Maybe the more power the villagers have, the more they will help the wolks indirectly.

I will be very happy to see the behind the scene at the end of this game. Maybe we will have the same results as last time.

Now there's alway a lot of possibilities why something happenned, starting to be confusing.

Well, I am not the only person who has been 'voting off good guys'.

Koodauw would hardly have been lynched on my vote alone - and - if he had moved slightly more energetically a bit earlier, he might even have succeeded in saving himself. However, that is moot for now.

I have been re-reading the rules and the roles. It seems that one of three powers (all one off powers) could have been used (privately) re the conjured votes; that of the Rioter, the Soother, and the Reverber.

The person who merits most scrutiny in my mind just now is Intell; his recovery from near certain death is extraordinary, and one is curious (well, I am) as to whether this was achieved with his active participation, or unwittingly, to make him a more inviting target for the next day or two

Re myself, what I have said is that it may be of benefit to retain my presence for a few days. For now, that is where I shall leave it.

will see if you die today...

Tsk. Wishing me a speedy demise, are you?

Strange to relate, there are other villagers out there; some a lot more suspicious, and an awful lot more silent, than I have been……..
true. but maybe they have nothing to add. you say you do, yet nothing has came from you. you continue to vote off innocent villagers, not the first vote either. i think maybe its time you give up something so we can stop losing villagers...

So Koodauw died along with my laptop this morning. Coincidence?! Probably so. But annoying.

Alas poor Macbook Pro. I knew him, Horatio.

Looks fatal to me! :( Unlike Intell I have my doubts some miracle will save it.

Rick, there are quite a number of powers in play. And, they are interacting in strange, and sometimes, unpredictable, ways. Several are inter-acting, and our wolves - in addition to their core powers, (and perhaps some WW exclusive powers) may also have a couple of the more 'standard' powers.

It is impossible that nobody else will have 'nothing to add' to the store of knowledge. Too many powers exist and are - probably - in play. Equally, however, it is absurd to think that much can be obtained from data gleaned from a single night.

Re the village, thus far, we have seen the voting conjuring act - and possibly, not for the last time, as there are three such powers which can play with this, the Rioter, Reverber and Soother. As of now, I am not sure which of these was used.

There are also the time conjuring acts - where deadlines can be extended or compressed; bear in mind that these may be in play, and can be used strategically.

Yes, I have voted twice for innocents. So has half the village. Go look elsewhere - and, with such numbers, around - I think you might focus a little more on some of the silent, MIA types.

Re Koodauw, I make few apologies; I was voting to protect myself.

How old was said laptop? Past its natural time, or life span? Commiserations, in any case...

Thanks - it's a Late 2011 15" Macbook Pro bought early 2012 - so 3 1/2 years.

Hm. Not very ancient, then.

Is it a case of inbuilt obsolescence?

Actually, I remember my stupefaction when my Professor of Political Philosophy explained that concept to me when I was an undergrad.

Or is it just a natural death of a
machine that has come to the end of its natural life span..

Count the votes and compare it to the final tally. The final tally had 16 votes so it looks like the Soother power was used. Unless someone was trying to protect Intell or someone thought that Koodauw was guilty, Intell used the Soother power to save himself.

If it makes you happy, vote for me tomorrow.

However, I suggest you start thinking - a bit - beyond the obvious.

The people I suggest you take a look at are those one off 'wasted' votes; that is the sort of place that people may hide out, especially in the earlier days.

I will need to go through the records slowly to see what exactly may have happened.

Intell will doubtless argue that he was defending himself, but - at the same time - has a few questions to answer.

In his defense, that's the case whether he's a carnivore or a herbivore. I mean, yes, it's suspicious and we can't ignore that but in itself it doesn't conclude guilt.

....would that be A Postieri or A Priori? I can't keep them straight.

Ouch that sucks. My last-gen 17" died earlier this year... First the Motherboard went, and I paid $340 to have it fixed. Then a couple months later the HD went. I'd never spend $2300 on a laptop again. Not in this day and age; goodness I could have an iMac and a laptop for what I paid for that machine. :( I name mine after major stars/constellations; AlphaCentauri is the one that bit the dust. I'm using Altair right now. I like your use of historical figures.

True, and fair point, and also, in truth, it must be said that any of us would have done the same, or used the power in the same way to protect ourselves.

However, what is of some slight interest is the way the power was used, in lieu of an argued defence.

Re Koodauw, I make few apologies; I was voting to protect myself.

just to clarify, the rioter and reverber powers could have NOT been used in this specific instance.

the public count was 7 intell, 6 koodauw.
the official count was 6 Koodauw, 6 intell
since it was one vote lost, it rules out the reverber/rioter being at play.

as mentioned above, the change can be best explained by the soother neutralizing one of the votes towards Intell (bringing the total down to 6). this could be done by intell himself as a defensive measure (which gives really not much infos about his being good or bad), or by someone else soothing to save him.
if so, why would they do it?
- intell is a villager and the soother knew so for a fact (because they are NW with intel, or morphed to intel, or NW with the seer who scanned intell)
- the soother thought intell was a villager, without being sure
- the soother thought koodauw was a baddie
- soothing was actually applied to one of the earlier votes, which THEN switched to Intell (in this case it would have served to protect the previous voted person)
- the soother is a WW and acted to protect their WW buddy intell
- the soother is a WW and acted to cast doubt towards Intell

in addition, the bluff could also have achieved the same effect, by faking a vote for Intell in the thread, and casting a vote for someone else (or a no-vote) behind the scene.
If it was the bluff at play, that would make Intell almost certainly a wolfie.

to summarize:
- intell is soother -> intell could good or bad
- NW or morpher involved -> intell more likely good
- WW soother or bluff -> intell most likely bad

EDIT: in any case i agree that intell is a "person of interest" for the next voting session.

I'pretty sure the bluff is not in play, we would had 17 votes, not 16, right ?

not necessarily: the bluff could have not voted privately, to better hide behind the soother or, based on twietee's take on this aspect of the bluff, the official count would only reflect the bluff's vote insofar as it affects the outcome of the vote. Thus a secret vote for Koodauw would have been disclosed, but a secret vote for someone else would have not.
