Got an idea to get more players and stop people from being lost. What if in the opening post we put a voting record and everything that happening in the last 2 game days. Then people who are too busy to read the whole thing can get a cliff notes version.

I think these games look more complicated and overwhelming than they actually are to play. You totally get the hang of it as you go along. If you get confused, most of the players listed can probably answer most questions and ravenvii will answer any others that you may not want to post.

That’s not the lost others are referring to. They don’t know what the new rules are or don’t entirely understand them.

This version is certainly more complicated, and sure a simple game would be better for one to cut their teeth on, but in several posts now I notice you really do exaggerate the difficulty, -aggie-. Maybe it took you a while to catch on but that doesn't mean it's universally true. It's no biggie to ask questions and figure things out as you go along. It's just a bloody game, as it were. :p

All the talk, talk, talk, talk in the threads gets completely tedious though and I think that is part of what puts people off. I said a few pages back that I'm in for this but I am not going to chat up a storm any more. It's too time-consuming and that detracts from the fun of a GAME. (Plus it annoys my husband how much time this can take out of my evenings. Damn time zones.)

I think the idea of putting a short, simple voting record (once the votes are tallied up for each of the lynchings) in the first post may be a big help for those who can't handle all the back and forth chat, if ravenvii is cool with doing that.

The proof is in the pudding. Where are the players? Why haven’t we started if everyone wants all these new rules? Also, I’m not the only one stating there are too many new rules and too many changes. At least I play though. I’m just stating that MAYBE a few people on here want lots of changes each game, which is turning some people off. We lost Tomorrow a long time ago when some of the first changes were made.

And again, it’s not the voting record. Read some of the other responses besides mine.

If you think I'm only reading your posts you are quite mistaken. I've read it all.

Yes, it has gotten complicated and as I've already said, I do agree it's probably putting people off. I quoted you because you're one of the strongest proponents of mentioning how difficult it is and how no one could possibly understand without playing more than one simple game, and while I'm sure that's a big help, I'm not sure it's required to understand. It can be figured out as one goes along. My observation throughout these games was that it took you a bit longer than the average to catch on to how it all works but your experience doesn't necessarily apply to everyone. Going on about how difficult it is sure isn't going to help recruit either.

With it being increasingly complex and talkative, I think a simple voting record in the first post could help, not solve everything, but HELP. So you know though, my entire post was not directed at you, just the first paragraph and it could apply to anyone thinking along the same lines really. I'm not trying to have a go at you here.

Sure, I could add a voting record to the original post, if that gets two more people to sign up!

If we're still stuck at 14, I'll just cut two roles out, and get the game started. What do you think?

Start on Monday, if we get players, play the game as written. If not, delete the spy and mystic/make hunter part of NW.
