question to wrapsol ultra users, do you also use the squeegee for the back install or nah?

I wouldn't use the squeegee at all. I've installed it twice on a 3GS and I'm convinced using it would create additional problems by stretching (even so slightly) the material to the sides. That promotes it to eventually want to pull back to the center and pull up off the corners. I think this will happen a lot less with i4 because the back is flat, but there's really no reason to use it.

You just need a tiny bit of spray (1-2 pumps) from 12-14 inches away just barely misting the surface. Lay it down, position it and very very slightly use your finger to move out any big bubbles. The tiny ones will evaporate out after 48 hours or so.

My prior installs lasted lasted 8-10 months on mine and my wifes phone, but eventually started peeling up on a corner. That drove me crazy, so I'd wind up peeling it all off. I don't see that being a problem on the new phone unless you stretch it out and I think using the rubber tool will do that and possibly mark it up in the process.

I plan to use the Wrapsol with an Incipio feather case. Primarily use using the Wrapsol to protect the glass from scratches when dust gets under the case and when I have to remove it to put the phone in a windshield mount.

Could someone post some pictures of a Wrapsol (Ultra preferably) fitted to the sides of an iPhone 4 please. Just want to check that it covers the antennas well.... I'm after it to fix the reception issue!

And I assume people are installing it dry? As liquid near the dock port / headphone jack = goodbye warranty!

what are adhesive marks?:apple:

There's usually a thin layer of adhesive on the screen protectors.. well when the thing arrived, I could see lines of adhesive. Either they adhesive wasn't properly evened out on the protector or perhaps the heat from the weather when it was being delivered? I have no idea.

I ordered a replacement (through the warranty) however. As soon as that comes, I will send my old Wrapsol back.

Is the squeegee even necessary? I thought its purpose was to squeeze out the water during a wet install.

I'm curious if I should get a couple disposable latex surgical gloves from the drug store, to make sure I don't get anything on the adhesive back.

I'd love to see a photo of the matte back if anyone has applied it. I can't really picture how it'll look and would appreciate a pic. :)

My Wrapsol Ultra should be arriving tomorrow. I should be able to get decent pictures of it, but I don't know how good of a job I'll do on the install. I've had no protection on any of my iPhones, but I figured I'd do it on the 4 because I like the bumper so much & don't really want to use a case.

My Ultra has been sitting on my kitchen table since Friday and it's killing me. I really want to put it on but I'm waiting to see what's going to happen with this antenna issue. I know a recall isn't likely but I don't want to put it on and then have to turn in my phone with the Wrapsol for a new one.

sorry haven't been following this thread..

can someone give me the cliff's notes on wet vs dry?

i really want to use the dry (ultra) but any down sides?

and how do you get a matte backside.. it's not an option on wrapsol's site

thanks for the help

almost ordered the sgp EX.. pheewwww

sorry haven't been following this thread..

You can always go back and read it :)

Ultra=dry=more protection, glossy both sides. Can be applied slightly wet
Original=wet=not as protective, glossy front, matte back.

Im still not sure which one to choose from Ultra or original. Which one will last longer and finger print resistant?

Here :) It's like a matted coat that is fingerprint resistant

another user from a different thread posted a picture of their zagg dry... looks very similar to wrapsol original

No I think the user just did a poor job of installing it. You can tell by the top right corner (in the picture) of the phone as well.

Hopefully this is the case, the matte back makes it much more evident if it is not cut right or not installed perfect.

On that note, mine still hasn't shipped. Thinking about calling them :(

You should call them. I just called them asking about my replacement. The website was very unclear on what I had to do with my old Wrapsol product. I know Zagg let you keep your old shield until the new one arrived and then you had 60 days to return your old one or you would be charged, basically, with a new shield purchase.

Turns out Wrapsol works the same way and the lady who answered (I swear only one person works there because its the SAME lady everytime) said my replacement should ship out today.

Give em a call!

I wish Power Support would release their crystal films so I can see some pictures of the crystal vs the ultra side by side to compare clarity...

I think the best combo would be the Wrapsol back and sides with the PS anti-glare screen protector. That would be bar none tha shiznit. No glossy glare and fingerprint, oil marks on the front and an awesome Wrapsol backing that's sexy as hell =)

wow, this wrapsol ultra sucks.

Got my package in today, and their quality control must be really lax, because the side pieces were thrown in all willy nilly and it got stuck to the back piece and imprinted itself into the skin. No amount of rubbing would have taken those marks off. Had to peel the side pieces off the back piece, and bits of adhesive came off onto the back skin. There goes the idea of getting those pieces to stick on.

2nd, this film is not smooth at all, it's very very thick and uneven.

After installing it twice and being unhappy with the results i just took it off and tossed it.

I'm not going to bother getting it replaced since it was a freebie from wrapsol, but they should really improve their quality control.

As for me, I'm going to go purchase a Bodyguardz back and side set and a powersupport screen protector.

Sucks, I was really looking forward to the Wrapsol ultra being a decent skin

My Wrapsol Ultra is being shipped out today. Ordered last Friday. Hopefully the ultra back film is nice cause the matte back photos are making me jealous.

Yep. I warned people about this.

Folks. Stop ordering the Wrapsol until we get some confirmation they are fixing this.

They are arriving all messed up.
