We're just over halfway through the first vote's time limit, which ends at 11:30AM (CST) tomorrow...

I really would have liked the Priest to have come out to help us narrow down our first vote, but I can respect the decision not to... but since I hate voting blindly, I'll vote for renewed for the time being. I know that he doesn't usually post a lot, especially this early in the game, but everyone else has posted since the game started yesterday.

I'll consider amending my vote if renewed posts at some point today, or before the deadline tomorrow just to say that he's paying attention. I don't think that's too much to ask. :)

That abbreviaion pisses me off so much, not least because it's for a largely nonsensical phrase in the first place.

Sorry :D

As it is I've largely skimmed over what's been written to date as work went to hell yesterday and today is only mildly better. I appreciate what you say about the role playing aspect of the game but you also need to consider the context we're in. I think it's best to imagine us as a group of villagers undersiege, gathered in a townhall trying to work out the peril outside that's also within (although not sure why we all surrender the safety of numbers at night to get picked off one by one in our beds.) In this way it's quite normal for us all to be bickering with one another and saying. "Hurry up Priest, show yourself."

Plus if you want to make it interesting you then have to start talking about yourself in the third person to add any sense of drama or you risk making up stories about others as you did and it confounds any analysis of what's being written to try to identify the wolves/vamps.

In general, I agree with you. The problem is that some people are quiet by nature and it takes a little extra to get them to actively participate. I could ask Philbeeney or Mexbearpig in a narrative on what they think about the WW invasion of the village but I would probably just get the answer "I don't know". I also could have added myself to the narrative but, in this case, I was trying more to get them to respond then adding to the narrative (sorry for the confusion). Both narrative were to show them that they are only limited by their imagination and that it's better to post something (even if it's not WW related) then to post nothing (even if it's just to comment on iBlue's cooking).

Yes I know I have been quiet so far. I didn't have too many thoughts about anyone or anything bin the game that could cause me to post or vote. The priest will choose his own strategy regardless to what I say(it seems).

And if you look at past games I usually don't vote. But as soon as I see something fishy in the villagers posts, I'll post a response.

The post don't have to be WW related. I put my narrative in the game to give you something write about in a quick post.

Some examples of responses might be

It wasn't me running around the village the other day. I don't even own a towel.

or

iBlue put too many spices in the food yesterday so I drank too many whiskeys with dinner.

or (even WW related)

I was taking a shower and saw through my window a WW enter the village. I rushed out but was unable to see which cabin he entered. Of course I had to take along my prize chicken so iBlue wouldn't steal it while I was out (she wants to roast it for the village).

plutonius. There now no one can say I don't vote early. Even though Rodimus tries to gun me down, and Ravenvii has it in for me for no reason. I must vote the way I feel and not be torn by petty differences.

Yeah, the words "penis" and "snip" have very few exceptions on when they should ever reside in the same sentence together. ;)

I feel bad for all the poor cookies that get snipped after they come out of the iBlue's oven. :(

This taking out the nonvocal players strategy is starting to tick me off. The reason we don't post is because usually we are Simple villagers (Not saying I'm simple villager or a special...don't want the vamp activating me). And I'm not one of those analytical person who can call out a baddie by a typo :p.

So to help the village, I'll vote this round. Plutonoius. I'm not sure who said it, but someone said he was voting pretty quick. I've been waiting for some insight from the priest but now that he has chosen to stay hidden, I'll vote. While he just voted.

Edit: And it also bugs me that I don't even have the lowest number of posts. There are A few more that have 1-3 posts.

Edit:changed vote

In past games, I've been accused of everything from being too quiet, to too chatty... you're damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I stated as much before that some players, including you, are not the most vocal at the start of games, especially. So on one hand, I can understand your frustration at being voted for not being vocal enough... but at the same time, I find it hard to fully blame people for voting for you because people posting is one of the only ways we can gather information in this game. Hopefully, people will see (by your last post) that you ARE fully engaged in this game, even though your activity might not always show it and consider that during their voting process.

At this point with no priest, and no question to narrow down our choices it is completely random.

I'll vote for Appleguy, because I'm pretty sure he isn't the priest or he would have announced it already. It definitely doesn't mean he's a baddie, but at this stage, it's the only thing I'm sure of.

Voting so far :

1x Melkorr - [ CBoss ]
1x chrmjenkins - [ ravenvii ]
1x ravenvii - [ jimN ]
1x CBoss - [ Don't Panic ]
1x iBlue - [ appleguy123 ]
1x renewed - [ stonyc ]
1x appleguy123 - [ Moyank24 ]
3x MexBearpig - [ NathanMuir, Plutonius, philbeeney ]
3x Plutonius - [ Rodimus Prime, MexBearig, Melrose ]

According to my accounting, Mexbearpig is inline to be lynched. Still to vote:

chrmjenkins
Melkorr
-aggie-
mscriv
iBlue
renewed

You don't need to call out a baddie by a typo. You just need to post :).

i'll move my vote to renewed, as he is now the least active player on the thread.

and mexbearpig, i don't see why you should be ticked off by people voting for the ones who don't participate. so far non-posting has been a safe and effective strategy to fly udner everyone's radar, so it makes sense that this comes at the price of becoming an increasingly risky strategy.
it balances the game: if you chat too much you risk incriminating yourself with your posts or by simply being in everyone's eyes, if you don't you become suspicious for not posting. seems fair to me.

besides, everything else being the same (like on day one in priestless land). i'd rather randomly loose someone who doesn't participate than someone who does.

There was more chat when everyone was talking numbers.

Not sure why the priest hasn't come forward yet. They may be immune but the rest of us ain't and I for one would rather make a semi informed lynching decision.

It's bedtime over here so I'll leave you lot to puzzle over what's what and try to urge the priest into doing something useful.

It's cold outside, and I only have a towel wrapped around my body. I can't find my Sarah Palin statue.

I'm starting to think renewed stole my statue and is defiling it as we speak. That would explain his absence.

maybe the priest wants to try a different angle at priesthood, like using the prayer later in the game when it might have a different impact.

IMO, s/he could at least out themselves so we know who not to vote for. They've got three days worth protection, correct?

don't see the point.
if he/she is at risk of being lynched, i am sure that he/she would out him/herself.

I suppose, though I still don't see the point of letting even one person waste their vote when it could be redirected to a potential baddie.
