the real screen but I'll gladly use this before any other skins.

My Wrapsol Ultra shipped today for tomorrow morning delivery. So Apple Bumper on the sides with Wrapsol on front and back, hoping that they will all work together. Interested in seeing some pics of front screen after dry application if somebody would be so kind and post a few pics please? :)

Does it cover the LED flash? I can't tell from the pics.

No, it has a hole cut for the LED. All spots where there needs to be no film (front camera, back camera, dock connector, speakers/mics, headphone jack, toggle switch) there is no film covering.
