This thread is amazing. All the build up, and it influenced a lot of people to buy it, and now Wrapsol is falling down on the job. What a story arc.

You guys really have me scared about my Wrapsol Ultra. I keep putting off installing it because I have no idea if these phones are going to get recalled or whatever so I haven't even opened it yet. Maybe I should at least open it to see if I have any obvious markings or whatever on the skins themselves.

Yep. Might as well open it up so you can get it sent back while you're waiting...

:)

Read threads about other brands and you come to the conclusion that all of the skin makers were caught off guard. I just might hold my nose and put the Wrapsol on regardless, and then switch once all of them get their act together and we find out who produces a superior product.

All these posts about poor quality seem to be specific to the Ultra version- no?

Or are people also having issues with the original 'wet install' version also?

My orig arrives tomorrow. Hope it's okay.

He must've. I just tried with my side films, and it wouldn't go on.

Ok, now this is super important cause if you can't use a bumper with the Ultra then forget it. I will send mine back as soon as I get it. Will the bumper fit with just the front and back on and no sides?

Wait? someone else posted in this thread that the Bumper worked on the Ultra...

Can someone official confirm if it fits or not?

Ok, I forced it on. It "fits", but it looks bulky and the bumper looks stretched.

You guys are getting me worried... mine shipped today...

My ultra came in today, and it's perfect. My packaging also looked rough with a bit of scuff marks, but when installed and gently cleaned with the included moist cloth, it was crystal awesome. I have a couple of minor bubbles from the install, but I hope those disappear within the next 24 hours. With the ultra, you wouldn't even know that a protector's on there. Feels and looks great.

I've tried zagg and hated it. Zagg's shield felt like some cheap rubbery plastic.

The bumper (or something like it) is essential to make sure the edges b/w the wrapsol covered glass and the aluminium metal is covered as well. With the sides off, the bumper fits in fine on mine. Snug fit. If you're going to use the bumper, covering the side's with the wrapsol is not necessary anyway.

I don't think you should make your purchase based on bumper fit with the side films on. Why would you need the side films if you're going to use the bumper? Why use the bumper if you're going to use the side films?

Ok, thank you. At least one hopeful review today. :)

Did you use any liquid.

Did the sides fit your hole perfectly? Mines a mess but I used it anyways. My side pieces were stuck directly onto the back piece. Guess they decided to skimp out on plastic on mine.

Mine gets here tomorrow so your review is comforting. Thanks. Hope i get one from the better batch.

So only the outside film, the liner (they call) is rough? but once you peel it off it brand new right?

I had a screen protector that come with 3 pieces and u peel off the other two piece and the middle one is pristine

I think liquid helps because it helps reposition the wrapsol without removing it.

I used a very fine mist (one burst of spray from about 2 ft away from the plastic) of liquid. I actually used some of the left over liquid from my zagg install.

Too much liquid may also help, but I'm not sure if you want to take that bet with your pristine new expensive gadget.

My advice would be to make it as perfect as you can with your first install, and slightly stretch it to the left/right to align it perfectly. I don't recommend doing what wrapsol advises you (which is to install the top part first and then to gradually remove the cover to slide the bottom part on). I also did not use the squeegee. I sprayed some liquid on my hands, took off the plastic, sprayed a mist of liquid, aligned the top well and gradually used my thumbs and the supplied cloth to finish the install. I then proceeded to get rid of bubbles. Finally, i cleaned off the rough marks/imprints repeatedly and gently.

A bit of a technique, but seemed to have worked just fine for me. Helps if you have prior experience.

I wish this was the case with the wrapsol, but no. It comes with two pieces and the outer liner is more rougher than the wrapsol.

So this is going to sound really stupid, but I was just wiping my phone off to take pictures of the marks on the screen and most of them wiped off.

This is crazy because I wiped the phone off 20x before with the exact same cloth that came with the phone and it didn't even fade the marks. My Wrapsol Ultra has been installed for probably about 7 hours now and it cleared up. Maybe it just needed time to break loose or something.

I advise others to wait a day or so before sending it back. I am actually pretty satisfied with mine now(though it shows finger prints really bad).

This is good news. Hopefully what they are saying is true- it just needs time to cure and will look great after.
