I’m in, I guess.

I agree with Abbie on all the rules changes.

I think the only reason I posted after was because you guys keep discussing rules changes. If I don’t get in my two cents, I find out later you’ve changed the rules for the next game.

I'm actually liking all the rule changes, it keeps the game interesting. Although, i think that we may have to start an intermediate game with the original complex game rule+vampires, because it'd be almost impossible to understand if you haven't played the complex game for awhile.
Also, I think that the hunter should be part of the secret society. It will at least give them some power beyond know the other people in their group are innocent.

Wolves don't get to kill if they are recruited? What happens to the PM that they sent you for the kill that night?
They don't get their nightly kill, but they get 3-4 kills in that single night. I think that's a fair trade, don't you think? Heh.

I am starting to think we'll never get the player turn out required for this. It's gotten SO complicated that it's daunting for anyone new to the game to join. What sucks is that this sounds really interesting but that's because I get it, for the most part, but I have played this game several times.

It's a fun game but I think we may need to get back to basics if we're to have any, uh, fresh meat.

I think if they’re going to make changes, make only one change and see how that goes. Too many at once, IMO. If we only have 12, I’m out.

I've only played the complex games since we started all of this, but in the basic game are you all seeing a lot of new players or is it just the same people playing over and over? I know a lot of the complex players play both games at the same time.

I think out of the 13 players now playing in the simple game, only one of them is new. This complex game is getting way to hard for me.

The fact is, if you look to the previous games, you'll realize that to play, all you *really* need to know the rules for are your own role and the bad guys, as well as the rules under miscellaneous.

And the bad guys haven't changed at all since the last game - the only changes are things the roles themselves need to know about. And the miscellaneous rules have only been slightly modified to include time limits - which I think you can handle, seeing that the simple game has it, too.

If you played the previous complex game fine, you will be fine here.

We need 16 players at the absolute minimum to play the game. So come on, give it a try.

I think that we should make the rules to the game as a guide to the forums. Have each player lined up with exactly what they do in the game, so that they can look it up and see what do to easily.
For example:
Seer
You can find out the identity of other players by sending a pm to the mc once per game night.
Interactions to other players: you are just a villager, you cannot pm anyone in the game.
Strategies
You should reveal yourself only when necessary, as you are a great target for werewolves to infect or kill.

I'm only typing on the iPad, so I don't want to write morel, but the seer, and each of the roles should be elaborated on and written in this way.
It would make the game seem less formidable to new players.
Also, I think that after each game, people can leave comments about their role and their strategy.

I'll give it a shot. I haven't played yet, but I've followed some of the other games.

To bad you didn't sign up in the simple game, it would have been better for you if you could have tried it out first before moving to the complex one. As long as you understand how the game works and you know the rules, I don't see why not. Welcome.:)

I think these games look more complicated and overwhelming than they actually are to play. You totally get the hang of it as you go along. If you get confused, most of the players listed can probably answer most questions and ravenvii will answer any others that you may not want to post.

Welcome!

There used to be. And then it kept getting built on. I tried a complex game a few back and I literally didn't even vote towards the end because I was so lost. It was pages and pages and pages of posts. It was honestly too much for me to handle.

It's not that bad. Just know what your role does in the movie. The rest falls. Don;t worry about others until their role affects yours.
