I bet it will require 500mhz + g3... maybe higher.. I don't think it would run will at all with anything less than 512mb ram and 20gb hard drive

I think the minimum requirements will be a G4:eek:

Hmm.....If that's all it requires, maybe I could toss another GB into my PB and not take too much of a performance hit (if any).

That may be what I take away most of all from the contrast with Vista. Remember, unless your machine flys, you aren't going to get Windows's eye candy. Here you (almost) always get everything.

Depends on how you read this: "From G3 to Xeon, from MacBook to Xserve, there is just one Leopard." (from the 64 bit info page)

About what I expected, but not as much as I had hoped for. Some cool looking stuff in Leopard, I may have to spring for the upgrade, ( dammit, I guess Tiny Tim won't be getting that operation he's been needing )!

Overall it was quite good, I really like Time Machine OS X needs it, however It's a little similar to Windows Xp feature System restore, except Time Machine has more eye candy lol.
Your forgot the instantaneous-ness that you have to wait 5-10 minutes for with System Restore :p. And System Restore doesn't touch the "my documents" folder, so if you deleted something that isn't essential to the system or applications, System Restore can't do anything about it. Like my iTunes library file a few months ago .

Sorry if this has been asked before, but when will a video of the keynote be available, and where would I find it?

Agreed. It's neat, don't get me wrong...but that's a bit over the top.

I'd almost expect Marty and Doc to remind you not to use the app unless your Mac is going 88 miles per hour.

I'm sure you can change it, much like you can change the login panel, et cetera.... have it zooming into the crotch of some devotchnik for undeleting t3h pr0n.

i have no idea if this has been brought up (and I'm not going to read 1000 posts), but with the entry Mac Pro priced at $2500 dollars, I think the long-rumored, long-awaited mid-tower (somewhat upgradeable headless iMac ~$1500) will be "one more thing."

just wanted to go on the record with that.

I hope it happens sooner than that. WWDC is week long right? Could there be a possibility of another Stevenote? (Dont answer that. I know its no)

So guys G5, ahh sorry, I mean C2D MBP next tuesday.....
Boy I hope so.

It will be posted on Apple.com in a few hours. If they don't show it on the main page, go to the quicktime site and it will be there.

Oh gosh..LOL....lets not forget about the jiggawat...I hope they allow us to change that background

Bless

Im overal kinda impressed by the leopard demo, not what I was hoping for, the entire next spring thing is a bit depressing, just shows that they have lots more work to do.. hopefuly the finder is some of that work! LOL Really unimpressed with mail... so it got templates... whoo hoo!

Not really sure what i think of the mac pro, the specs look great but not sure if I like the memory type it needs!

Lets hope we hear more at macworld paris... they only teased us!

Honestly, i'm tempted to get a stripped down MacPro and upgrade as i go along. Plus dell is offering some good deals on their Ultrasharp display which would cost me a total of £1480 which is basically a macbook pro excepts you get more.

However i'm thinking more announcements will come. Like an iMac with a high end conroe chip as well as a MBP with high end chips with lower prices as well

Sigh decisions.

Well, we can dream... Didn't count on the 2000$ version with BTO proc downgrade. Still, there seems to be a 500$ dollar premium on the Japanese one (I'm based in Tokyo) so I'm gonna stick with my plan and lay down the cash for an iMac tomorrow...

Anyone think I should wait a little longer for either a 15" MBP with FW800 or Conroe iMac?

I need to know where it actually backs up these files. Everyone knows you aren't supposed to back up on the same drive. Does this mean I need to carry around an external drive with my notebook for Time Machine to even be worth a crap

lol, I bet they are not much different than the system restore under windows, unless u back up ur disk as img to an external hard drive, u will lose everything once ur disk dies. time machine will die along with ur harddisk, LOL

Most likely. Unless you have another drive, time machine will only be useful for recovering files that were accidentally deleted or changed. It won't work as a true backup if you actual have drive problems.

Did anyone already mention they dropped the prices of the cinema displays?
If so, my apologies (drooling over a Mac Pro)

When will the bottom rung of the professional line, now the Mac Pro, come with more than 256 ram? It doesn't bother me too much, because its incredibly easy to upgrade, but, its a point that a lot of people are going to notice and complain about.

Yea, it's been posted quite a few times.

That is my big problem. Yes I like the idea, but I already use Backup to just image my hard drive every week.

I know I'm just one of the 4% of people he was talking about, but I almost think this will give people a false sense of security. It isn't really a "backup" system, it is more of a version tracking system with an anti-trash feature.
