Anyone think we will see a Merom MBP "in the next few weeks"

hopefully... I'd like to see a 12" MBP also, but I don't think that will happen.

In all fairness the MacPros are now fairly accessible by most if you drop down to the 2.0GHz chip (which, lets face it is no slouch), you get a decent deal. Not sure about the stock Nvidia card though. They even dropped cinema display prices. Not bad at all.

wow am i the only one that found this wwdc EXTREMELY weak? :(
I'm pretty pleased with what I saw. Tiger was pretty heavily focused on consumer baubles, but Leopard is a big hint that Apple may finally be taking IT seriously. It's about time.

My THeory

I dont think the "Top Secret" stuff is really top secret. I think Apple needs some more time to develope a few things before releasing them out into the public. No reason to release buggy apps.

Remember, WWDC was pushed back this year. THey aren't done with Leopard just yet.

Pathfinder is overkill for most users. If you're so happy with Pathfinder, why do you care about Apple updating the finder?

I didn't say I am "so happy with PathFinder". And, whilst I agree it's overkill and possibly overwhelming, it has features that Finder could use and it'd improve no end. Almost all switchers I speak to say they dislike the Finder as it's not as intuitive as it should be. Looks great but falls down not long after that.

I'd like to think the Apple would recognise this since they appear to be targeting new users to OSX in this 'I'm a PC, I'm a Mac' campaign.

/me hopes that the "We're not going to talk about the really big stuff" line isn't B.S.

What, is Leopard going to come out a couple days before Vista and steal all of its thunder with an immense feature set? I hope so :-/

Apple are now saying spring 2007

I'm your typical Mac fanboy, I love iCandy in my OS and new hardware releases.

Though I love the new Mac Pros, that was a given and to be expected. I wanted something more or at least updates to their existing lines.

Kinda disappointed here.

Well I knew that this would happen. This is a developer conference. Apple doesn't want to bore developers with random consumer upgrades, it's long enough as it is. I was blown away by the Mac Pro and Leopard had some nifty tricks. Wait until the Expo for updates, it's too soon now.

When I switched 3.5 years ago, the Finder was one thing I liked better in windows. However, after I got used to the OSX Finder it became my favorite and I think it's a lot better than Windows finder. I think every switcher needs to use OSX for 6 months before coming to any final conclusions.

I'm looking forward to Front Row 2.0. This is where Microsoft is actually ahead of the game, and where Apple needs a big kick in the ***.

I'd like to give MacRumors a big thumbs up for staying up during this WWDC. I've been a member here since 2001 and don't remember a major apple event when the forums haven't been "unavailable" or at the very least unreliable for at least a few hours during + after. WTG guys!

Oh, and I'm seriously bummed that there wasn't "One more thing". I live for those moments.

I'm sure I read that Apple will be releasing some new products in the next week:confused:

How heavy is Leopard supposed to be? The powers that be claim that it will run on a G3, so I can't imagine too onerous...

I bet it will require 500mhz + g3... maybe higher.. I don't think it would run will at all with anything less than 512mb ram and 20gb hard drive

I hope it happens sooner than that. WWDC is week long right? Could there be a possibility of another Stevenote? (Dont answer that. I know its no)

So guys G5, ahh sorry, I mean C2D MBP next tuesday.....

I love eye candy, but that space backdrop for Time machine is just stoopid.

Agreed. It's neat, don't get me wrong...but that's a bit over the top.

I'd almost expect Marty and Doc to remind you not to use the app unless your Mac is going 88 miles per hour.
