WWDC 2009 Rumor Roundup: iPhone, Snow Leopard, Laptops?

Ok, thanks for the info. I will probably try to watch this and see how long it lasts along with the Engadget and Macrumors twitter pages.

There will be flood after it is released. Developers can not use the 3.0 SDK yet for production apps.

As much as Id love it, I dont think we will see it today or even this week...

Ive always thought that when we start seeing tons of app updates then we can assume 3.0 is right around the corner...

UNLESS developers (only) are given the final 3.0 OS today....
I just dont see 3.0 being released when half or more of the apps wont work until a "later date".... just doesnt make sense

I know exactly what you mean. Everybody is like OMG i luvs teh iphone/ itouch (Which I hate it being called iTouch) i want one soooo bad!!!11!! Yet they don't even know how to sync and stuff and then they complain that the phone sucks.

hehe this reminds me of that guy who bought my 1 gen iphone last week for 400$:confused:. And now i am soo happy new one is coming up can i can invest that money in the new one!!!!!
 
does anyone but me think that the chances of snow leopard being out between labor day and halloween being next to zero? september is ipod month and october is windows 7 month. and can anyone see a december release of snow leopard? thanks.

I'm sure I'll try it too! And thanks for sharing! Sometimes the streamers try to cap the number of folks they'll let into the stream. So, fingers crossed, maybe it will hold.

August would be my best guess -- prior to iPod month. Phil will tell us for sure in just a bit.

I have seen alot of apps update already to fix 3.0 issues. Apple gave us fix now or have removed from the store email a few weeks back. I'm guessing there will be several apps that will be updated within days of 3.0 to use the new features of 3.0.
 
Perhaps 7/12 the release date of a new iPhone. I have a 3G and I just checked the upgradeability for a phone and it says:

As a valued AT&T customer, we can offer you a discounted iPhone upgrade at a higher price, along with a 2-year commitment and an $18 upgrade fee. Please proceed with the online upgrade process for pricing details. You may qualify for a full discount on a standard iPhone upgrade on 07/12/2009

Nope. That just tells you when you, personally, will be eligible for a subsidized upgrade. Don't think iPhone will release on a Sunday. :)

Kind of along the same lines..... in iTunes it said "June 8th" it will check for new software!? (for the iPhone)
I know those dates are probably just random but what are the chances it lists the same day as WWDC!?

I personally dont think we will see 3.0 today but it sure would be nice!!
 
Will Safari be snappier? Or, in the case of the 4 Beta - will it actually become stable? :)

Nitbits aside, can't wait to see more of Snow Leopard and totally buying a new phone in Germany in a month unless T-Mobile screws up the prices as they did last time.

This sort of talk, however, has died down in the days leading up to WWDC and it would be strange for Apple to devote much time to their laptop line at their development conference. If these changes are to take place, it seems likely they would be "quiet" updates or perhaps occur a few weeks after WWDC, itself.

iPhone Form Factor

Hi there,

I have a teacher at school who is married to a woman who is part of the company who is making the camera for the new iPhone. She has seen what the new iPhone looks like and apparently the new iPhone is going to be in a form factor that is wedge shaped. The new shape is thicker at the top to accomodate the 3.2MP Autofocus camera that this company is making. The back of the new iPhone is a white/silver metal enclosure and is said to be "more luxurious than last year". I believe this to be very likely and just remember you heard it here first.

Anyone knows if there will be live video stream from keynote?
If not then when video from keynote might be available?
