Ah, video chat, blah. I think my roommate has it right, that really won't take off. You'll end up talking while looking up some one's nose. I know a lot of people were looking forward to that but I was kinda hoping somewhere in there that the rumor of free mobile me would be right (Though I didn't think it would be, it was getting to be a strong rumor).\

And wifi only? Bah, the one use I could see of this is when I'm out and about and want to show my parents something as I'm talking to them. Which I doubt I'd have wifi then.

Nope. But Apple use to be something more than a phone maker, and apparently they aren't anymore. As I recall, Motorola already went the same path, and we all know how well THAT worked for them. The Mac Pro is way past due to be updated, and they use to announce the Mac Pro either at WWDC or NAB.

HTC EVO on Sprint can do video chat over 4G or 3G.

Never thought of Apple as having the low end solution.

I'm fairly certain that those who currently have plans will get to keep their grandfathered plans. Its only those who sign up or change their plans to allow tethering. At least, that's the last I heard of it.

i agree, dont really think it will take off too much. not very comfortable sitting/walking with your arm out in front of you. not very practical either.
