"Apple unveils new iPhone as rival launches the Pre
Technology group reveals its latest model just as Palm's challenger hits the shops in the US"
I think somebody at the Guardian has jumped the gun slighty...or maybe they know something we dont...?
"Such concerns did not stop consumers in the US queuing up to buy the phone on Saturday, however, with shops around the country entertaining small groups of dedicated fans desperate to get their hands on the new Palm device."
Maybe im missing something.. but can any of you see "dedicated fans desperate to get their hands on the new palm"...?

The Mighty Mouse scrollball is a horrible design. Mine hasn't worked for months. IMO, the Intellimouse is one of the things that M$ got right. That would actually be fantastic, my scroll ball is boogered. Hopefully some kind of multi-touch surface mouse.
Just had a thought about the introduction of the new iPhone with Video chat. (If this has been mentioned before - I apologize, I haven't caught up with all the posts)
I can imagine Phil introducing the video feature, talking it up, then getting a video call from Steve!
Showing Phil can pull off a great product intro, and giving a glimpse of a recovered Steve utilizing the latest insanely great technology!
Just a thought.

I'm hoping we get 3.0 after the keynote, but I don't think we will though.
There's no video chat coming. The tech just isn't there.
With my aging crackberry (7100).. ..barely able to hold a charge more than a day..

Could be, but the real trick is figuring out HOW to use touch screen on a desktop. Apple might choose to simply say no. They said no to the iAppliances when eveyone thought this would become our future. Steve Jobs said more than once that he is even more proud of the products Apple decided NOT to release, than he are of the ones they released, because it showed where they were right in thinking (once again) where the whole world was wrong.Snow leopards most secretest feature. touch screen compatibility! apple cant afford to let windows 7 dominate the tablet market. touch screens and gestures are obviously the next big thing since sliced bread. one more thing, does anyone else think it's strange that time machine is turned on by a slider like the iPhone? food for thought.
This new banner at WWDC09 might be evidence that Steve Jobs will be seen on the new iPhone.

There's no video chat coming. The tech just isn't there. The phone just captures, apparently lightly edits, and sends video.
Those of you hoping for video chatting are going to be left disappointed.
Think3.0 gets released today. Had it at work but it killed voicemail.Given the chaos of the simultaneous launch of new phone & OS last time, they might well stagger the release of 3.0 and any new handset this time round.
I'd feel so bad for the people who just bought their first iPhone within the last week.![]()
