Home run there for Apple no question.

Better chip and battery, HD Video recoding, better camera, front facing camera, multitasking, game changing display, iBooks, Gyroscope, iMovie, folders for apps....

It's a winner for sure. Well done Apple yet again, this will raise the bar again for all other manufacturers and software providers.

This Keynote was specific to the iPhone guys. The rest about Mac OS x, MobileMe, Apple TV, etc. will unravel in the next few days.

Something else, why 3 seams? I'd be perfectly fine if there were only 2, and not the one by the headphone jack.

Sigh.... No mention of Verizon. Guess I will be buy 3 droid Incredibles for me and the family. No way am I switching to AT&T. Steve was wrong, I am disappointed.

I'm sure there will be some OS X/hardware snippets to come over the next few days, but if they were in any way significant I'm sure Jobs would have trumpeted them himself in the keynote. But hey, maybe he's donating that particular glory hole to one of his underlings. I suspect not though.

So - to recap:

Approx. one and a half hours of the new iPhone, which is admittedly quite nice, but half of which we already knew.

Approx. half an hour on the iPad and the App Store.

Zero mention of anything Mac, OS X, Apple TV, or the fresh shafting from AT&T. Hey Mr. Jobs, any idea how much data is in each iAd? I only ask because of a certain cap any new US based customers are going to need to worry about.
it wont affect data unless you click on the ad its been said several times.

Isn't the point of iAds to get people interacting with ads? If people are scared to tap on them it will be detrimental to the developer who is relying on revinue from the ads.

It was actually the first Apple keynote since 3 years that hasn't disappointed me. The iPhone got a new design (though I don't like it, but many (most?) people do), a new processor, a new screen, a gyroscope, a better camera...
I don't like how Apple's praising their products, but this time I really agree this is an awesome upgrade to the iPhone.

It was obvious that this WWDC was going to be about the iPhone ("Center of the App universe"). But as Jobs pointed out in an email, Apple isn't abandoning the Mac. We got Snow Leopard last year, the MacBook Pros just had quite significant spec bumps. And after all, every iDevice developer must use a Mac to create apps.

maybe im stupid, but i atleast think the people who are gutted, should write a sentence to sjobs, and atleast express your feelings after wwdc.

I was excited about the iPod Nano w/camera but that eventually wore off.

WWDC 2007 was the last time a keynote was really worthwhile otherwise. The iPhone delayed Leopard though. I dodged a bullet not buying the original Mac Pro. If I did own one I'd probably be running Windows on it full time.
Last June it was either a Mac Pro (3 months old) or a MacBook Pro (brand new) for me. I went with the new MBP 17" and figured I'd hold off the Mac Pro until the next time it's updated, perhaps after 6 months or so. Now it's been over a year, I'm really starting to need it but there's no way I'm buying the antiquated heap of metal they're offering now, unless they knock 50% off the price... it's been 461 days since the last refresh. FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY-ONE. That's a new record for the Mac Pro and possibly for all Macs. They used to update it every 5-6 months a few years ago. 461 days is closing in on twice the average time between Mac Pro refreshes... unreal.

Well we arent asking for much. 5 min of job's time to mention some mac related stuff. To answer questions like why the cinema displays are now so old. Things like the mac pro. And ye the macbook pros were updated. But something is awfully wrong when they reach 100 degress celsius.

Apple isnt a computer company any more

It's going to be a great purchase. It looks like a great phone. Where was the talk about the cloud though? I thought MobileMe was quite a feasible rumour. I think Apple TV will be updated in Sept along with Itunes.com

I was really hoping for a universal notifications screen for the lockscreen!

I will be queuing up for the new one though, no questions. It'll be a marvellous upgrade from my 3G

For some reason, gyroscope to me sounds like something a doctor would stick up your rear-end to see if you have colon cancer or not.

Wow...... Gyroscopes are the technological difference between Wii remotes and Wii Motion Plus. Not sure it would make a better lightsaber sound app, but it would be able to capture motion much better. There's basically almost zero lag, and rotating the device like a steering wheel wouldn't be affected by something the motion of the car or plane that you're in. You'd be able to spin the device even when it's not able to detect a difference in gravity. Basically all of the tilt games would be able to be updated to not have any lag in the input, and devices would be able to detect more subtle movements that have less to do with gravity, like sweeping across a landscape, to better track augmented reality or whatever.

Or, um, look up Wii Sports Resort, though holding the screen would definitely limit the range of motion a game could require...

But yeah, a lot of rumors that I thought were going to be announced that didn't. Is there usually any info that comes out post keynote during WWDC?

I want to see one of the teardown sites get ahold of the new iPhone to see just how scratch resistant the screen is. I would rather not have to spend money on InvisibleShields for this one.

Simply stunning... can't wait!!

Can't understand the moaners, but there always seem to be a lot of those here... why do you stay?!!

Well there are people that remember Apple when it built and sold computers. Not the constant stream of iCrap that we have had over the past few years.

Because this is MacRumors, not iPhoneRumors, maybe? Once they rename it to AppleRumors or iDeviceRumors, it's another story. Until then... enjoy the groaning.

Once you buy a Mac, you end up never buying one again and becoming very apathetic.

That's not even a complaint.

Did anyone notice on the picture of the video chat the button on the bottom right (icon looks like a camera with two rotating arrows)? I assume it's for switching cameras, so you can show the person what's in front of you. I was hoping for this.

i love how also jobs mentioned about the development time for the new iphone, it makes me think how great new macs could be, if they were given the same priority

Got a bit disapointing in the end. Not a bad update, but it could have used a little more. FaceTime itself was kind of lame, but I am interested in seeing what the 3rd parties do with it. I guess we have to wait another year to possibly see a new notification system. That is what really makes me mad about this; that crappy pop up system.

Well there are people that remember Apple when it built and sold computers. Not the constant stream of iCrap that we have had over the past few years.

And there are people who actually use Macs for work and not just to chat with your friends while you are at school.

As a pro it's becoming very difficult to justify using Macs in the workplace when they pay so little attention to the hardware outside of the cell phone world.

I need a new monitor but based on what we've seen so far today Apple isn't going to be getting my money and my aging Mac is due for an upgrade but Apple hasn't given my employers any reason to not look at Windows 7 and a PC.

Yeah, the new iPhone looks great, but developers don't just make apps for the iPhone and they don't do it on an iPad.

Time will tell. What with this Keynote, my expectations are low now.

Well I failed in that department because I already bought 4, but it appears they don't want to sell me a 5th one.

The only Macs in the Mac Buyer's Guide that have "Buy now" recommendations on them are the MBP and the MB. The rest have big red warning signs on them. I don't want a MacBook and the MacBook Pro is my most recent purchase, so it appears I'm gonna have to switch back to PC if I want to be able to buy the latest thing whenever it's time for a new investment.

And this was relevant how exactly? ATT installed 12 cells above my roof. Let me repeat this: I have 12 cells right above my head and we get dropped calls everyday. Yesterday at midnight 3G switched to Edge once again and apps were not responsive. The only solution is to switch on plane mode and then quickly back to 3G.

I am pissed off at a crappy service that costs $125 per month. Biking on Lakeshore in chicago while listening to the radio you get dropped service too (right on chicago beach's bike path) its pretty bad.

I will only get a v.4 if I grab it from Australia or it gets jailbroken. ATT service is a disgrace and I sincerely hope they are going to lose their exclusivity and Apple will open the phone to all providers.

Not one person I know with ATT is happy with their service, that tells a lot

Agree. I am riding out my 3gs contract for next year. AT&T is awful

I think iphone is going to more carriers in the USA which is why AT&T is trying to lock people into another 2yr contract.
