No, it has a hole cut for the LED. All spots where there needs to be no film (front camera, back camera, dock connector, speakers/mics, headphone jack, toggle switch) there is no film covering.

So you can confirm the proximity sensor area is covered? Cuz their site shows it being cut out

so millsy, whats your final opinion on the screen portion of the protector.

So far I'm enjoying my purchase. I still have several tiny bubbles underneath the film, but we'll see if in 24-48 hours they are all gone. Other than that, if you are careful with how you place it, it seems like a quality product. It doesn't mess with the color/clarity of the screen like some of the older screen films i had on my 3G. It hugs the machine like a glove without any obtrusions and I find playing FPSers or any other action game easier on the film (I always felt that the glass was sorta sticky, but maybe because it was brand new since i didnt have that problem with the 3G.) And I no longer flinch/go OCD whenever I put my phone down on a hard surface.

Can anyone confirm this? Is there a random cut out above the ear hole for the proximity sensor?

Sorry you beat me to the punch I was gonna edit my post above answering the question (never figured out how to quote multiple people in a post on this forum...others make it so much easier when you're looking at the Topic Review). The only holes cut through on the front film is for the home button, speaker, and the front facing camera. I've made calls with the film on and the proximity sensors still shut off the screen when its near your face/covered over. After the speaker hole there is nothing until the end of that side. it covers that little gap from speaker to edge of the glass.

on the areas where it was put on successfully with no bubbles, is the protector almost invisible or does it have that little orange peel/wavy look.

Does the wrapsol get rid of that reception problem? If there;s a covering in that corner then technically it's like having a case there right, and then the reception loss shouldnt happen?

Thanks in advance for all the answers

I'd like to know this as well. My ultra is sitting on my front porch right now but I'm not even sure if I'm going to install it until after my Genius bar appt on Sunday.

Perfect! Thank you very much for your thorough response. Gonna go order mine now.

Has anyone's Wrapsol original orders arrived yet? I want to see pics of the matte back!

Mine hasn't shipped yet :(

I ordered an original and also an ultra to compare. I started with the ultra and ended up taking the back section off. I didn't like the way the install turned out. It had bubbles and fingerprints where I gripped it. I found that when I tried to start from the top (by the camera) and eased my way down with the squeegee it stretched slightly and ended up being too long at the bottom.

With the original (wet application), I just sprayed the backing, dropped it on and wiped the bubbles and excess water out. It's perfect.

I got edges with both sets. One appears to be a wet application (original) and the ultra just sticks on. I didnt compare the thickness to see if they were different.

I don't have my camera for pictures, but I can answer questions if anyone has any.

Millsy can you post a picture of it in the sun?

In direct sunlight i can still read plain black & white articles and read something in iBooks just fine. The pictures don't really show what you actually see in direct sun.

(If you happen to notice that little streak on the left side of the screen it's because im an idiot with long hair and a loose hair somehow ended up under the screen when i was applying it and is not an error on them [but to be fair i cant tell its there when looking at a powered up screen])

I was playing around with the reception issue with my naked phone yesterday and was able to drop calls by choking it with my left hand (I mean i gotta basically smother all the seams with my hands). With the wrapsol ultra on it now I just tried the same thing, in the same place w/ the same # of bars shown b4 the "test" began and while the bars dropped to the lowest i was able to still hold the call and have a conversation. It's anecdotal and totally unscientific, but it MIGHT have a positive impact on the reception issue (tho to be honest my device has never been one of those squirrely ones you see on Youtube)

damn. that kind of defeats the famous "super easy install" of the ultra doesn't it :(

hahhaha
