Hey guys, nice to be back. For future reference, don't let that Stonyc guy be undertaker again. As they say, the dead can't say no.
So, on to an explanation of what went on. First and foremost, I'm not the seer. I could continue to play that game, but I'd end up harming the village more than helping it shooting in the dark. The good news is that between stonyc's scans and no one screaming bloody murder before lynches, the seer is still out there likely.
How do I know that? Well it goes back to why I claimed to be the seer: to protect melrose. It wouldn't be hard for the bad guys to deduce I could only be sure he was clean if I knew his role. There are very few ways that is possible if I'm not the seer. It's also why I know philbeeney's role.
So, why did I lie just to protect melrose?
1) Well, at the time he was on a short list of 5 possible bad guys. It made sense for me to help the village out at that point without directly exposing him to infection immediately. Turns out jav's prayer post was wrong and mucked that all up.
2) To protect the real seer. I made a guess he or she wouldn't reveal themselves just to see where my ploy was going, all the while scanning with a little less fear of being sniffed if they start defending someone they know to be clean, for example.
3) to prevent the sorcerer going unused before he or she died. The past few games, the sorcerer didn't even get used. In other previous games, they brought back players the village had killed, rather than the bad guys. I figured there was a moderate chance that it would go unused, yet again. So, it's not that I think I'm that important, just that I gambled we should use or lose it.
4) to see if I could do it. Yup, I convinced everyone I was the seer, even if for a second.
4.5) the middle finger. That's right. Game rules dictate that a player dies if he doesn't post. Player has relatively unimportant , yet convinces village to bring him back. I don't care if I'm a bad person for finding that funny. Besides, I've given up clubbing seals, I'm on the righteous path.
5) it's your damn fault. Seriously, there were two huge neon signs that my proclamation was cow dung. For starters, I got the number of nights wrong when I was asked about my scans. Mscriv even called me out yet you guys bought my response. Second, why the hell would jav kill me for inactivity if I had been sending him scan requests? If you guys want to win, we've got to pay closer attention.
Now onto the game. Ravenvii, thanks for bringing me back. It's a shame Stonyc is gone. I wanted to see justice for violating my corpse.
The good news is that neither he nor mscriv can be vampire infected, and since the ww infection necessarily occurred before mscriv's immunity period, he's clean.
The bad news is that ravenvii could be the infected WW. It would be the perfect cover to bring me back at the will of the village. Hopefully the seer is on that.
