Interesting - confirms what I thought - the Soothe really did give us an extra day of lynching and caused Tomorrow to scan Intell rather than his first choice to scan.

OMG we got lucky with the guard kill - we were deciding between Sythas and Tomorrow. If we'd gone the other way it could have been very different as we'd have missed a kill.

The soothe was brilliant! You played an exceptional WW. WW flew partially on cruise control re kills

Lucky/unlucky: it was funny to watch from the sideline since it did meander quite a bit (kill hunter day1, hunter gets scavenged, hunter tries to kill villager, guard protects villager 19mins earlier etc pp).

re guard protection: in general I think the protection and ww-kills are not time dependend, so basically opposed to the insta-kill of the hunter which would have killed ss this game if sythas hadn't send his order right away (!). I'm fine with the protection also stopping leeching, infecting, swapping (scavenging too, although that'd be a rare/ unlikely case) etc.

I thought it funny that the whole day/night switch in the end didn't really occur in the narratives as they went into a different direction than intially intended right after the first one, lol.

Fair comment, and unfortunately, true.

We're so awesome.

I should point out also that our little game of Intell had you guys a bit confused for a day or so as well. Murky waters alwys appear deep.

@twietee thanks for a fun game.

@Don't panic I'll win next time.

@Moyank24 @Plutonius and @FenrisMoonlight well done my hearties. I'll be in a team with you all any day. Esp Moyank... in the face of flooding and outages you brought us victory quite easily.

@rick snagwell - you were wonderful, absolutely wonderful :p. If I'm a wolf, you can be a villager anytime by my book.

Melrose thought you were getting too close to the truth and needed to die.
Melrose is awesome.

with a little more cool-headedness at the end, we could still have won
You never stood a chance, dear boy. :p You were a dead man walking the instant you weren't a WW. Are you doing a Blade Runner game?

Sorry again to Melrose The Gourmet as I messed up the Bluff (had that role still in the General Pool when assigning) and to the wolves in general since a Lost in The Woods rule would heve helped them tremendously..
I was a bit confused on roles anyway. No worries.

Fantastic team work (and tactical and strategic awareness), wolks (or wolves). Very well done. Terrific team, who were superb together.

Actually, I applaud your cool chutzpah, even as I deplore missed opportunities and some poor choices that were made elsewhere.

Mmm. Well. Next time, I suppose. I'm sure all who actively participated did their best with the info they had. I think the village was tremendously harmed by a number of non-participating villagers. The villagers minus the dead weight was actually a much smaller group, which means a smaller margin of error. I did, however, pick up some player nuances in this game that proved to be correct that I'll be using again next game. So not a total waste.

Seriously, this is an issue we need to look at.

Everybody has commitments, personal and professional, and people can need to go missing for a couple of days; that is normal and nobody is bothered by it.

But this time out, there were individuals who were missing for weeks on end, and it did have an effect, not just on the village but on the game. Granted, had the non-participants been wolves - or wolks - it would have been even worse (and again, great game by the wolks) again.

And herein lies the challenge with the infection....

:D

Oh, absolutely. (I seem to recall harbouring some dark suspicions which were snuffed out.)

I was on to you, Pluto. Watch your back. ;)

She's always a prime infection candidate, I'd wager to say she's infected the most of any player.

Yes, but is that not a testament to her perceived awesomeness? And how good a wolk she is when turned?

No, the wolves are only forced to infect early on if they feel the Alpha is threatened on day 1; they can still infect at Night, and the Seer cannot be protected every night, and, even then, - is only protected every other night if it is known who he/she is, so I don't see that as a valid argument.

Merely because you did not feel it useful in this game - apart from neutralising the power of the village by denying them the power - does not negate the fact that it is the strongest weapon of the village.

If the Seer gets killed - either at night, or by a kami, so be it. Likewise, if the seer is infected, so be it - the game has always had those risks.

However, I do think that the power ought to be qualified and limited if it is to be leeched; otherwise, the WWs hand is too strong.

Besides, infections are not always successful - I have had the frightful experience of attempting a failed infection as an Alpha.

Subsequently, I assumed he was a WW; even so, it was an idiotic use - or waste - of the power, petulance over-riding any remnant of judgment.
i wanted to remain quiet on this subject SS, but you just made this game not fun for me. the reason i really didnt care anymore. im very sorry i was wrong, if everyone was right this game would last 1 night. i thought i had it pinned, if i was right im a hero...wrong, oh well its been done before. your constant name calling on my mishaps pretty much suck.

Melrose in post 1184 thanked you, too.

You should have admitted you got it wrong, but you got a fixed idea in your head about me, firstly, and later, an equally firm fixed idea about DP, in both cases wrongly, and unfortunately, remained fixated on that.

In any case, once I was killed I was out of things, and made no comment on anything, (other than the view from the Opera House Balcony) but the MIA villagers irked me; they could have done more, and played a more active role, and they didn't.

I'm sorry about your hurt feelings, but you should have owned up to your mistake, and continued to give what help you could have to the village.

You know, I very often disagree with you on a lot of things in this game (lol), but I have to agree with you here. I think people (not just SS) have treaded into the piling on/mean territory on this game with regards to you. I had a point where I was like "WTF" with you, but then I moved on and tried to play my role.

However, @rick snagwell, you do have the tendency to never justify your moves in this game...which is like breaking rule #1. Not only does it help with the analysis for the village, but it also serves as a way to check yourself before you make moves. So you do invite some of it upon yourself. I think your mistakes are magnified bec

That said, we all make mistakes and it's been a bit of a pile-on on rick here. The village loses as a group, so it reflects on all of us. So if the village sucked, we all sucked. This game is supposed to be fun, not bitter. Just learn from it and move on.

Well, I for one enjoy you in these games and expect to see you in the next game. Like I said earlier, I have only seen one game where the hunter didn't target a villager. I think Ravenvii stealing Tomorrow's soother power tops your hunter shot.

SS hates my play style and she usually targets me with her wrath :D. She is actually a very nice (sometimes over competitive) player who I hope you have the chance to team up with as a WW.

That's why I requested that you be eaten and Melrose and Fenris agreed. You can get revenge next game when you are a WW :D.

I plan to target you with my wrath, now. :D
