I don't think WWDC was aimed at making sure your time was spent wisely, should you decide to spend it that way.

That is directed at everyone who is bitching in this manner. I can hardly stand to read threads during events like this. I want info and substantive discussion of features and announcements, and I have wade through 90% of BS posts like this one.

There were some major announcements about Leopard that are very impressive. How long have you all been bitching about it being time for a new Finder? Now that it's announced, it's brushed aside as nothing....That goes for other new features.

Get over it.[/QUOTE]

Could be said to you as well. Looking at the responses you are in the minority here.

Amen to that. This was a great keynote, had tons of great information and Leopard looks awesome. Problem is that people read outlandish rumors and expect steve to make a touch screen, singing and dancing girlfriend for the majority of these people and when it doesnt happen, people ignore the big things and get all disapointed. Its really sad. I mean come on, they announed some big big things today, things with huge implications. Its a shame people cant see that though...

Good job MacRumors, WTF Apple?

Great job to the MacRumors crew, loved the coverage.

WTF happened? None of the previously undisclosed features were really that exciting and there was no mention of anything server related (a la ZFS?). I'm glad there were no hardware surprises since I'm getting ready to place an order for new Apple kit but this was lame. Who gives a rip about Safari for Windows? Firefox hasn't been a gateway product to Linux and I doubt Safari will be a gateway product to OS X.

This felt like a Windows Vista event: we had to drop these features 'cause it was too hard. But look we have the iPhone coming out in a few weeks! The iPhone is nice and I hope to get one if they live up to my needs but to see OS X get shoved to the back burner and have it come up short in terms of really new and interesting features is a horrible disappointment...

Well the Apple Store is up and, unless I'm mistaken, all that's there is a new layout. No new hardware/software.

lol safari on windows what a joke! can you say MISTAKE!

I doubt that this would turn out to be a mistake - this would probably turn out to be one of those events that makes Apple even more popular among Windows users. They just ought to make Safari "look cool", in addition to all those speed benchmarks (that normal users don't really care about).

To whoever was wondering earlier about Windows users getting the Safari Beta free and Mac users having to wait till Leopard - Safari beta is available for both Windows and Mac OS X users right now.
